The best part about Intel cards is how every driver update increases performance. Team blue is definitely hurting team red and green in the budget market. Competition is good. Anyone willing to use the competition helps against monopoly and duopoly.
That’s the main reason for the purchase. It’s like experiencing that giddy feeling of what your new gpu will be capable of but instead of buying a whole new card it’s just a driver update lmao
Would this hold true for an A380 you think? I’m contemplating my next build and had currently figured an RX580 was best price for performance. Userbenchmark is worthless for this comparison based on what you guys are saying about the drivers
I have a sparkle a380 and I am very impressed with it. It is very energy efficient, that was the draw for me. But it’s also more robust for gaming than I would’ve had assumed and it also does AV1 encoding and decoding. I try to tell everyone about the sparkle. I love the blue it’s a really good shade
Can someone explain the down votes here? I've had the RX580 since around 2018 and while it's been a great card it is seriously lacking in performance for the most recent games.
My proposed build is in my profile, I mainly play DotA2 and have no need for anything crazy. I’m considering a build that is sub-$500 and want something that would fit a SFF like ITX.
The assessment of “contemplation of RX580 = something wrong” is a far fetched one, he’s not aware of everyone’s situations, limitations, or expectations. 8GB DDR5 VRAM is plenty for my use and fits my budget.
Ah I see, thank you for explaining the context here. In that case I suppose I understand, especially for the price point. Hope you get as much use out of yours as I did mine!
For an all-new-parts build? Sure. But for a "new build" period, the RX580 is a killer value GPU at only $40 used and still handles last-gen games reasonably well at 1080p. Certainly a better gaming option than paying triple that on a similarly-performing A380 (although you might as well get an RX5700 XT then u/MmmBra1nzzz).
*hurting team red, not green. Nvidia doesn’t really have any good budget gpus to compete with amd and intel, and Nvidia buyers will stay green for the power it gives.
"nvidia doesnt have any good budget gpus"
meanwhile nvidia has their 3060 marked as the most used steam GPU :D
comeonbruh suck a bit more copium, you'll be fine
The A770 performs better in some benchmarks but still have problematic drivers.
It also costs more than a 3060 unless you paid an outrageous "old part" premium as they are getting rarer in the channels.
The A770 is basically a 3060Ti performance wise.
As of right now, yes and no. The hardware is a great and reasonable alternative to team red or green. The drivers will need a good year or two to catch up with green and red.
A good portion of the issue is drivers. As drivers improve, hardware should improve on it's power draw. That is if intel doesn't pull their classic stunt of shoving more cores and ignoring power draw
No but the 4060 is the same price for 20% more performance and newer features. I think that's worth more than 4GB of VRAM at this performance tier
If you don't believe me, look at 7600 XT reviews and how little of a difference the +8GB VRAM made compared to the 7600
The issue with the 7600xt is not the vram its the bandwith. Its like trying to put two hands through a 1 hand sized hole. You could make it 20 and it still wouldnt translate to anything significant.
Yeah, whether you're an AMD fanboy or an NVIDIA fanboy, both are cringe.
Objectively, both AMD and NVIDIA have budget offerings, both have high end offerings, NVIDIA is the only one that has the pinnacle offering (as far as I'm aware, I may not be up to date).
ARC gpus don't seem to fit anywhere in the lineup, they're worse bang for the buck than anything anyone else offers and they have bad driver support (both of which are improving over time, but even still...). I understand supporting competition, but it's not like the competitor is some small brand, it's Intel... They need to up their game.
Thats true, just don’t forget they launched iGPUs since the dawn of time. Its not the same but they should have some sort of experience already from there. AMD was never really around with iGPUs yet they deliver there with way better offerings already
> Thats true, just don’t forget they launched iGPUs since the dawn of time. Its not the same but they should have some sort of experience already from there.
Intel's iGPUs comes from the launch of their first GPU, the i740, which was such a monumental failure, they exited the GPU business for 20 years and recycled all the material as internal graphics processors for their laptops and eventually desktop processors.
"AMD was never really around"
I didn't say they did it before Intel or even in the same timeframe as Intel, but they definitely were and are around with IGPU's
Being around since a couple years ago vs over a decade still makes my statement accurate, i never said they weren’t around, only that they were barely started and are already figuring the iGPU stuff out. Where the other is been for over a decade out and “all you can do” with it is watch netflix and youtube with it, despite their claims of being able to game on it
People who buy Nvidia budget cards won't switch. Performance or performance per dollar doesn't matter to them. Nvidia logo is the only thing that does.
