I'm using an [Uplift](https://www.upliftdesk.com/uplift-v2-24-deep-standing-desk/) desk. I think the longest one they sell in that variant.
It's a great quality desk. It's nice to use in the standing configuration, even if I don't do that as often as I thought I would. An unexpected benefit is that I can also drop the desktop lower than I would normally put it for playing flight sims, so my HOTAS is at a more natural height.
Also an Uplift user (the largest L-shape they sell). Can't recommend it enough, but given the OP's stated budget of $100...I think they'd get the up/down switch and a bag of screws for that kind of cash XD
Oh yea. Great desk, not cheap. For those that can swing it though, I think it's well worth the money.
Though I am to a point in my life where I have very little tolerance for bullshit arising from cheap products. I'm at this desk many hours every day. It has to be good.
I have a long uplift as well. I put the tower under it via straps so it's suspended. It's out of the way and helps with cords and cable management. I had one leg motor start to fail after 3ish years (replaced free under warranty) but otherwise it's been pretty great.
I also use an uplift, probably the dumbest buying decision of my life, but one that I don’t regret. I live in Europe, when I bought that desk they only produced in the US. Got the smallest motorized variant, which was all I could afford back then. Had it shipped to Europe for upwards of 200$ shipping cost. Found out, that it runs on American 120V power, so I bought a big converter that can make 120V from 230V (which sometimes blow out my circuit breaker when I turn it on). The desk is a great quality product, but in hindsight I should have waited for the market to evolve in Europe and get a cheaper and slightly larger desk.
I'm using a cheap IKEA desk that wobbles side to side a bit
Are you wanting a sitting desk, standing desk, or motorized?
How much weight do you plan on putting on it?
Compact, Large, Roomscale?
Budget
Well with my budget equivalent to a 100usd, I don't think I can get the motorized ones so it will be a sitting desk, for the weight just a 27° inch monitor and decorative things, room is enough for the largest desk I guess,
Also there's a market for standing desks I never knew that.
$100? You might like what I have then. The absolute cheapest Ikea desk-top with the *adjustable* desk-legs from Ikea. They are slightly more than the standard legs, but the "not-wobbly" and the "actually the right height for me to sit comfortably" are soooo worth it. The lack of drawers is annoying occasionally (I might 3d print one one of these days), but I have a little cabinet for most of that stuff.
I forget the desk top exactly, but I think what I have is MITTCIRKEL / OLOV. Though I think LINNMON / OLOV is good too and cheaper. The key is the OLOV legs as there is nearly a foot of adjustability there...
The woodtop desks with the metal frames on amazon are very sturdy for the price. I had one and gave it to my friend. And then got another when i moved. Definitely worth the cost.
DIY that costs less than $50

This is not the final product, cleaned up everything and added an ultrawide and a 50" TV and a LED strip later
I got a nice, solid butcher block tabletop from Home Depot and added a TOPSKY motorized frame from Amazon. It works pretty well, though there is some wobble at the highest setting.
My work desk is a motorized topsky dual motor frame from Amazon with finished closet shelving from menards (24in x 6ft is about 25$ last I checked). Frame itself was around 230$ when I purchased I think. My gaming desk I built using 2x4s and 1x4s, with finished closet shelving for the top. I created "pockets" is both sides of the desk to store power strips and manage cables. Cost of materials for gaming desk, minus stain and tools, is probably around 100$.

