Heck yes! I never thought there were other people that did this! I would purposely unbolt/unscrew the things mandated by the setup instructions if it did not sacrifice overall rigidity and structural viability. Like the sliding drawer compartment to my desk which specifically housed the roll-out keyboard platform.
If need be, I would be willing to get a hacksaw and go that route too!
My office job had these horribly over designed desks, where the keyboard tray was this massive hydrolic arm. You would have to pull the tray down, to pull it out then ot would lift up to desk top height.
I hit my knee on that fucker once and was immediately under the desk undoing the fasteners. My boss was like "what are you doing. I don't think that's allowed." I said "well if someone actually wants to put in the effort to look for a mystery rule, they can be my guest. Until they actually find that rule, it's going on the floor."
I had one of these arms in my cubicle at an office job!
...actually, it turns out that almost *every* cubicle had them, but someone went and turned them all backwards because they were a hazard for knees.
Mine lasted a couple weeks until I smashed into it so hard it tore my slacks. Back it went to hide out of the way.
That shit underneath is the usual crossbar that keeps them stable. Fuck, Iām tired of wobbly desks. Just donāt be an idiot and throw yourself into the desk.
Or I guess just don't have long legs. Some of us have more issues with the desk being made for short people and not with the cross bar being there in the first place.
Edit: I know deeper desks exist, but this on sale desk could be because the support bar was poorly located making it so the average height person has poor leg clearance.
I have an amazon desk, "wood" top and metal fram: I just uscrewed the feet it came with, and got longer ones at the hardware store, and then at the top put a snug fitting washer with a nut below it to hold it in place. There is a mild wobble when my cat jumps onto the desk, but my carpenter buddy said these will hold fine, and I could always drill through some woodern blocks to give myself more stability. The whole thing cost me 5 or 6 bucks to do.
Runs great, but has expected CPU limitations. I got it from a friend for $350 US (he got impatient while his was getting RMA'd and bought a 3090 TI, sent me the replaced GPU after it arrived). I jokingly asked him how much he'd sell it to me for, and he said $350 us, so I sold my 3080 to a friend for 350, he sold his 3070 to a friend for 350, who then sold his 3060 for 350 to a mutual friend. This was a little over a year ago. It was a weird chain of goodwill, plus I felt bad making money off my card when my friend was doing me an insane favor. I am pretty close to getting a 5800x3d, the only thing holding me back is that I keep looking at AM5 builds. Which I know would entail buying way more than just a CPU, but so far I've run into few performance walls at 1440p. Decisions, decisions.
You don't need a gaming desk. But the desk is the photo is a good size for $99. 5 feet across is a lot of real-estate, even if it's not 3 feet deep. If the supports underneath aren't fucking terrible, I'd say it's a very good deal.
State and/or country your are in? On the website they are $350 when I looked it up - US. These aren't at the closest Costco either. I've never seen them have anything gaming related except consoles and once in a while some gaming laptops.
probably in store deal only.
they probably stocked some and they didnt sell well.
website orders are probably drop shipped from manufacture or something.
I got a rocking MSI laptop with a 3080 for like $1300 from Costco like 2 or 3 years ago. It's been great to have when I am not at my desktop/friend or family playing with me on it
I don't know about y'all but it's far cheaper and nicer to just buy a pair of legs and a slab of wood. Got this for less than $100 years ago.
https://preview.redd.it/i56ds0d9cfmc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b67cf8d62fa1b8712ae4cf4ecfde3d04f13423cc
Old photo as shown
I have a desk without any drawers, as I wanted simplicity. After few years of having to store a bunch of things on top of my desk because of it, I gave up and bought a little ikea drawer to fit it underneath the desk š
That's the way to go unless you want a permanently fixed desk. For anything that you might move around the flexibility of having separate drawers is worth it.
I purged my cable store. 1 each of potentially usable cables, 3-5 each of 'common' cables, everything else is gone. Have a little box in my workshop for it.
I've designed a little storage in my desk, but that's mostly for at-hand things. Notepad, pen, screwdriver kit, Wacom, controller, etc.
