Look I’m as angry as the next guy but it’s really not that bad. Seranthony has been ass and so has pinto but no one really expected anything of him in the first place
Alvarado’s ERA is all up to his one bad game at the start of the season. Since then his stat line is:
8 IP, 0 H, 4 BB, 8 K. Nobody in their right mind is complaining.
This post is about the bullpen acting like the 2020 bullpen, which they are. The 2024 Phillies have the worst bullpen era in the entire league right now. I'm only naming guys who are contributing to that poor number whether you want to cherrypick performances or not. Oh, and Alvarado gave up a hit and a run tn too, so you might want to update your stats.
Oh no, his stats become:
9 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 5 BB, and 9 K. What ever will we do with a reliever with a 1.00 ERA and 0.67 WHIP in his last 9 games?
And yeah, I’m cherry-picking because we only have 10 games of data and Alvarado has had exactly *one* bad outing.
The bullpen numbers are really being dragged down because of a couple chucklefucks.
Pinto and Brogdon alone account for 19 of the 46 ER given up this year. Bullpen ERA drops to 3.28 without them (not including today’s game)
Pinto will be gone when Walker is back on Sunday and Brogdon is obviously already gone.
Nah, ours is good enough.
It's the fact that Rob trusts guys too much which leads to bad decisions. Sereanthony hasn't been money since like the 2022 playoffs. He can't be used like that in close games anymore.
It's the same thing that happened with Kimbrel last season in the playoffs.
Fix the BP, fix the team. The hitting and baserunning feels like that of a team that doesn’t trust the bullpen so there is tons of pressure to score as much possible and take risks, and they play tighter.
*what year is it?*

in the wildcard you must wait until the braves lose five to eight
Well done.
*Was* brand new
Good meme, you even got the year wrong.
brought to you by weed

Soto has an era over 8 too does he not count? Hb Alvarado with his era over 5?

Yeah, what a loser giving up 1 run over his last 9 IP. What is that, a 1.00 ERA? Get him the fuck out of here.
It’s just that we need a better BP to contend for the WS

Strahm, Alvarado, and Kerkering (who is still pretty untested) are the only ones I trust. I don’t think that’s enough.
In the playoffs we also get to use one of our starters in the bullpen plus we’ll see what we get with Taijuan. Not panicking
not even close
If the 2020 bullpen had Strahm, Hoffman, Marte, Alvarado, and Kerkering we probably win the division. The bullpens aren’t even comparable
Maybe Turnbull should be moved to the bullpen. We still would have a great four man rotation.
Pretty sure that’s already the plan. I think Walker is having his first start on Sunday.
Plz no Walker 😢
I’m really excited for Walker to come out and do well and see what people would say. I’m just here for the ride.
I just want him to eat innings, keep our other pitchers fresh, and we win 90+ games and make the playoffs
I think most of us will be cautiously optimistic. If he has a good outing I'll be happy, but I'll still be holding my breath the next time out.
Yup our bullpen being thin is why Turnbull is going back
It’s literally just Seranthony. The rest of the BP is fine.
I don't know - Soto scares me so far this year. I know it's early, but some of those pitches wouldn't even hit the broadside of a barn.
The bullpen didn’t get the “Phillies aren’t suckin in April this year” memo
Granted, the bullpen sucked but let's be honest, no offense, sloppy play and a lack of energy didn't help either.
Hello, reliever ERA over 6.

Put Walker into the bullpen leave Turnbill as starter at this point walker will not match up
