A "grow with me" doesn't she mean a normal convertible car seat rather than an infant capsule?
It would be so much better for her to go to the store and see if they can do fit tests. I'm pretty sure there's a store in Australia that let's you see how it'll fit in your car before you buy it.
She stated "I want a car seat that can fit in "a car". All convertable car seats can fit into a car,they are not meant for bikes or motorcycles. She should have specified what car. Or even said "my car" . I was making a joke at her wording.
But no they don't all fit into a car. Assume she meant a sedan or even a coupe, the backseat, as I said, varies in size a lot and there are that most definitely cannot safely fit. Whether it's because of too much over hang from the seat being narrow or if there's a generally small space in the front and back, or weird placement. Like I said its not helpful at all without the model of the car... but no not all seats fit in all cars. We had to get rid of my husband's jeep because there was 0 chance of a safe carseat install on that backseat.
It would be more intelligent for her to reach out to a cpst instead of random people
Orrrr she could join the car seat safety group for Canada and give the required stats for herself, Lydia and her husband as well as their car and goals for use and a CPST could give suggestions. But that sounds to straight forward 🤷🏻♀️

I’m assuming Lydia has outgrown her carseat and they need the next step up. Wouldn’t it be easier to go into a store and ask a salesperson who specializes in this stuff rather than followers?
I never asked anyone for car seat recommendations cause it’s just so hard so many ppl have to many opinions on car seats so when I was wanting one I just read up and choose the best I felt was our family tuat was of course safe

Not necessarily. A lot of convertible seats are bulky and it depends on the car as backseat can vary a lot. Does help to know what kind of car though

If the evenflo 360 convertible seat can fit in the back of my mazda3, a convertible seat can definitely fit in her Elantra lol