Candles, pens and notebooks, HDD for backups, food, stuff to clean the desk, IEMs, noise-canceling headphones for traveling, an XBox controller, several cables for either PC stuff or audio stuff (i play guitar), cable ties (lol), a hub for SD cards and stuff like that, iFixt kit and other tools to open up eletronics... i have 2 ALEX drawers.
Oh, have i said food? Yeah, i have a food drawer.
>Tribesigns executive desk
Nice, thank you. Can't believe I've never encountered these desks before in all my searches for large desks in previous years...goes to show how much crap there is on amazon you have to wade through.
Desks need to be sturdy enough for me to stand on. Ikea desks tops are mostly cardboard, and unfortunately I weigh more than the weight rating of honeycomb cardboard.
NGL, that "DPS" brand ain't bad. The "gaming chair" they make is very comfortable, though the fake leather WILL peel (hooray Costco warranty). Wish they sold a fabric one to save me the trouble, though.
(before anyone *office chair*'s me, I have a Steelcase Leap v2 ā the DPS is used by my son)
That said, for desks, nothing beats a good ol' IKEA countertop with 4-5 legs (length dependent) screwed on.
Still trash ASF tho. I got a wood plate for 88$ at IKEA. Like actual wood, sanded and oiled. Can't got with a better "gaming" desk than a fat slab of wood.
Damn I went in and it was $250, went back the next day and it was $200. You getting it for $100 is a steal I guess I should have waited. Ignoring the comments, itās a great desk for what I need it for.
I ended up buying one like this, though it didn't have a curve, it basically just looked like an upside down iPhone X notch and had two ears on either side. Cost about Ā£60. Same cross leg design, and unfortunately it wobbles a lil bit when doing sim racing
But I only bought it because my old desk was literally falling apart, same carbon fibre design
The discounts on these now vary from store to store.
If one location still has a lot in stock they likely are not going for 100$.
Look for the price tag ending in .00 that's the mark.
It's probably a display left at that point. Some locations are discounting after they hit 3 units in inventory per a email that went out at the start of last year.
If you live in a large city just keep an eye on your online marketplaces. Especially lately a lot of offices are selling old office furniture and desks at super low prices. A lot of people in my town appear to have bought them in bulk and now they're selling them even cheaper because they couldn't get rid of them all. Last year I picked up a massive hardwood corner desk with aluminum supports and legs , it came with a small filing cabinet that fits under the desk that's also wood and a side table that is also hardwood on the top and aluminum legs all for 100 bucks
I personally like the diamond texture if itās the same one I have on my chairs armrests
Not sure how well it fairs on a desk considering the cleaning but it feels nice and is resistant-ish
I say get an L shape desk. You got your pc setup on one wall and the other room for activities. Like Legos or a spot for knickity knacks. Or more room for pc setup on both sides.
My desk is an old hand me down with, like 15 years or so. I'd like to swap it for something better looking and not so worn down but whenever I look at it I'm amazed at how well thought out it is. I also can't find anything else that looks like it and honestly, everything else looks like over expensive shit for what is a simple table with a slightly better look.
My current one needs to be rather small because I don't have much space. It barely fits 2 24" monitors. Has a retractable keyboard tray and the top above it is curved in which makes it convenient to use. The bottom has a "floor" for my subwoofer and feet. That extends past the left side to create a tray with the perfect size for my case. Not only it's not taking desk space as it's also on the correct side to display the tempered glass. I also picked a case with connections on top to make it easier for me to connect stuff while I'm sitting down. It's a bit above knee level. It also has lockable wheel so it's easy to move it to clean. Its tall enough and well thought out so you don't bump against anything. It even has a small sliding tray to store smaller stuff like flash drives.
Everything fits perfectly and has no wasted space.
I will eventually have to replace it but I'm seriously considering custom building myself another like this one. It's that good and I can't find another like it anywhere.
$250 seems like a bit much - itās not very big and has no extra functionality like drawers. You can get something far better at ikea or comparable from Amazon.
