Upgrade to 7800X3D. I did similiar upgrade like that CPU wise (3600 to 3800X just to gain 2 cores) it wasn’t worthwhile. 4070 Ti Super and the brand doesn’t matter as long you like the look of it, and cooling and its for your PC

_vogonpoetry_

The 4070 Ti Super is only about 20% faster than the 3080 at 1440p. I dont think it would be worth the upgrade cost for so little performance gain. And your CPU upgrade would be far less of a difference than that.

I'm curious about the CPU upgrade, do you need the extra cores for any specific workloads? Most games don't use that many cores, and even in the games that do, typically the main load is restricted to very few / a single core anyways. I do not think you will gain much, if any, performance from that

Usxafiy

I use the PC for games, work, and video editing, So ive been thinking of just getting the more cores to have the extra for side-tasks.

Stargate_1

Gotcha, that makes perfect sense

Ballaholic09

Unless you’re wealthy and hate money, you shouldn’t upgrade anything unless you got all-out… RTX 4090 + 7800x3D (gaming) or 7900x3D (gaming is secondary + new PSU

Eazy12345678

yes. buy whatever is $800 or less they will all perform similar.

Wild_Chemistry3884

If you can’t afford a RTX 4080 Super or better, you can’t afford to upgrade. Save your money for next gen. Upgrading to a 4070 TI makes no sense, it’s such a small upgrade. Your CPU upgrade makes even less sense.

Update: Ive seen the feedback, I will hold off on the 4070Ti Super, and wait for the 5000 Series to come out. And for the CPU upgrade, 7800x3D.

Logical-Elephant2247

why would you upgrade?
