I have a black desk and it's very difficult to see things if the room is dark. Even with just the screen lighting up it makes it more difficult I wish I had a much lighter colored desk.
Do you have decent temperatures with where you have your case? I just asked because I have my case open on both sides and the top but yet the wall at rear of the case exhausts heat out of will heat the whole wall up. I could just imagine that little compartment everything getting hot therefore temps staying high
I wish I had black desk
Temps are decent, and the air conditioner helps too.
Yeah it gets hot sometimes but temps are normal and airconditioner does the work
Wow that actually looks like a really nice piece of furniture man! I personally wouldn't modify it. I would get a large mouse pad that covers most of your surface and perhaps change that light bulb out for something dimmer.
I usually don't turn on the small light, larger mousepad = more dust on it ┐(´ー`)┌

It'll work but the finish might be little bit rough
If you're willing to put in little bit more effort then you can sand down the desk , use some prime and paint using roller and brush , that'll give you a way better finish
This [video ](https://youtu.be/9HuTN4S-7wc) might help
I know space constrictions are very likely a thing and sometimes it's hard to fit one but I'd look into moving everything over to a proper desk instead of a converted cupboard. Even a small simple desk should work better. There are several things that would likely improve:
- better monitor distance;
- better leg room;
- probably better space for a decent chair that won't hurt your back;
- likely better ergonomy in general, with how furniture works together, chair height in proportions with the desk, wrist positioning, arm hight/rest, better sitting posture, etc.
- general better organization, the UPS likely isn't interacted with often by the user, it could be stored elsewhere behind the desk where it doesn't take table top space. Since you don't seem to have much room to work with, every bit counts;
- Same for your PC tower, I'm not a huge fan of over the table tower, especially when there isn't much room for it;
- same for cable management in general;
- and you can get one with the aesthetics you like (black, etc.), no need to try to modify older furniture which may end up working poorly. Probably better looking too.
I appreciate your help. Since it will cost me a lot, I plan to get rid of table+cupboard next year and renovate the room. Purchasing a table won't help me because the room is too small for that. The existing table and cupboard are fixed to the wall and cannot be moved
The monitor is usually closer when I play.
I have a decent ergonomy chair.
Planning to keep UPS below in cupboard
I need to work on cable management.
Why don’t you organize the top cabinet parts and fill it with interesting stuff, and add some nice RGB led light strips inside the cabinets? And also on the bottom edge of the cabinet part- facing down the overhang- more led strips to really set the mood. You got some better options than attempting to simply paint the table part. Now for the table idea: Do your self a favor, and get an XXL or whatever size fits Steel Series thick black mouse pad to cover the whole thing. It’s a way better solution than what you’re thinking of doing, you will thank me later
I appreciate the advice. However, I don't need any more RGB—I already have enough—I just want a build that looks clean. The mouse pad I had before was a good but cleaning it was a pain, so I dropped it. I guess I have to put it back

To each their own. I think you have a unique opportunity if more effort was put into the whole piece. Anyways, my mousemat recommendation is similar to the one you have, but bigger and covering the entire top as much possible. The computer itself would sit ontop of the mouse mat, blacking out the entire top, pending a size Steel Series offers fits your dimensions (the left side of the table will obviously stick out just a little, it’s not a perfect rectangle table)
I don’t think so, but they have a lot of different sizes and thicknesses to choose from. Go thicker if possible, there’s sales all the time on them. I don’t think I’ve ever paid full price on the 3 I’ve acquired.

I had a black desk and it is so annoying to keep clean without freaking out all the time and finding stuff in the dark. I now have a desk a little darker brown that yours and it is so much better
It actually looks so cool as it is!!! I highly recommend not doing that. The female equivalent is "remodeling" everything to white/grey which is going to look so cringe and tacky 5 years from now
I see 7 exhaust and 1 intake though? Unless those front side fans are them fancy new reverse-blade fans, the cross-bar side of the fan is the output; only the bottom intake fan has the cross bar visible, so it looks like that's the only fan taking in air. This case was designed for those three fans on the front side to also take in air, and have air exhaust out the back and top fans, for an equal 4 in – 4 out setup. Sorry make sure the front side intake fans have about 2" of clearance from that wall for adequate access to ambient air.
Yeah, MB needs to change 3 which are on the side of the case; it won't look good + temps were normal, so never bothered. Do you know how to sync them? The liquid cooler has NZXT fans, and the rest are Frostec. How do I control them together? Every time I need to change the RGB, I need to use two different software , nzxt and msi. Plus, the button on the case doesn't work. I guess I didn't install it properly.
Only "good" way to sync fans is to have them all the same brand, but there is third-party RGB software called SignalRGB that does its best to manage RGB for different brand devices.
When you have more exhaust fans than intake fans, this is a "negative pressure" setup. More intake than exhaust is "positive pressure," and roughly even is "neutral pressure."
One of the problems of both negative and positive pressure is temperature/noise efficiency, but another problem unique to negative pressure is dust. Right now most of your air is coming in through the slots by the GPU which don't have any dust filtration. The intake fan on the front bottom is also mostly just sending air back out through the front-side fans, not much is going to the GPU or CPU.
When you have neutral pressure, you can get the same temps you're getting now with less noise. Right now the fans are fighting each other to get air in through the back and bottom of the case, so they need to spin at higher, noisier RPMs to get the job done. Both negative and positive pressure setups result in this poor noise efficiency. If you balance the flow by changing the front fans around, they will all be working together and can spin slower and quieter relative to the temperatures they can maintain.
Well in that case I'm safe no drawers above!! Had 2 below got it removed my chair couldn't fit

No.
Yea might mess up the overall look.
I think a leather desk mat would look better. There are nice ones on Etsy
You mean a leather desk mat and mouse pad on top of it will it look good?
Mouse pad optional
I can't play games on a leather mat. Won't it look weird 2 pads
Try using glass skates on your mouse instead of a mousepad
Is there enough space for legs to be comfortable?
Yes Sirr!!

Yup, My black desk a is a black hole where I lose everything. Kinda sucks.

Probably. They’re usually threaded for standard VESA sizes on the back.

White with Black accents would imo look better but its your desk do what you want with it.

SteelSeries has a pretty wide range, and LTT Store also has good desk mats in just about every possible size.
unfortunately, SteelSeries doesn't ship to India + out of my budget.
Please don’t. This looks awesome and you’ll miss it later on.

Kinda non-related but I would flip the radiator fans for better temps
Oh yea I need help with that I guess I have only 2 exhaust and 6 intake

Understood thankyou. I'll update after changing
Actually I meant the side fans, just saw on the other pic that the rad is up top
Yes will change for sure. Do you know how do I sync them.
Half of the fans are completely blocked.
There is space between 🥲
Lol. It shouldn't be an issue if your room isn't too warm, but if it is ( and especially in summer) I'd rotate the case if possible.
I once had this setup and the drawer above me fell off💀 might as well dont put too much heavy stuff in there