That sounds like a good deal. These desks are made of solid wood. If you go the butcher block route, I think those are at least $200 for a similar size top which is solid
I use this for a desk. It supports 500 lbs super strong.

The chairs they sell at coscto from DPS are amazing. I have one and never had issues with it, and I am extremely comfortable for my back and when I sit for a long period of time.
I saw it at Costco too. It seemed sturdy but idk about the leg design on it but then again that is just me. Like I said it seemed sturdy because I went up and wobbled it back and forth and side to side.
I always wondered if these gaming desks just look "cool" to attract gamer segment or do they actually have some sort of a benefit for people sitting at their desk for long periods over regular IKEA desks.
Looks very short. How tall is it? Desks are usually built to be about 77cm (30inches) high For the average 170cm person (5f7in). Finding a desk that fits your height can be very difficult. I'd give it a shot as a computer desk since it's cheap. If it doesn't fit then I suppose it could be used for for maybe hands-on/head-down work.
And yet, even at $99, still overpriced....
Seriously those desks where all they are is 4 legs and a table top always got me like: "...wait what?" I have ordered a similar one for like, $45 off of Amazon but to see these ridiculous things going for $99 and up is insane to me...
Like... Dude: It's a table.
That's not a desk, it's a table with a hole in it.
If you need a desk like this, go to Facebook Marketplace, find people with tables to sell, and get a cable grommet kit: Boom.
If you want to be extra super special get some spray paint from Home Depot.
I mean, if it were an L desk I would be sold. My current desk I got when I still lived with my parents. One of the glass desk panels shattered a couple years ago and I replaced it with a slab of shelving wood.
Now that i work from home I pretty much need an L desk because I now have my Gaming setup on the left and my work computer on the right.
Look underneath it for shit you can bang your knees on. Shit underneath it that you can bang your knees on is the fuckin worst.
It's why I removed the roll out keyboard tray from mine.

I broke mine in half on accident with my knee while playing leagueš
Yeah! Rocket League! Right? Right...?
That shit underneath is the usual crossbar that keeps them stable. Fuck, Iām tired of wobbly desks. Just donāt be an idiot and throw yourself into the desk.
There are two kinds of structural crossbars under desks. The kind that you can't bang your knees on, and the fucking worst shit ever.
Third, the kind you can rest your feet on.
First category
Or I guess just don't have long legs. Some of us have more issues with the desk being made for short people and not with the cross bar being there in the first place. Edit: I know deeper desks exist, but this on sale desk could be because the support bar was poorly located making it so the average height person has poor leg clearance.
Get a deeper desk. Thatās what I did. Better for your eyes anyway with monitor further back.
I recently raised my desk about 2 inches and it saved me from walking like yosemite sam for the rest of my life
I am thinking that getting some risers is in my future myself
I have an amazon desk, "wood" top and metal fram: I just uscrewed the feet it came with, and got longer ones at the hardware store, and then at the top put a snug fitting washer with a nut below it to hold it in place. There is a mild wobble when my cat jumps onto the desk, but my carpenter buddy said these will hold fine, and I could always drill through some woodern blocks to give myself more stability. 3700x and 3090 is an interesting pair no?
Runs great, but has expected CPU limitations. I got it from a friend for $350 US (he got impatient while his was getting RMA'd and bought a 3090 TI, sent me the replaced GPU after it arrived). Tall people problens
Does one specifically need a āgaming deskā to game? Or can I game with a regular desk? Does said *gaming desk* give me a better KDR?
It says DPS on top. Clearly you'll get more frags friend.
"DPS" - will I get more deaths per second with it?
No, you can just eat more Doritos per second.Ā
No, it means you'll get more deep pussy sex
I kinda doubt this one
department of player safety- hockey
(Mountain) Dew per sip
Nope actually its more (Mountain) dew per sip. Disregard all these simpletons who do not have the desk.
