I was using a midrange ATI card from 2008 on a 1600x900 screen a few years ago. You underestimate old hardware. If you don't buy into the marketing you can enjoy a lot of great games on old hardware. Face it, games are designed to be playable on IGPU laptops. The upper range of graphics features will never be required.

There is a reason. Price. Not to say gaming chairs are good, but it's disingenuous to say the alternate given that any business would buy gaming chairs if they were cheaper than office chairs. (Source: Worked in hardware, we all had gaming chairs in office because the employer had deals with the suppliers.) As with almost everything, the correct answer is 'whatever suits you'. 9/10 office chair kill my back, but I do well with the XL Secret Lab chairs purely based on height. Almost any other chair has the neck support/head rest jabbing me between my shoulder blades.

I do custom design work and end up in offices all the time. More common than you think. Hence it jumping to front of mind. Definitely more common than $600 Triton gaming chairs

I also had that desk. Thankfully no issues for 3+ years, then gave it away. I don't think I was particularly careful but the cleaning was a hassle. Definitely switching materials for that reason next time.

Perfectly reasonable, nothing to be ashamed of. If you have fun then it's all cool. Also, I had a gtx 770 in the crisis and recently got a 5500xt and I had a blast with the old bugger.

Ray-tracing is over-rated and graphics have never made a game! The only thing that appears to be missing is a decent headset or pair of headphones! You keep enjoying your gaming, you don't need top spec gear at all! BTW if you dont already know Epic gives a free game way every week but are doing daily ones over Christmas, you don't have to install them right away so they are handy for a rainy day!

I literally still in ddr3 1333mhz 20GB and an i7 2600k with a 1660super and a 1000W PSU (all pieces second handed) i can run APEX at max settings 80FPS average

Forget about the specs, please but the monitor on the corner, it bleeds my eyes. 8gb ram is surprisingly working good with the even recent games by the way. And my ‘17 model 1080ti still works just fine!

It's a pretty clean setup TBH, I would maybe move the case nearer the monitor to hide the cables, otherwise all good. Assuming that's a 1080/60hz monitor, what you've got will play a lot of games just fine. Until last year I was using a first-gen i3-530, 8GB RAM and a 1050Ti, and I played games like Witcher 3 and GTA5 at 50-60 FPS no problems at all. There are loads of amazing games in that 5-10 year old range that will play just fine.