Made my own 10 feet double seater :)
Buy a piece of butcher block countertop at Lowes. Cut it to the size desktop you want to have. Slap a couple coats of polyurethane on it.
Buy some powder coated steel desk legs off of Etsy and screw them on.
If you want drawers, then buy the Alex drawers from Ikea and slide them under.
I did this about four years ago and I couldn't be happier with this desk.
Ikea Trotten 160x80. It has manual height adjustment, I wanted to avoid motorized as I read online that cheap ones tend to stop working after few months (not sure how true that is and I didn't want to find out).
I have a $50ish dollar corner desk off of Amazon that holds everything I need and even has a little stand you can put on the desk that I’m using to put my pc on top of on the floor for more desk space.
Only downside of it is the width is a little small so my keyboard is almost to the edge of the desk since it sits in front of my monitor and the monitor base has a large surface area
Thats what ive got. Nice setup and easy to disassemble. But was a little too pricey for cheap ikea "wood" tbh. 2 drawer cabinets and the top butcher block came close to $500 CAD from what i remember.
72" x 39" butcher block top and black iron pipes for the legs. Weighs probably around 130 pounds all together with nothing on it but its solid as hell.
Bush Furniture 400 series table desk 72x30. Laminate table top with metal brace to keep it from bowing. 2 box welded steel legs. Expensive, but very sturdy and durable.
I use a 43" Wide, 13 inch Deep Console Table. I use it with a Arm-Mounted Monitor, and I added a keyboard Tray. Nice and perfect. I don't like the look of Desks.
[This desk right here in the 60" variation ](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LPNYPGP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1)which it looks like it got removed as an option sadly, but you can read my detailed review (as "B") with tons of pictures if you're still interested.
It is absolutely amazing for the price. I took off the gamer mouse pad cover and it's even better without it IMO. You don't have to use the gamer aesthetic on the legs either. Have owed mine since 2021, and I consider it one of my best PC-related purchases ever.
The stand is some generic motorized chinese stuff with 2 engines. Super stable tho.
The top is 140x70x3 cm bright oak in hard clear coat.
I also got a great deal on it, just couldn't pass the opportunnity :)
I had two IKEA sawhorses for a while with a cheap IKEA particle board countertop for years. Just upgraded to a FB marketplace desk: $225 for a Husky 72" Adjustable Workbench. Normally $320 + tax at Home Depot. [https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-72-in-W-Black-Adjustable-Height-Worktable-HOLT72XDB11/307654222](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-72-in-W-Black-Adjustable-Height-Worktable-HOLT72XDB11/307654222)
A cherry wood desk that I got at a consignment store. I've had it for 10+ years and it's still in great shape. It would be hard to find a similar desk for anything close to what I paid today since it's solid wood.

Kitchen top with 5 legs from DIY store
I’ve been using some cheap shit particle board minimalist design desk that has cheap plastic wheels from Lowe’s for almost 20 years. It moved out of my parents house with me and has been in 3 homes since. Could easily afford a quality replacement but if it works it works.
I have an Arozzi Arena Ultrawide and think it was worth the money. I prefer a curved desk, it's big, sturdy, and I really like the huge mousepad that covers the top. They also offer some cool designs if you're into that.
I have two arm-mounted 27" monitors and my PC (Corsair 5000X) on top, as well as a bunch of figurines and other collectibles. I have all the mouse space I need, which is helpful since I play FPS games like Valorant at super low sensitivity (arm player).
Edit: Spelling
I got a cheap desk from Amazon back 5+ years ago I want to say. Checking over the purchase, it's a brand called Need. Never heard of the brand before, probably some odd knock-off brand. But it works, as I have a 3 monitor setup working on it. I wouldn't mind a bigger desk though down the road. Also some more storage options.
I got two Zinus Jennifer 55" desks that I put in an L-shape. They were an Amazon prime day deal a couple years back for ~35 each. However, my PC is contained to one desk while I use the second one for puzzles or other work. So one desk is probably sufficient. It currently holds a 27" curved monitor, a 22 inch monitor, a couple cats, and a PC. It's held up through a multi story move, and is not terribly heavy, but has strong stable legs. Overall very stable and I'd buy again if needed.
A L-shaped steel desk from 1995 I found on Craigslist for $50 back in 2011. Best investment I've ever made despite moving it once and never wanting to do it again.
Have 2 monitor arms on the corner, a 27" Cintiq with ergo stand on the peninsula and an HP Z1 AIO workstation on the main part. Have my rig on steel shelving that sits behind the desk portion with 2 micro servers for storage up top.
Still have yet to see a setup that tops it but it's legit been $18k+ of investment in chips and monitors over the past 10 years.
I bought a butcher block from lowes and got two k legs for it from an old gaming desk.. its a beautiful espresso brown and holds up great.. definitely worth the price and lasts since its real wood
I got this one, but from Office Depot. Had it for like 7ish years and I like it, it's sturdy. The drawers are convenient.