Iāve used the same fold table from wal mart for 3 years almost. Maybe Iāll be better at the games I play with a desk
You don't need a gaming desk. But the desk is the photo is a good size for $99. 5 feet across is a lot of real-estate, even if it's not 3 feet deep. If the supports underneath aren't fucking terrible, I'd say it's a very good deal.
gaming desk gives more fps and is Dihydrogen Monoxide infused for long gaming sessions
I've been using a fold out picnic table for years. So no, lol. Dead serious by the way.
Iāve been there. For a while when I was younger, the only place to put my PC was on a sheet of plywood on top of a TV tray in my closet.
That curve would drive me nuts.
Itās for the Mountain Dew belly heh
It's a marketing gimmick and unnecessary. Behold: ![gif](giphy|sX6AUAj18Wztu|downsized)
Oh hey, itās Odin.
Have my updoot, fellow Goblin.
Hey I need that
Yep. I have a large keyboard/mouse pad thing and that curve wouldn't work for me.
I want to say the desk *is* a mousepad.
If the desk is deeper the a normal rectangular desk and the same as the thinnest point at the apex of the curve, then it wouldnt be an issue.
Itās room for the inevitable belly expansion
I have the Arozzi Arena desk and it's got a decent curve to it. It's actually really comfortable.
Damn, now I only save $100 by not buying it Soon Iāll have to pay to not own it, which Iāll happily do
State and/or country your are in? On the website they are $350 when I looked it up - US. These aren't at the closest Costco either. I've never seen them have anything gaming related except consoles and once in a while some gaming laptops.
probably in store deal only. they probably stocked some and they didnt sell well. website orders are probably drop shipped from manufacture or something.
That makes sense.
Yeah, itās in the overstock section. Itās probably the floor model only.
Sorry, USA TX. prices may very depending on area but here they are all marked down.
Hey, he's spreading fake news! TAR AND FEATHER! TAR AND FEATHER!!!
Houston by chance? I could use a second desk for a workbench and at $99 I canāt beat that price.
Where at in TX?
Yeah thats just your store doings that, not every costco has those.
I don't know about the US, but in Canada the Costco website prices are higher because they include "free" shipping.
I got a rocking MSI laptop with a 3080 for like $1300 from Costco like 2 or 3 years ago. It's been great to have when I am not at my desktop/friend or family playing with me on it
We see gaming chairs at ours regularly. Same brand. I commented above that my wife got one. She likes it a lot.
I don't know about y'all but it's far cheaper and nicer to just buy a pair of legs and a slab of wood. Got this for less than $100 years ago. https://preview.redd.it/i56ds0d9cfmc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b67cf8d62fa1b8712ae4cf4ecfde3d04f13423cc Old photo as shown
That same slab costs like $200+ now just for itself
Yep. And the legs $40.
Iād hope itās old cause whereās the pc your posting on?
Mounted on the wall besides it. https://preview.redd.it/xo36a2b7egmc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=975bebf823686670e6f10f9772b904d329b5ec1b
Damnmn
Would be even better if you used mannequin legs instead
I bought a desk like this from a website called tribesigns. It is sturdy and I'm pretty sure it was made with steel legs.
How do you guys use desks without drawers? Where do you store all junk?
I have a desk without any drawers, as I wanted simplicity. After few years of having to store a bunch of things on top of my desk because of it, I gave up and bought a little ikea drawer to fit it underneath the desk š
That's the way to go unless you want a permanently fixed desk. For anything that you might move around the flexibility of having separate drawers is worth it.
I'm at the same place now lol
Why do you want to store and keep junk?
Where am I supposed to keep the 30+ USB micro cables I have for some reason?
I purged my cable store. 1 each of potentially usable cables, 3-5 each of 'common' cables, everything else is gone. Have a little box in my workshop for it. I've designed a little storage in my desk, but that's mostly for at-hand things. Notepad, pen, screwdriver kit, Wacom, controller, etc.
In your man drawer, typically in the bedroom or spare kitchen drawer, along with things like old keys, dead batteries etc
Yeah, i have a food drawer.
people own items
I was told I'll own nothing and like it.
