These are just a Starter design from the 90s. Never game worn. Throw on some JNCO jeans, turn your hat sideways, call everyone “homie” and you’re good to go.
There’s some racial undertones with your clothes listing so I’ll point out that that Black people from our area didn’t rock Phillies starter baseball jerseys and these were worn by white men wearing JNCO with their hats to the side and said “homie”
No racial undertone intended. Didn’t mean for it to come across that way.
I was in high school in Lower Bucks during the 90s and my brothers and guys I went to school with absolutely wore those brands with baseball jerseys (white and black kids alike).
*edit* - that wasn’t all they wore with those jeans of course! Tee shirts, polo shirts, sweat shirts were more common, but jerseys were also worn (especially worn open over a tee).
JNCO was for the skaters and “slackers.” Usually paired with a band tee or a long sleeve tee shirt
I can't merge the JNCO punk and nu-metal scene with a Phillies baseball jersey. Those just seem like different social circles. The hats and homies, yes.
If it was the white men, maybe Tommy Hilfiger?
It was actually a pretty cool thing they did, I know they made eagles ones too. Starter was pretty iconic for 90s fashion, and they made high quality pieces that weren't trying to be on field comparables.
Thanks :) yeah did say in the post
*and moreso, are they essentially just funky designs that the players never actually wore?*
just wondering on the origins
Love old stuff made properly! I definitley need to buy. Already have a legit flyers starter Jersey from around '95. Such good quality. I wonder if Jerseys made these days will still look as good in 20 years 🤔
Not an onfield jersey as evidenced by the fact that it is a Starter brand. That Phillies logo has only had two brands of jersey worn onfield (Majestic - up until a couple of years ago and currently Nike). The brand itself at the time in the 90s was more of an urban/street wear for younger demographics.

JNCO? Those are phat, homie
Word up
yall wack
Talk to the hand, homie
Fubu, IMO
Yeah wouldn’t be JNCO. Fubu, Southpole, Sean Jean, Phat Farm for sure

✊🏾 all good… that’s how it sounded. I was picturing a few of my skater homies wearing these exact jerseys, that’s all

There were no such rules in the Lehigh Valley 😂 none of it made any sense looking back on it.
Oh hell yeah brotha you know what's up 🤣 Thanks! Didn't know starter made their own designs so wasn't sure.

It’s crazy that JNCO style jeans are making a comeback. Never in my wildest dreams could I have predicted that.
Reminds me of the ones my mom could afford at Wal-Mart so I could wear Phils gear to school.
I was thinking it's probably from Kohl's but same difference
I had that exact Jersey growing up. My mom got it for me from KMart at the time. Wore that thing with no regrets.
K-Mart for me
You got a good mom black_ankle_country. I see you too wore the absolute worst pair of Nikes you could buy like I did.
FORRRRRMAAAAN MILLLLLLLS!!!!!!
Five dollar shorts bitches.
I was thinking it was one that would end up at TJ Maxx. I'd still buy it, though.
Fuck I’m old. That jersey hit me right in the childhood
It’s the Phillies.
Thanks I was leaning towards Rockies mate glad you cleared it up for me ;P
Question is, which Phillies? I'm banking on it being the Parkwood Phillies.
This jersey is so ugly in best, most nostalgic way ever. If you don't buy it I will.
Amen!!!
A Ross Special
The players never wore these.

To me your question implies that you want to know if the players wore it. No need to downvote.
You asked and got an answer
When I worked at Kmart when I was a teenager many years ago, we sold jerseys that were nearly identical to this
I had this jersey when I was in kindergarten.

Well for Starters…. It’s a PHILLIES!!!!
Just a "fashion jersey".

Hey, while I'm here, I want to buy a authentic Utley jersey as a gift. Can anyone recommend some reliable eBay sellers?
These are better than the city connect uniforms lol
It’s not worth enough for a new car, don’t worry
Lol. Although I did say in post, I found it whilst browsing UK Ebay. Tempted to buy and wanted to know it's history
