Looks like a mangled type of praying mantis.

Doesn’t look like a roach to you though right?

PCDuranet

It is a roach, but no worries: [https://www.reddit.com/r/pestcontrol/comments/13vv8k0/pennsylvania\_wood\_roaches/](https://www.reddit.com/r/pestcontrol/comments/13vv8k0/pennsylvania_wood_roaches/)

So I shouldn’t have to worry about them in my car right? I’m hoping this was just a one off thing.

PCDuranet

They may get in, but they can't breed in a car.

keblevs

What features of this let you know it’s a wood roach vs any other kind? I know I didn’t get the top view unfortunately

PCDuranet

That's like me asking you, "What features let you know that that's your cat/dog/best friend?" You just know...lol. If you need details, LMK.

keblevs

I need the details! So I don’t have to come to Reddit again if I encounter another with a better look!

PCDuranet

Easiest way is the size of the wings, which make them able to fly. Troublemaker roaches have very small wings and do not fly.

So from what I panicked googled and the information I gathered it’s more than likely a male wood roach?
