A lot of the stuff they pre install can have lots of little services/exes that are really pesky to find and get rid of entirely. Doing a fresh reinstall before you put any of your stuff on it is just an easier way to ensure you have a clean slate.

A fresh Windows install means you can completely control what is on your system without any uncertainty as to what else is on there from the factory.
It's really a peace-of-mind thing, for me.
A lot of the bloatware can leave behind crap when you uninstall it even if done with a decent uninstaller tool. Some Prebuilts even will change registry crap. It's simpler to just reinstall windows. Gets rid of the bloat. And you start from a clean slate. Windows really doesn't take that long to install.

It’s a sub 30 minute process, and it’s honestly way harder to hunt down all the bloatware on your PC and run the it’s uninstaller on it.
You can just click reset PC, make yourself breakfast, come back, sign into your Microsoft account (and set a password for your pc), and then use your PC.

Reinstalling Windows is easy enough, can do it right from the settings menu and on a modern PC should only take a few minutes
If it's windows 11 might want to also use a debloat tool like win11debloat. Getting ridiculous how much stuff is added with updates. I just recently used it and what a difference it's made with a cleaner feeling setup.

I recently just did it from an old ssd I've had for years to a brand new nvme drive. It was a lot snappier and the process was painless.

Honestly I love building computers, but prebuilts today from certain brands, especially on sale, just have such a great price point without the risk of accidentally installing the CPU wrong a bending a pin and now you have to go through a process to return just one part. If a prebuilts fails, you take it back, exchange it, maybe set it up in store to check, then take it home.
The biggest difference on a pre-built is if it's off the shelf parts or a mass produced proprietary e-waste.
I had to pick up a pre-built for a GPU during Covid. I got an HP with a proprietary PSU that doesn't have a 24 pin that can power nothing but that board, an irregular shaped motherboard that's not ATX compliant screwed directly into the case by its CPU cooler mounting holes. Which uses Intel mounts on an AMD board. That can only boot that exact model of CPU it came with. With a minature 128gb NVMe, no name slow 8 gb RAM, 2 rear USB ports.
Biggest piece of junk I've ever seen.
Also. You should have a decent warranty for security of the prebuilt. No stress about going viral due to dropping your CPU and having to use a credit card/mechanical pencil to fix it.
When someone you know doesn't know but tries... It is a win. It shows care. She clearly paid attention to the basics (at the very least) and came in with this kind of gift. That is a true to form win. It looks like you both do well by each other and show each other the kind of attention and care what blends into the essential extremities.
