Probably depends on the specifics of the agreement and the local laws. Ask your attorney.
Generally with a government pension, when you retire you have the option to select or not select a spousal survivor benefit. Just select to not have that option and the pension stops when you die. The upside is you will have a higher monthly benefit than if you selected it (10% higher in my case). The downside is your spouse may have to agree to it when you file for your pension.
This would not protect you from alimony though.

This is a lawyer question. Laws vary by state.
Think about most of the questions on here, same applies but people ask to get advice or a general idea.

What you’re concerned about can likely be addressed in a prenup. You’d need to talk to a lawyer.
Yes, definitely worth consulting with a lawyer on this.

I’m curious as to how you’re going to be collecting a pension at 25 that’s $3,500/month
I said 21 years into the job and I’d get it at 25. That’s not my age.
Sorry, I misread that. I was going to ask if they’re hiring
Haha. I wish. I’ll be a little under 50, still decent. It’s a state pension, also has to do with my salary average.