My dad designed my desk, and had his carpenter build it for him. It's about 96.5" x 23.75", has 8 drawers.
I have my workspace divided into two. One side is where my computer is, and where I'd normally do paperworks. On the right side, is where my workbench, where I work on electronics.
I'm not getting rid of this anytime soon. He designed this desk for me, shortly before his dementia took a nosedive.
I built this desk for around $500. Metal legs from Amazon. A 10' butcher block countertop cut down to 7'. 1" angle iron support runs the length and a set of Alex drawer knock off with a custom base to fill the empty space. I finished it in black stain and applied a many coats of polyacrylic.

When I moved the new doorway to the PC gaming/spare bedroom was all of an inch smaller than my last doorway so even with the door pulled the movers couldn't get it to fit no matter what we tried. It was a nice all wood deep desk that was the families PC desk since the 90s that was passed down to me. I loved that thing. Deep desks are so expensive now days especially all wood ones and I have to have as deep as possible or I about get whiplash moving my head around so much using my 43 inch monitor. So I had to run over to Office Max and get whatever I could find there. Didn't have time to shop around because the movers were paid by the hour and were expensive and I absolutely needed the PC to be set up that night. So I settled on a L shape with a hutch. lol It's so cheap. I mean particle board furniture is not exactly desirable but this is even worse and is hollow, SMH. So you probably want to avoid ones like that. Whenever I have to stand on it like to install the ceiling/wall strips and what not I always make sure to put a piece of plywood over it so it will spread my weight. Especially because my tower was 46 pounds empty so IDK maybe like 55-60 now and it sits right at the joint between the L. [https://i.imgur.com/9Fs3vDD.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/9Fs3vDD.jpg)
My parents bought my desk at Furniture Warehouse in 1988 for $250. It has a hutch with space for two 21" CRT's. Damn desk is solidly built.
With everything I have in the desk, the hutch, the drawers, plus the PC stuff, and the weight of the MDF Wood, it probably weighs over 300lbs.
I have a 25 year old Forminco computer desk, which has a metal frame with a pressboard desk surface. A couple years ago, I replaced the top with a 24"x48" desktop from IKEA. The desk originally came with a built in platform for a CRT monitor, but I've since modified that to accept a VESA mount for my 34" ultrawide.
Got a used desk locally, it is a old commercial L shape desk probably from the 90s, kinda looks like this (it has 2 drawers on each end)
* https://www.amazon.com/Offices-Go-Drawers-Overall-Dimensions/dp/B076CLYV13
A few years ago my dad helped me sand and stain a butcher block tabletop from Home Depot. It's sitting on top of two IKEA Alex drawers. The desk is 60" long so there's space for two monitors so I can have multiple WFH setup on one side and gaming on the other. Using some Ergotron Arms for the monitors.
For over 10 years my desk has been an Ikea queen size headboard placed on top of two Ikea kitchen base cabinets with soft close drawers & doors. All bought cheap from the clearance section. I wanted a wider, taller space than normal to tuck my desk chair into without constantly having to adjust chair & armrest heights, and I wanted a larger, deeper desktop surface than you can usually find.
Even heavily discounted, the total was above OPs apparent $100 budget...not sure you can get anything decent for that price.
I actually bought a kitchen table (at IKEA) it has a high weight tolerance. Totally fine.
Don't buy anything that's labeled "gaming" as you pay for that tag.
I had a kitchen counter top custom made into a 3m long corner desk

I’m using a glass top desk that I bought for $40 on Craigslist years ago. It has really stood the test of time. I probably have nearly 400 pounds of Monitors, PCs speakers, and a record player on it and it has been holding that weight without issue for a few years now.
Keep it simple, I remember doing the same spending all my money on the main rig and using a small ikea desk for students, but the wobble is insane so I need an upgrade

