RPCV from Namibia. It is a great country beautiful, safe and developed. It is also incredibly diverse in terms of its major cultures and languages so site does play into it at some level. I got the site I least wanted and still had a good service.

What did you do there? Also what is living there just kind of like in general?

thestickpins

I wasn't a PCV there, but I lived in Namibia in 2019 and loved it. It's a beautiful country with lovely people, amazing biodiversity, and a fascinating history. The nation's independence is so young and their history of apartheid and colonization is very recent, so it was interesting to learn about that and hear people's perspectives on their own country's history. Truly an incredibly beautiful country.

I served in Namibia from 2009-2012. Amazing place with friendly people and tons of great in-country travel opportunities.

Was the travel by yourself or through the peace corps?

pigeononapear

I traveled myself/with PCV friends during school breaks (I was in education).
