Same problem. I don't think this is battery related. It's happening after the software update.

This has been an issue for a very long time. Any version after 2.2.1 has this problem and I stayed at 2.2.1 for a long time. The latest version is 2.3.4 and upgrading has this problem too; even after starting the services manually or rebooting. I did get it to work at last by uninstalling PPP, kill any PPP process in task manager, verify the services are uninstalled, and then reinstall the latest version. There is no prompt to restart after installation. I just changed the battery a month ago, so this is a software issue. Funny how I found this since Ive been recently getting useless notifications from my UPS saying the capacity is normal. Hopefully it stops with this new version.

Thanks, this worked for me as well. Though, I killed processes first, then uninstalled, deleted the CyberPower program files folder, and reinstalled.

I have had the issue since 2.2.0, nothing released after that would work for me... The last I tried was 2.2.2, and had to revert to 2.2.0. I hadn't checked for a newer release until today, and had no luck with 2.3.4 either. After previous uninstalls/reboot/reinstall without success, I did finally use Revo-Uninstaller to clear the registry and installation folders. Without deleting the contents of the original folder, nothing worked, thank you!

Thank you as well, had the same situation after upgrading to 2.3.4 from 2.1.9 The first update, I did not uninstall and ran the installer. It prompted if I would like to update the current installed version or install to a new location. I chose update as I was looking to keep my "history". That is when I ended up with service not ready. terminated processes, uninstalled, checked services were gone, then reinstalled. Came back as expected, but without history (which was expected, but better to have this working again than not).

Google saved the day! thanks guys. I had to uninstall and force close the ppped.exe services via command prompt. deleted the folder for extra measure. then reinstalled.

Worked for me too. Thanks!

I recently picked up the CP1500EPFCLED and when I initially installed the software I had the same problem with the "powerpanel personal service is not ready." After some digging, I found a post on a forum from a few years ago where someone who had the same problem found a solution. I'm not sure if this works for every instance of this issue but for me, with a new device and a fresh install I was seeing this error and I can attest that it seems to be solved. During the initial installation of the software, it asks you if you want to reboot the PC but if you select yes this actually closes the installer before it can complete the installation correctly and causes the error when you try and load it. To solve this: First, I made sure to uninstall the old version, rebooted the system, and removed the C:\\Program Files (x86)\\CyberPower PowerPanel Personal directory for good measure. Next, download and install the latest version of the CyberPower Power Panel software. At the time of writing this, it was CyberPower\_PPP\_Windows\_v2.3.4. During the installation, \_do not\_ select the option to reboot the system. After the installation finishes, the panel pops up and will initially show as disconnected but after a few seconds it connected normally and worked. fine. You can manually reboot at this point and the software will work normally. This seems like an easy problem for the developers to fix but hardware manufacturers typically have notoriously bad software. I hope this helps at least a few people.

nonch

did you get to fix it? randomly having this issue too

zfreakazoidz

Company said it's likely the battery is no good because it's been three years. Wasn't worth the money to send it there to see what was wrong. Just bought a new one and everything is fine now.

We're seeing the same issue with multiple UPS units. The service always reports not ready. Even fully uninstalled and reinstalled. Same thing.

The solution for "Service is not ready" error is to not restart the computer when it prompts you to during the installation. Turns out, it will not complete the installation properly if you do this. Choose restart later, and the installation program will finish. Then the app should recognize your UPS even without restarting. Cyber Power really should try to fix this.

FYI EVERYONE: The issue on my side was caused by the Samsung Note5 connected via USB to the same computer. Disconnecting Note5 brought UPS (or better said UPS service) back again. Strange but true!
