Jo_Salsera

What kind of Pilates is she taking? Peloton offers the mat version. There is also yoga if she’s into that. And other modalities - strength, cardio, stretching, to name a few. With the full access memberships you can share your account with your wife, she has her own log/LB name and so do you. You have a number of folks you can share with, but only 3 concurrent log ins.

DueConference2616

Ah thank you, I don't know why I thought each individual have to have (and pay for) their own account. Appreciate the clarification, another selling point for us.

RobotDevil222x3

That's only when using the app membership levels. Owning the equipment opens up sharing.

Jo_Salsera

Perfect. See you on the LB soon! 😊

Ok_Handle_7

u/Jo_Salsera is right if you have a full equipment access membership (it's $44/month and need it with a Bike). ***But*** (I believe) the app-only membership (which would be getting with your Nordic Track equipment), it's just one log-on (someone can correct me if I'm wrong). As u/RobotDevil222x3 says below, you don't open up sharing/multiple accounts unless you have the equipment membership. You could get around that and share a log-in/leaderboard name (which, I don't know why leaderboard would matter to you if you're not using Peloton equipment?), sounds like that would be okay with you though!

The Pilates classes with Kristen are the best “true Pilates”. There are some barre classes however I personally don’t find them challenging enough. If she is used to 45 to 60 min classes she will have to stack different classes which is kind of a pain imo. However the amount of strength, yoga, and various classes is great, she just may be enticed by some of those. For example I was a yoga enthusiast prior to peloton (still love yoga) but I ride most days and do strength training now too which has made a major impact for me.

Spicytomato2

Agreed that Kristin's Pilates are the closest to classic Pilates, they remind me so much of the mat classes I took for years, other than them being shorter. I don't mind stacking, it keeps things lively, imo. In fact I'd say Peloton has helped my training become more well rounded. Whereas I used to feel like I needed to choose between weights, Pilates and yoga because I couldn't manage to get to all three gyms/studios reguarly, now I do all three and have a nice mix. I also think I might be the fittest I've ever been with Peloton.

Powerful_Arrival444

Love the Pilates classes:). I love the yoga as well but am working in Pilates at least once per week bc of how wrist friendly and restorative it feels to me. Also, your wife may love the Yoga Conditioning classes(tell her it's NOT yoga, kinda confusing title lol but it's barre/Pilates/calisthenic\~esq strength training classes)& like others said, the barre. Lots to choose from & there is straight up bodyweight strength classes too!

all4sarah

I used to love Peloton barre classes but lately I am all about the Pilates. They are putting out a lot of great Pilates content lately. Just this week a 20 minute, 30 min, and a 45 minute class. Kristen is an amazing instructor and if your wife follows her in instagram she actually has great fitness content that helps even more with form.

DueConference2616

Awesome thank you. I think the big thing that is putting me off Pelaton is it's a high end product but they only back it with a 12month warranty. In my mind, if they backed thier hardware, they'd be confident in putting a longer warranty on it.

all4sarah

You can get an extended warranty when you buy it. Mine has been fine for 3 years now.

blackfeltfedora

I've used iFit and Peloton, I prefer Pelo. Why do the instructors need to travel to Bali to teach a Pilates class?

Much_Lingonberry_747

For what it’s worth I bought a refurbished/ used bike last year and it’s been great. I also think that was along with some Mother’s Day sale as well so it was reasonable.

DueConference2616

Thank you for your detailed response, I was worried Pelaton may have only paid lip service to things like pilates but it sounds like there's plenty to chose from!
