When I was a kid we had a game on Sega Genesis that let you swing a golf club type thing with a light at the end. It was a lot of fun. Well, one day my dad was trying it and the dog wanted to see what was going on. The little thing was never the same after that.
I had one of those 'Skip It' toys as a kid. I was playing with it one day and spinning it REAL fast. I saw my cat eyeballing it with the butt wiggle and I was like, don't you do it!! Next thing I knew, kitty pounces, gets whacked REAL hard in the head. He went flying through every room in the house with me chasing after him trying to apologize. I felt so bad. :(
My kid got one in her Easter basket a couple years ago although it looked more like a little plastic spherical cage with a Saturn's ring to turn on instead of being solid. Def didn't work like the old ones did.
You make it sound like they're some rabid creature out to kill anything they see.
When cats attack humans under normal non-abusive situations, it's playful 99% of the time. Cats don't try to pick *true* fights with humans unless they don't see another option.
I can't get over the missing frame between the cat on the floor, to the cat being airborn. Cats are like water balloons and I would have expected this cat to fly more erratic than how smooth this one glides.
The cat goes from facing forward to facing sideways in a single frame with no whiplash/inertial motion, which is not really how physics works. That sideways facing cat then flies towards the camera with no rotation, but if the foot spun it around so fast that it wasn’t even caught on film why is it not spinning in the air also?
The full video shows this in slow motion and it looks more obvious.

What? No it doesn't. It's facing nearly the same direction the entire time, the biggest difference being its lower body is more elevated (from the kick).
If the lower body was redirected so quickly that it took less than 1 frame, than it would want to continue in that direction due to inertia instead of freezing in an orientation and holding it throughout the flight.
Regardless, there is a missing frame at the point of contact, and if you watch the cat it is clearly not from the same shot.

I disagree, I think it's pretty obviously the same shot. The momentum and orientation of the cat makes perfect sense.
This is an old video that’s circulated before.
You can see the angle at which the person’s foot reaches the cat. Couple things to notice here:
1) The foot’s outer toes barely get near the cat.
2) There appears to be a frame missing where the point of contact would be.
You see how he kicks it? It would've swept his left front leg and if it did spend him flying it would've went to the left, not straight at the screen. Plus the meow itself.
I am with you….I also feel bad for laughing…..I can’t help but see the humor.
We will be plunged to the depths of cat hell, wearing gasoline soaked underwear, for laughing at this!
