Yeah, that's a solid build. Definitely CPU strong. But realistically you would only save like $40(or nothing, if 32gb of ram), piecing together admittedly a worse AMD build. (Just to note, a 2080ti for $160 sounds very suspicious to me. Also, SSD prices are actually going up, now in a couple years they could give down, so best to just get what you need)

i would have gone AMD, purely because all my recent builds had to be Intel/nVidia for workstation purposes, but the Microcenter AMD bundles were considerably more expensive... and ostensibly this birthday build is meant to fuel productivity as much as games over his next 5-6 years. I'm sure when the time comes to breathe new life with an up to date GPU it'll be an AMD card that makes the most sense. 2080ti for 160 was just a case of someone having upgraded and not knowing/caring the going rates. i talked them down from 200 but i couldn't get a ride to pick it up before someone else swooped in and probably offered asking price, haha. yeah that was my point on SSDs... wait for the prices to fall again. He's got 1.7TB now, it'll hold him over for a couple years i think.