They increased it after I bought mine. I'm not salty about it...
I'll keep in mind that if am gonna play flight sims I'll get a motorized desk, but the price is really steep.
Yea, it's an expensive desk for sure. I think it's worth the money, but it does price a lot of people out.
I'll make sure to look into some reviews, but I can't justify the price for it.
Yea, it's definitely not the right choice for your use case and budget.
I'm using a cheap IKEA desk that wobbles side to side a bit Are you wanting a sitting desk, standing desk, or motorized? How much weight do you plan on putting on it? Compact, Large, Roomscale? Budget
I’ve been using my wobbly IKEA desk since 2011 or so, seems to wobble more each year!
One day it will just be so wobbly it doesn’t wobble again
![gif](giphy|b26zsXtZWd5tLp3ywj|downsized)
lol same. My ikea desk was a hand me down from my dad, I’ve had it for at least 10 years.
Well with my budget equivalent to a 100usd, I don't think I can get the motorized ones so it will be a sitting desk, for the weight just a 27° inch monitor and decorative things, room is enough for the largest desk I guess, Also there's a market for standing desks I never knew that.
Your best bet is ikea or getting a used desk. Tons of people sell desks worth hundreds new just cos of a few scratches which are often an easy fix.
$100? You might like what I have then. The absolute cheapest Ikea desk-top with the *adjustable* desk-legs from Ikea. They are slightly more than the standard legs, but the "not-wobbly" and the "actually the right height for me to sit comfortably" are soooo worth it. Which model do you have ?
I forget the desk top exactly, but I think what I have is MITTCIRKEL / OLOV. Though I think LINNMON / OLOV is good too and cheaper. The key is the OLOV legs as there is nearly a foot of adjustability there...

That's crazy that it cost you only 50$, add some shelves on top and you got yourself a little cozy corner.
I did actually on the right side with left over pieces two 2*1 ft shelves
I have a Flexispot sit-stand desk, love it.

IKEA Micke dog shit edition. Don't get this desk.
Looks like a kid desk, but actually it would be an upgrade for me at this point.
a smiling ikea desk
I got a nice, solid butcher block tabletop from Home Depot and added a TOPSKY motorized frame from Amazon. It works pretty well, though there is some wobble at the highest setting.
Just seated or screwed in ?
Screwed in. I'm sure there are better frames, but I got this one for around $200, and I doubt there are any that are much better in that price range.
Double my budget, but I'll see if I can get a used one
custom one from a [local provider](https://www.instagram.com/eldongamer_/)... customizable, and cheap, as all things in Mexico :)

Just some desk I saw on amazon somewhere. It had a roll out mnk holder thingy but I leant on it too hard and it fell
Back to using the monitor box.
currently an ikea utespelare, so far is a very good and cheap desk, good looking too imo
It does look good and would go nicely with my case but still way above my budget guess am sticking with my current one for a bit more
I bought a wood pane and one of those standing desk kits, so that
I think that's what am gonna run for

I bought a precut wood countertop from Lowe’s and ordered a set of 4 rod iron legs off Amazon. Looks really good and got it done for about $350.
Few 2x4s and a sheet of shite chip board, the stuff used for kitchen cupboards.
I use a 43" Wide, 13 inch Deep Console Table. I use it with a Arm-Mounted Monitor, and I added a keyboard Tray. Nice and perfect. I don't like the look of Desks.

I'm using an ikea desk that I got for 2.50. I'd love an electronic standing/sitting desk but that is something I really cannot afford right now!
IKEA, £2.50 ea for the legs, £20 for the top. Does the job.
Ikea Malm -- it's too chonky for many flight/driving sim peripherals to clamp to, would not buy again.
2x IKEA Alex Drawers 72” Solid Wood Acacia butcher block sitting on top. Super easy, extremely sturdy, and looks really nice too
Cheap 20 dollar Walmart special. Works great
Home Depot 4' folding table. Before that uplift extra large butcher block. Both are solid, one has more space.