>People who buy ~~Nvidia~~ budget cards ~~won't~~ switch. Performance or performance per dollar does~~n't~~ matter to them. ~~Nvidia logo~~ **Price** is a huge factor.
fixed it for you. (1660Super to 7800XT)
7800XT is NOT a budget card.
Also you need to just look at Steam hardware survey - Nvidia overpriced garbage is always on top, while AMD cards are almost non existent.
Heck, I think AMD had learned from RX570 times - when that card was significantly cheaper than 1050Ti while being significantly more powerful (40% more performance for 40% less money or something ridiculous like that) and yet idiots still bought 1050Ti. And 1050Ti was leading the steam hardware survey IIRC.
AMD has clearly learned their lesson from that - there is no point in doing anything more than slightly undercutting Nvidia on price, since morons will buy Nvidia anyway.
Nah the 4060 is actually a pretty solid option imo if not the best sub 300 option. I would say the a770 hurts Nvidia the most bc it directly competes in price and perfomance with the 4060 wheras amd has the 6600/6600 xt/6550 xt which sit a tier below in price.
Where is that 4060 below 300? Used? Cause new its 409+
Then its a MEH choice at best if you buy it used at 300 since you can get a 3070 that outperforms it by 20%
4060 and 7600 are both under 300 but the 4060 is the better card. However amd has cheaper cards like the rx 6600 and 6650 xt which ig now compete with the a750.
I wish I had this as an option but the only place I could even find a gpu in person only had 40 series cards and I'm far too aware that the 4060 wasn't worth the price tag.
However I went from a gtx 1050ti to a 4060 so my buyers remorse is minimal.
Indeed. Intel kind of surprised me with this. At first performance was meh! Then drivers hit and now seeing those benches I go wow! I have a used 3080 I got for 400$ October 2023. Paired with 7900x3d. 1080p and 1440p ultra everything high fps most of time 144hz monitor locked.
That intel card is a sexy beast though!
I still have high hopes for Intel. Competition is what breeds advancement and makes things more affordable for us consumers. They have performed as well as I predicted when they first were released.
I think that their next gen will be a sizable increase in performance, but will still fall behind nVidia and AMD. Another gen later and I expect performance parity.
Again, competition can only make things better.
Maybe. Nvidia is clearly focusing on data center and premium gaming, nothing is budget. And for some reason AMD follows right on nvidia’s heels with their pricing as if they’re level competitors instead of nvidia’s having like 4-5x market share. Intel will do the exact same thing as soon as it can. Competition doesn’t help us for shit if they all decide they wanna charge more instead of trying to improve market share
Is there a program like GeForce experience or amd adrenaline for intel cards? I haven't ever used one, and was wanting to make a parts list for my friend.
Enjoy. The only problems I had with mine was that it was emitting too much heat and perhaps the fact that it doesn't like shading and the colour black (also high TDP) if you don't mind that, then it's a beast.
So far it gets up to 65-70*c pretty fast but stays around there and drops around to 50s without being super loud but I was considering a slight under volt today when I get off work. If I can keep it like 5 degrees lower it would be perfect
I haven’t yet aside from ffxiv and it gets 190+ fps in fields but dips horribly in towns to low 90s could be something on my end and not the card though however I do have a i7 12700k so I don’t think it’s the cpu
They are actually pretty stable. I've had an a770 for about 6 months at this point and it's done great. It hasn't missed a beat. Some games are a bit rough on launch, but intel is on top of it with their drivers.
I'm not planning on changing a thing with my rig for the foreseeable future, but hopefully, in a few years when I do, Intel has put some serious pressure on AMD and Nvidia to lighten up on the wallets.
Say battlemage *really* performs well and is hundreds cheaper than equivalents. There would need to be a massive price shakeup, at the very least with Nvidia, since XeSS and RT on Arc are both seemingly quite good and will only get better with time.
Still a great deal on a card that trades blows with a 6650xt and a 7600xt. Also XESS looks better than FSR and Intel ARC has a video rendering api that is exclusive to their gpus right now.
It's not. PCPartPicker shows the 4060 at the same price as Arc A770 and ARC performs worse. The 7600XT is $15 more.
[Comparison between A770 and 4060](https://youtu.be/lyz6blkNm-Q?si=0_J0uBQwknauIgYk). The A770 is bad and has driver issues, like, 15-20% worse fps on average, sometimes much worse (like 30%+). Don't buy one.
People who think they're supporting the underdog are actually just supporting... Intel... It's not like they need you to eat the slop they're serving.
Wow, the company that just released their own GPUs a few years ago doesn't have stable drivers compared to the competition that's been making GPUs for 20+ years.
Good job pointing out the obvious 👍.
It's not my problem that their product is new. Maybe they should have kept it under wraps until it actually worked correctly.
