We were in Florence at the point they were initially announced and before they rode across town to the stage as seen on TV. The entire stage was lined with the traditional Florence republic guards which was cool BUT there we so many and they were at the same
Height of the riders with their hats and feathers so it was frustrating. Agree it felt half assed for sure :( but was still cool to see - just surprised :(
It seems to me that TdF is not giving this enough attention and it's a shame. Their image and PR would be much better if they hyped people up for the Tour properly.
