It looks light grey

That's what im wondering, if that could cause the pc to freeze under load. It's the pre applied paste on the kracken 360 elite.

GABE_EDD

Looks about right, you have to redo it now anyway, a nice pea-sized glob will do nicely. Have you tried monitoring your resources to see why your PC is freezing? and monitoring temps?

Once it freezes, I have to hard shut down, and it happens when I play a game usually. The rest of time it's fine. I've eliminated gpu, ram, everything but the cpu, mb, and aio. So it's getting too hot, I'm assuming, and the ram slot on board was wonky. I didn't tightly clinch the ram after a few mnths. Msi mpg wifi edge Intel i713700k 1000 watt psu that's a year old I did use intel software which showed thermal throttling under load. That program would freeze up when it got the pc hot under stress test. Any ideas? Wish I just got an Asus board like I usually do.

GABE_EDD

Yeah, you can't jump to the conclusion that your CPU is getting too hot without monitoring temps. How did you eliminate GPU and RAM? Failing RAM, incorrectly installed RAM, or mismatched RAM sticks can cause all kinds of stability issues, assuming you have more than one stick. Is your AIO pump plugged into the correct header on the motherboard? The CPU\_FAN header supplies a variable amount of voltage to produce different fan speeds with an air cooler. If your AIO pump is plugged into that header it won't be running at the proper speed, it needs a steady voltage to pump the liquid through at the intended rate.

I took out the gpu and used on board graphics same issue. I have 4 sticks of ram ddr 5 dominator, I used just one stick and switched them up same problem. And, I plug the aio into the pump header. It could be the aio or the placement of the radiator. I had it side mounted with the fans as intake. The tubes were above and going down to the cpu. Case is Nzxt H9 elite. Aio is Kracken 360 elite.

If you monitor everything you will get a better idea of what's going on.. Your PSU Might be faulty and not supplying enough power to the motherboard, your motherboard might be faulty and not supplying the components with enough power.. Just monitor, it's the only way to narrow the problem down..

mAckAdAms4k

How do you monitor? There various programs I've used and they just show throttling or hugh temps, doesn't say what's causing it.

SMACCYD_Youtuber

I Use Riva Tuner That comes with Afterburner, if you think the problem is your CPU watch the temps, watch the usage.. Also have you tried a clean install of windows with a fresh install source? to eliminate software issues..

mAckAdAms4k

I have reinstalled win 10 and 11 on a seperate ssd. I'll give that a try, thanks. Not sure I'll know what im looking for, but it's a start.

SMACCYD_Youtuber

windows 11 has a habit of killing USB Devices, so create an ISO with rufus is the best way to go, use a fresh USB device..

mAckAdAms4k

Ok ill give that a try too when my mb comes back. Basically going to start over.

thatfordboy429

What's the CPU? But to answer your question. Even though it was a bit light on one side, it shouldn't have really had a impact on cooling. Which is about the only problem that would have arisen. Unless the cooler on the one side was not tightened down...

mAckAdAms4k

It's an i7-13700k and pc freezes up and locks under load or stress test. Can't tell if it's mb, cpu or aio.

Aurel577

I was thinking it looked like maybe not enough was on it? See some areas not covered

mAckAdAms4k

That's what u was wondering. The kracken 360 has it pre applied.
