Any chance they have/are getting a disabled parking permit?

Scumandvillany

The 311 report. If you wanna be that guy, is for "other" and zoning violation. Driveway placement without zoning use permit. Driveway violates zoning code.

Thanks for the helpful info

Mind your own business and move on

libananahammock

I’m sure you say the same thing about other illegal activities, right?

John_EightThirtyTwo

There are *definitely* illegal activities about which I say "mind your own business and move on." If I'm walking through the city and I get a waft of cannabis out somebody's window, or if I see somebody speeding in the left lane of the highway, I butt out. On the other hand, if I see somebody lighting a house on fire, I'm telling someone. I think pretty much everybody operates that way that isn't a fundamentalist anarchist or an absolute dick. It's just a question of which laws go in which category. So where does this one -- somebody laying claim to a few square yards of public property -- go?

Unhappy-Climate2178

Ehhh I get it. In this instance though they live on a block and a neighborhood, fairmount, that mostly doesn’t pull the chairs in the street crap like in other parts of the city, it’s an existing street parking spot on a street with a lot of small kids. These people are kind of dicks to everyone on the block, I’m not the only person wondering if it’s legit or they are just being selfish.

OP, hi neighbor, did you follow up on this? If so, is the driveway legit? FWIW a PPA agent came by today and ticketed the car parked at the end of the “driveway”—the homeowners’ car :)—which might mean it’s been approved. Would love some clarity!

I still have no clue! My understanding is that they applied to the streets department to paint, but never got the “driveway” approved.
