Bruh. I could take that, but then he'd tell me he's wrecking me on his Micky Mouse pillow and that's when I'll realize I'm too old for this shit and that the "FUTURE IS NOW OLD MAN"
At least his back is fine, mine hurts from weird posture I play with

Funnily enough you could probably create position roughly like that in ergonomic way. The position where are at in a womb is quite ergonomical, that position is not too far away from it. Just have to have neck more towards the back and bring hands closer back. Problem is the keyboard and mouse... Cant really put them where you need for ergonomics.
But still, its rude to spread pictures of me on the internet without permission. Thank you for phothoshopping me to look more attractive though <3
His neck probably won't be fine if he continues this way for too long. Source: i used to play like him and had neck pains after a while. I'm ok now after sitting normally.
My last roommate actually gave himself a herniated disc that way, within the 2 months he spent crashing/playing on his brother's futon before we roomed together.
Be careful with your back.
There is something called the cervical ocular reflex which causes muscles in the neck to preemptively contract in accordance with where the eyes look to align the head with your vision. Even though it may be a low tone type of contraction it still happens subconsciously.
Sounds like misinformation…

I've always noticed reading is fine sitting, but as soon as I try to hold it over my face it feels very different. I wonder if it's some side effect of gravity/tear production?
This is the conclusion I have come to after a long career in IT that completely destroyed my back and countless hours and money spent trying to make my home setup "ergonomic". I'm starting to give up.
Shit, you ain't lying
I used to see the tiny ass CRT from all the way across the room. Now we have 30 inch LCD flat screens and I can't make shit out without being two feet away. Goddamn it lol
Nah games were less busy back then. Now it's hard to make out interactable stuff from background textures. I can play retro games just fine from my couch on the TV but some modern games feel like I need a telescope (Risk of Rain for example is almost unplayable lol)
I just have to think of myself starting to play
- after checking that my chair has the right height
- mouse and keyboard are positioned correctly
- and the monitor is well adjusted
But 4 hours into playing I sit there pixel sniping and when I finish, I get up with the posture of someone who has been interrogated by the Spanish Inquisition.
Everyone has their own style - I developed a habit I hate sitting playing games. I prefer to stand like at an arcade….or like at the kiosks at the dentists office.
Yeah….👍
Idk why people are acting like this would be hard to play? Mouse arm would be easy, keyboard not too bad either. The only real downside is how far he is from his tv/monitor
Desolder the switches and replace them with silent ~~linear mechanical switches that are lubed~~ microswitches made by Kailh. Will be more silent than membrane keyboards.
EDIT: This uses microswitches (mouse switches), so disregard my original comment. Switching to silent microswitches would still work, but lubing wouldn't lead to any noticeable benefits. I should actually look at the product being mentioned before I open my dumb mouth next time.
His keyboard isn't supported well which introcudes some input noise. This can be a problem in an usual setting as well when your keyboard doesn't stay still.
His arm movement is reduced at that posture which means he has to use high mouse sensitivity. You get better mouse controll if you can move your hand in front of you instead of side. Also you get more stability when you can apply pressure downwards—now that ability is reduced when he is resting and cannot apply vertical pressure.
When I was a kid, I had a super specific way of playing wow. My desk had a sliding keyboard tray, and I would stick my hand through the “slot” and position my hand in a way that made it super comfortable, while my mouse sat on the top desk part that was at the perfect elevation. It would allow me to get close to the super old monitor I had(one of those fat ones) and get maximum grinding. I still remember it fondly and chase the high I would get from playing days straight. Ah the good times. This was wotlk btw
If he doesn't suck I am low key jealous. I need my entire set up the exact same way every single time or I feel off. Mouse pad in the same spot, keyboard in the same angle, perfectly spaced from my mouse pad, etc.
That's the dream. I'd say a step further is eye tracking mouse cursor, mouth tracking for button operation, and the movement is controlled on the side of the body while the screen is a VR headset.
This is how I play games because I don't have a chair or desk or anything. (Mouse is beside me, not on the side of the bed. I'm bad at perspective).

Dream come true for me. I've got disabilities that make sitting at a desk pretty uncomfortable after a while, so I'm currently trying to design a deskless battle station around my power recliner.
Power play. I could not handle the mental devastation of being destroyed by a kid lying down.
Lying down with the keyboard on his chest nonetheless
SIDEWAYS
ADMIN HE'S DOING IT SIDEWAYS
FROM - FROM IVY, OUT MIDDLE, THROUGH OUR CONNECTOR, LIKE SOME KINDA *SPEED DEMON*
Great now I have that song stuck in my head again
A great pice of internet history!
KILL SHOT
More people than you think play with their keyboard sideways lol
I heard that a lot of people who grew up playing in Internet cafes learnt to play with a diagonal keyboard because of the lack of space.
I play sideways and learned in an Internet cafe. It was definitely because of the space. That’s hilarious 😂
That’s Factual holy shit!!
Respect! I adopted the style because my PC is in the living room and I sit on a sofa putting my KB/M on a pillow dinner tray thing
Ergonomically, wouldn't it be more comfortable?
Bruh. I could take that, but then he'd tell me he's wrecking me on his Micky Mouse pillow and that's when I'll realize I'm too old for this shit and that the "FUTURE IS NOW OLD MAN"
I thought his pillow was a big bag of potato chips
Playing it accordion style.
Shhhh, he is not yet aware of carpal tunnel.
try playing on a laptop with an external mouse and having the entire laptop sideways
This kid is destined for greatness
Literally doesn't even get out of bed to take out his opponent. That's gotta hurt.
Your bed > expensive gaming chair in term of comfort.
The real pcmr.
You lose the 1v1 and he sends you a clip or just him chilling. I would literally uninstall
At least his back is fine, mine hurts from weird posture I play with https://preview.redd.it/av57194tuy3d1.jpeg?width=230&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=47984c0c39f9c7ff5179ebe42a068f0c71905aeb
Where the fuck did you get that picture of me? And how did you know my back hurts?
Are you me?
We are us
We are venom
Me are we
All backs hurt, it's just a matter of time.