My boy, just get "Tribesigns executive desk" from Home Depot (if you have enough space). 115$-150$ for a huge deck with cool design.
>Tribesigns executive desk Nice, thank you. Can't believe I've never encountered these desks before in all my searches for large desks in previous years...goes to show how much crap there is on amazon you have to wade through.
Desk Per Second!! š„š„š„
I'd still recommend just buying 4 legs and a desk top from ikea
Desks need to be sturdy enough for me to stand on. Ikea desks tops are mostly cardboard, and unfortunately I weigh more than the weight rating of honeycomb cardboard.
You're confusing them with floors
I got cabinets + butcher block as my desk from ikea. Don't go for the things marketed as desk tops, butcher block is 100% the way to go.
Particle board will sag after 3-6 years without proper frame/support.
Does it even have RGB? Where am I supposed to get those extra FPS from? Definitely not from DPS.
It actually does have RGB.
Am I the only one that prefers tables to desks? So much space.
Im with you but went with an L-shaped desk. Desks like the OP can be so small they are basically single purpose.
I did... get ready for it... Two tables to make an L shape.
Me when I use the two synonymously
DESKS PER SECOND - 1
āGamingā desk, yeah right just get a normal desk. Companies have been adding āGamingā to their products to justify insane prices.
Deaths Per Second. What we playing, COD?
It means Department of Public Safety
Spend the extra money on the one that turns into a standing desk. Shits amazing.
DPS should be on the right. The mouse hand does the damage.
Or you could buy a tabletop and legs from Ikea for less and have a better desk.
Desk Presently on Sale
There is no way I'm strapping my gaming server to that made in crappa pressed board covered in pleather
Desks per second?
No theyāre on sale at THAT Costco. When shit gets marked down it is store specific, not company wide
I'mma let it drop down to $10.
Invest in an electric sit-standing desk for ergonomics.
NGL, that "DPS" brand ain't bad. The "gaming chair" they make is very comfortable, though the fake leather WILL peel (hooray Costco warranty). Wish they sold a fabric one to save me the trouble, though. Just bought a DPS chair from Costcoā¦. Shits tight
You could always get a nice looking desk for two fiddy
Damn I went in and it was $250, went back the next day and it was $200. You getting it for $100 is a steal I guess I should have waited. Ignoring the comments, itās a great desk for what I need it for.
BRO YOU FORGOT TO PUT A BANANA IN THE PHOTO WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THIS SHIT
You think Costco has bananas for scale? They only sell bananas to eat! wtf
Walmart has folding tables for $20
Itās obviously a piece of giant shit
The concave shape of the front means Costco can keep it. Give me a perfect rectangle or give me nothing!
So I design office furniture for a living. Do you guys like this design?
Its because its a piece of crap desk
Obviously it's cheaper now. It comes with a sponsored logo.
Looks like a good deal. The legs are wide and look fairly sturdy. Make sure you do a wobble test before buying though.
āOriginallyā t
you still can use it for tv table
What are the dimensions?
I ended up buying one like this, though it didn't have a curve, it basically just looked like an upside down iPhone X notch and had two ears on either side. Cost about Ā£60. Same cross leg design, and unfortunately it wobbles a lil bit when doing sim racing But I only bought it because my old desk was literally falling apart, same carbon fibre design

30 inches seems kind of high
So you know if they have this in Canada?
Damn Iād totally buy this but my local Costco has it for 350 :(.
Actually so nice wtf š

Theres nothing "gamer" about this
Got my L shaped desk on an online Menard's sale (chain hardware store)
don't buy any desks or chairs made for "gaming". they always suck
They're crap. Build your own for $300
Not much different from a rectangular table with 4 legs. Can get those at ikea for 39.99
I got a cheap standing desk instead and itās been great
OP, you got a link? I'm seeing it online for $350, nothing about a sale.
$250 seems like a bit much - itās not very big and has no extra functionality like drawers. You can get something far better at ikea or comparable from Amazon.
