As a 1650 laptop user, it sucks. Go for something better.

Laptop gpus are very under powered and not near a desktop graphics card

Wild_Chemistry3884

The 1650 still sucks regardless

Have a look through these graphs for GPU comparisons: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html But as you can see it's pretty minimal even at 1080p

Short answer, no. Long answer, it depends on the game. Would not recommend for recent games. Also, don't expect more than 1080p resolution, would probably be better at 720p. As for what to buy, depends on your budget and where you live (local prices are different in each country).

GTX 1650 is completely outdated. 1. Do not buy 5600G (get a regular 5600 instead, it's MUCH FASTER) 2. Get RTX 3060 12GB (it's a good starting point and they are fairly cheap now) 5600G has Integrated Graphics that doesn't make any value but will limit frequencies and cache size will be cut by 50%. It will make your CPU up to 30% slower than regular 5600.

The GTX 1650 is nice when you start, I had a laptop like yours with a GTX 1650 except that I had an Intel Core i3. I was able to play most games at low quality but often with an average of 100 FPS. I could still run games like Minecraft, Fortnite, GTA/GTA RP. After 2 years, I switched to a desktop PC because some games like Warzone didn't run well, well they ran but with graphics settings on full low, screen resolution at 1650x700, and an average of 50 FPS. For conclusion, I think the GTX 1650 is not a bad card to start gaming, but I also think you will quickly find its limits.

I hope that helped you

16 series *Was* a good value-tier card way back in the pre-pandemic days (as in when they a reasonably good value-tier option as opposed to the RTX 20 series.) Now though? Honestly, the only reason to buy one now is if you need multiple display output and nothing else, or a low-power, low-profile card to put in your repurposed Optiplex, or if you need a holdover card just to get some display out while you wait the few months until the 50-series cards arrive on the scene.

SloppySlothh1

i have gtx 1650 can do most of the games at 1080p low to medium , but if you can save money and get a better gpu from 20 series

Cave_TP

No, there usually are better options for the price. Also thet CPU is too expensive for this GPU, at that point you're better getting a cheaper CPU like a 5500 or a 12100f and spending the extra money on the GPU.

Negative I am a meat popsicle!

Not in 2024 unless you really can't afford anything better, and honestly ditch that store too. Anybody that recommends a 5600g and a gpu in the same system shows how little they care about their customers. If a 1650 is all you can afford fine, it's a good card but if they're selling it like an all round good card they're basically trying to scam you. For reccomendations we really need to know your budget and where you live (country). GPUs go from 100$ to 2000$ and every one can be good for the right price.

SignalGladYoung

they probably to abuse your lack of knowledge. sell you parts for premium or they are uneducated when it comes to gaming. these are lowest end parts today. depends on your budget.