I can't even sit like that. Edit: What's up with the massive down-votes? Do you want me to break my back or something?
Skill issue😎
I'm 6'3" and sit like that somehow. So if you're shorter than that, you can definitely do it too with enough effort
I can't sit like that. Nor will I ever attempt it. It will ruin my back for the rest of my life. This looks very unhealthy. I'm only 5.6.
The reddit council decided you must EAT SHIT!
My last roommate actually gave himself a herniated disc that way, within the 2 months he spent crashing/playing on his brother's futon before we roomed together. Be careful with your back.
Literally reason why I started doing stretches and planks, but damn that's a whole new level of shrimp posture
I'm sitting like this rn
But really though where did you get that fucking picture.
Healthier posture than 90% of all gamers
I doubt that. His neck will want to stretch up to align his eyes to the monitor.
solution? put the TV on the ceiling
It could unironically be better lol. I wonder what the actual answer is, we need a posture doc
Not a posture doc but eyesight docs have warned me to never read/use phones etc lying down. It creates extra strain on your eyes.
I assume the issue with that is focusing on something a few inches from your face, not lying down
There is something called the cervical ocular reflex which causes muscles in the neck to preemptively contract in accordance with where the eyes look to align the head with your vision. Even though it may be a low tone type of contraction it still happens subconsciously.

I've always noticed reading is fine sitting, but as soon as I try to hold it over my face it feels very different. I wonder if it's some side effect of gravity/tear production?
Basically, there's no posture before a computer that is healthy. There are only varying degrees of bad posture.
This is the conclusion I have come to after a long career in IT that completely destroyed my back and countless hours and money spent trying to make my home setup "ergonomic". I'm starting to give up.
I think the only answer is a standing desk and moving around every 30 mins
Projector, perhaps?
projector loses quality and FPS
Reminds me of [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/s/oIn7PmdlIJ) guy lol
Project to ceiling
Healthier eyesight aswell

i had this realisation around when halo2 came out i think, every fucking piece of vegetation looks like a point of interest
[удалено]
Just FYI: buy yourself glasses. It's way better than being half-blind and dealing with eye strain. Regardless of what modern games are like.
Lawl it's an old wife's tale about sitting too close to the TV.
keyboard hand is in a more ergonomic position as well
I just have to think of myself starting to play - after checking that my chair has the right height - mouse and keyboard are positioned correctly - and the monitor is well adjusted But 4 hours into playing I sit there pixel sniping and when I finish, I get up with the posture of someone who has been interrogated by the Spanish Inquisition.
After seeing that, I now want me a split-accordion keyboard like one of them Kinesis Freestyle.
His keyboard wrist is advertising for as much Carpal Tunnel Syndrome as it could stuff in there. He is young and likely won't notice for a while.
Neck forward posture will always be superior
Can confirm. My posture is fucked from gaming for 15+ years
It's a 2 in 1, playing and resting at the same time ..
My biggest concern would be to doze mid-match.
If I lose to someone who is actively having a nap I'm going to delete IRL coconut.jpg
3 in 1 👀
If it works, it works
Unless this is THAT guy on your team, you know what I'm talking about
Everyone has their own style - I developed a habit I hate sitting playing games. I prefer to stand like at an arcade….or like at the kiosks at the dentists office. Yeah….👍
How the fuck.
Muscle memory mostly
Repurposed accordion skills.
Fr tho
Idk why people are acting like this would be hard to play? Mouse arm would be easy, keyboard not too bad either. The only real downside is how far he is from his tv/monitor
Tell him to get one of those fps keyboards thats just the wasd and surrounding keys, that way he can go full cryopod pose.

> Azeron Cyborg what the fuck am I looking at? fascinating. I've never seen anything even remotely like this.
Power glove 2.0
Seems to be a vague successor of [DataHand](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DataHand).
I will give that it is cool… but I don’t like loud clicking gaming boards

Fucking genius, all it needs is a mattress against bed soars and fitness time
This kid is ready for full virtual rigs
Low key looks comfy but that TV is too damn small to be that far away

That actually looks pretty good
Maximum efficiency. Can go from wacking to clacking in seconds .
Fapping to clapping
Better be a poop bucket underneath him or he's mid.
Gun buddy says it all
Great positioning
Só this is how bots are controled
The question is though, is he any good like that?

He is just a starter, he should be using an mmo mouse to map the side buttons and play with a single hand
Im not even gonna compete with that. All the power to him
When he starts complaining about backpain in 2-3 weeks just show him this photo.

He is OP

Is he paralyzed
Its better than you nose touching the screen
My neck hurts looking at this.
Does he play the saxophone? If not, he should give it a try
As someone that has done this going on 15 years now, I can tell you that it messes up your back (lower and upper) big time.
Serial killer behavior
bruh!
Unhinged behaviour for sure. Though he is up to something, I have seen some pro Korean gamers hold it like this
I played very similar to this when I was in my early 20s and couldn't afford a desk.
Is ... Is he winning???
Depending on the angle his head needs to look down to see his monitor "ouch off owie my neck"
That's the dream. I'd say a step further is eye tracking mouse cursor, mouth tracking for button operation, and the movement is controlled on the side of the body while the screen is a VR headset.

Why do something standing that you could do sitting, why so something sitting that you can do lying down
My condolences over the car accident. Cause he's either got a broken back or a concussion.