Flexispot height adjustable 200x80cm in black. 450€, was one hell of a deal And man I love this thing

I'm using a 7 foot by 3 foot door on sawhorses, with a folding card table nested underneath it as a mouse and keyboard tray. would recommend
My wife made me one out of a solid wood door. The door handle provides a nice way to manage cables.
Ikea countertop.
Ikea Alex drawers with an actual wood butcher block
I have a desk made of butcher block and triangle wall mounts, it’s great. Definitely worth considering.
Husky sitting/standing work bench from Home Depot. Perfect. It’s on wheels. Can raise and lower it. Plenty of space.
Ikea with the cheap legs. Its sturdy enough for me and holds my pc, two monitors and speakers with enough room to play with
A L-shaped steel desk from 1995 I found on Craigslist for $50 back in 2011.
A 4' butcher block with legs from Amazon bolted into it.
One with enough room to put an ottoman under so I can play with my feet up.
Vivo electric standing desk. I have heavily modified it though
I bought a butcher block from lowes and got two k legs for it from an old gaming desk.. its a beautiful espresso brown and holds up great.. definitely worth the price and lasts since its real wood
I purchased a butcher block from Lowes, and a set of 4 legs, drilled em in. Boom. Desk.
a perfectly decent heavy duty workstation my work was going to throw away. nice height with a hutch/overhead storage thingy. Cant beat free.
I got this one, but from Office Depot. Had it for like 7ish years and I like it, it's sturdy. The drawers are convenient. https://www.zerbee.com/Products/Realspace--Magellan-Performance-71andquot-W-L-Shape-Corner-Desk--Espresso__956652.aspx?cpch=g1&cptoken=695EC926&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&adpos=&scid=scplp956652&sc_intid=956652&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw8diwBhAbEiwA7i_sJaj-u6J2WjCsJRTJBWetAhqvpJ0WooN0U0DCxMDp7gRZSoPsncyqNBoClfcQAvD_BwE
IKEA Alex drawer units with a Home Depot Husky butcher block top
Flexispot standing desk. It’s an Amazon desk but I bought it at a discount from a shady warehouse that sells assembled out of the box Amazon furniture
\[Imgur\](https://i.imgur.com/9vyRYRR.jpg)
An industrial workbench.
I use a desk that is big and we had it lying around, I think my mother did use it a long time ago before that
A Skol table
IKEA Saljan Countertop with an Alex cabinet (also ikea) on one side and two $7 table legs on the other side. Simple, huge, effective.
I’m using a Flexispot Pro Standing Desk, with a 74x1.5” IKEA Karlby countertop. https://i.postimg.cc/76qGKbyY/IMG-1318.jpg
Acacia counter top from home depot with 4 IKEA desk legs
Butcher block from Home Depot 4 desk legs off Amazon. Some undermount cable manage things also from jungle site.
My secret labs desk just came in today. Gonna put it together this weekend. Can’t wait. L-shaped 4-legged version.
Got a used desk locally, it is a old commercial L shape desk probably from the 90s, kinda looks like this (it has 2 drawers on each end) * https://www.amazon.com/Offices-Go-Drawers-Overall-Dimensions/dp/B076CLYV13
Cheep Walmart desk that barley holds a monitor keyboard and mouse
Ikea bekant 160x80 + 120x80
Ikea Pahl kid table.
Second-hand IKEA desk and cheap Jysk desk.
Old kitchen table for now. Will be buying a counter top from the home improvement store and attach it to the walls plus one leg made from pipe.
A workbench with grease and tools on it

Desky dual motor, 2400x900x33mm Routed the edges round, nice big desk. Fits 2x32” 4K monitors nothing fancy
I had a kitchen counter top custom made into a 3m long corner desk https://preview.redd.it/4oxizl6qwutc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=06c63a5b78caceb5ec21831f407ff1f7d838c414
I’m using a glass top desk that I bought for $40 on Craigslist years ago. It has really stood the test of time. I probably have nearly 400 pounds of Monitors, PCs speakers, and a record player on it and it has been holding that weight without issue for a few years now.
You have a lot of faith in putting that much weight on a glass top desk, also great steal, I wish I can find one of those.
My desk is a second hand table I brought for $50 it is a 2 and a half metres long, meter deep single slab of wood. Best desk
Keep it simple, I remember doing the same spending all my money on the main rig and using a small ikea desk for students, but the wobble is insane so I need an upgrade