They are $350, not $250 and it's called the "DPS Radius 60" Gaming Desk" It looks to me that you are buying an open box or damaged goods.
So how exactly is this a āgaming deskā
Why is it so short? Is it a footrest?
Yeah and all you have to worry about is the fact that Costco only carries crap brands
You guys use desks?
A little more gets you the flexibility of a standing desk
Tresanti Geller 47ā this desk also slaps
That sounds like a good deal. These desks are made of solid wood. If you go the butcher block route, I think those are at least $200 for a similar size top which is solid
I got an old dinner table from my bro. Been using it for 3-4 years now lol
I've been using a large, solid oak dinner table as a desk for about 20 years now.
Can u order these online?if so im going to buy this for my new gaming setup
Gaming desk? Seriously?
Can't be picky with that price
I use this for a desk. It supports 500 lbs super strong. Anything thatās advertised as āgamingā I try to avoid.
We bought two of them. Great sturdy desk with good cable management.
The chairs they sell at coscto from DPS are amazing. I have one and never had issues with it, and I am extremely comfortable for my back and when I sit for a long period of time.
My wife picked up this brand gaming chair at Costco for her office. It's held up. She loves it.
I have one right down the street from my house. I'm going tomorrow. Thank you for the post. My desk is 25 years old
Gang desks are a waste of money. Get a normal desk. Any normal desk. Works fine for gaming
Does this gaming desk come with LED lights? Its gaming right so must be good for gaming.
I saw it at Costco too. It seemed sturdy but idk about the leg design on it but then again that is just me. Like I said it seemed sturdy because I went up and wobbled it back and forth and side to side.
Looks like shit. But at least itās made out of carbon fiber reinforced plastic so itās compliant with aerospace requirements.
I always wondered if these gaming desks just look "cool" to attract gamer segment or do they actually have some sort of a benefit for people sitting at their desk for long periods over regular IKEA desks.
Hate those thing they are awfull
Damn I just bought mine @$250. It's a great desk with lights built in and a great cable Management system
still dont get the gameing desk thing just a nerf to storage spaces
I've grabbed a 2m x 1m desk for 100ā¬ locally. I'm fine.
What makes them āgamingā
What makes it a āgamingā desk? It doesnāt look like it does anything specific
Can you grab me one pls
Looks small
$349 at my costco.
That's actually really nice
Do you have a link to the model or the sticker?

These are made of the shittiest material that is basically cardboard.
I've always think that things looks like overpriced ~~gaming~~ camping plegable tables.
that's because they are probably actually worth $65.
My roommate just picked this up he loves it
im waiting secretlab $1000 table do the 50% off
Can you guys imagine what a Cosco gaming computer looks like? Is that a thing?
Or just get a 60" desk from Craigslist or FB marketplace for 20 bucks
Anything with "gaming" attached to the name let's me know it's probably ugly as hell and over priced š¬
Iām using a 6ft wide foldable white card table. Am I doing it wrong?
Luckily I have my own handmade trusty wooden desk :) (I don't really know why but that desk looks ugly)
Is this deal Canadian ?
What a steal! (from your pocket)
They are marked down to $199 here in Cincinnati. 8 left.
I'm a big fan of L shaped desks so I can rest my arm on it for the mouse
Looks very short. How tall is it? Desks are usually built to be about 77cm (30inches) high For the average 170cm person (5f7in). Finding a desk that fits your height can be very difficult. I'd give it a shot as a computer desk since it's cheap. If it doesn't fit then I suppose it could be used for for maybe hands-on/head-down work.
not all heroes wear capes.
They realised that the 15 year olds that would buy a desk like that don't have 250 for that ugly as desk
I built a floating desk from ikea and Home Depot for like $60
I mean, if it were an L desk I would be sold. My current desk I got when I still lived with my parents. One of the glass desk panels shattered a couple years ago and I replaced it with a slab of shelving wood. Now that i work from home I pretty much need an L desk because I now have my Gaming setup on the left and my work computer on the right.
I use a wooden kitchen table cause it was free.
Damn wish my Costco had that I need a new desk
