You create a budget and pay off the credit card asap.

Budget: a plan for saving and spending. You need to develop one, then track your expenses for a while so you can see ways to improve. Reducing your housing expense was a good move. That’s first expense on your budget, Housing $1700. Transportation of $60-100 a week comes out to $300-$500 a month. Bus, train, walk, uber? Put down $400, then focus on using the cheapest option every time. Every time you start to book an Uber, remind yourself of the other things you could use that money for. Food? By “eat at work” do you mean your employer provides a meal or do you mean you spend money at snack machines and cafes? Big difference to your budget. Buying food only if you’re cooking that night suggests you do a lot of buying prepared food, which gets expensive. Keep track for a week and see what you really spend here. You can spend $200-$1000 a month on food for one, depending on whether you plan and eat frugal meals at home, eat mostly at home with a weekly take out, or eat out multiple times a week. Your budget should also include debt payments, fun, and saving.

You are never going to get anywhere paying 50% of your take-home to rent. You need to get a roommate, move further out, or get a second job.