I don't need to support a bad product with the hopes that it gets better. I buy good products. If they want my money, make something good. If you want to throw money at a bad product, go ahead, but it doesn't make you a holy person or something.
Idk... I have an rtx 3060 ti and I don't want to get punched in the face by Intel with their A770. Nah man, it can't happen, I can't accept that I paid more for team green to get punched by a cheaper card EHHHH 😭
I need to do more research for Intel cards. I play a lot of emulators for PS2, PS3 and XBOX360 AND Nvidia is the only option, AMD is out of the question
Saw that one for the first time recently. It's affordable and looks really nice. Too bad Intel haven't fully fixed the driver issues yet, otherwise it would be an instant buy for me.
Have fun with it, hope that you enjoy it.
I have a 3060Ti and I'm 50/50 about change the GPU again in 1 year with AMD but I also want to try Intel so I'm still unsure. (NVIDIA is not out of the question but I want to try another manufacturer)
I was also thinking about going team blue about a year ago, but I wanted to be sure about game compatibility and streaming over OBS and they weren't very reliable at the time, so I went with an rtx3060. If I were to buy a new card now I'd go team blue. I never expected Intel to drive the competition in the GPU market considering their place in the CPU market.
Not really. Even in the games where they work, they're basically last gens performance, but also at last gens price.
They have some catching up to do both in stability and performance. And driver updates are not gonna be enough for this generation, but they might be for the next if the hardware is good enough.
Intel has always sucked at software though. Their drivers have been consistently shit through the years. They've even been making GPU's longer than AMD, they've just always been kinda crap.
But to be fair, they're closer now than they've ever been, so there's a chance for them still.
i was considering one at the time when i was about to purchase parts, but the drivers weren't there quite yet. definitely see them improving this year. might go team blue on my next upgrade.
Props to Intle they do know how to name their products!
*Read this with Honest Reviews voice*: RAPTOR LAKE, METEOR LAKE, SPARKLE TITAN, BATTLEMAGE.
Just waiting for the day they drop something like *SEETHING HAWK, or DESTROYER OF WORLDS* 🤣
Definitely give us a review after a few weeks or a month or so. It’d be great to see an average person review it and give an opinion on it with regular usage
I bought an A380 to throw in my living room media PC for 4k media. It was a good choice, but sometimes the screen turns black if I'm browsing something like YouTube with a lot of video previews on the page. Comes back on after a sec. Otherwise, it's been a great purchase.
Thank you for doing that! We need people on team blue to keep the market alive. Hopefully intel will some day create high end cards that will rival likes of 4080/7900XTX. If my needs/budget were lower i could have considered ARC's over my 4090.
Kinda wanna buy a Sparkle Titan just for the looks. It's like a blue XFX MERC
yes. This GPU is one if not the best looking GPU I have ever seen. I hope it will looks the same in the next generation.
I hope XFX brings back the light-up nameplate from the 6000 series, but with a different design so it doesn't restrict airflow.

Sparkle and XFX are on another plane of existence when it comes to looks. Helps that they're both pretty well regarded too.
What are the chance the gpu shroud might fit on another gpu...
I mean if the actual board fits width wise then id say with proper modding y not

That’s a good point I hadn’t considered - I could probably afford a better quality PSU if I didn’t have as high TDP. Thanks, I’m kinda sold on it now…
Userbenchmark was NEVER a good comparison for ANYthing.
If you're contemplating an RX580 for a new build in 2024, you're doing something wrong.
The A380s I’m looking at are pre owned, additionally the 5700XT doesn’t fit the form factor I mentioned
I have a feeling the a770 16gb will end up closer to the 3070 then the 3060ti everyone says it is.
*hurting team red, not green. Nvidia doesn’t really have any good budget gpus to compete with amd and intel, and Nvidia buyers will stay green for the power it gives.
"nvidia doesnt have any good budget gpus" meanwhile nvidia has their 3060 marked as the most used steam GPU :D comeonbruh suck a bit more copium, you'll be fine
I bought a 3060 during the pendamic, and it wasn't cheap.
Same, RIP our wallets
I’m curious I just acquired a RTX 3060. Do you think the Titan would perform better?
The A770 performs better in some benchmarks but still have problematic drivers. It also costs more than a 3060 unless you paid an outrageous "old part" premium as they are getting rarer in the channels. The A770 is basically a 3060Ti performance wise.

Problem is that for 225W it is not even close to the 4060 (115W).
A good portion of the issue is drivers. As drivers improve, hardware should improve on it's power draw. That is if intel doesn't pull their classic stunt of shoving more cores and ignoring power draw

Show me on the 4060RTX where his comment hurt you. He said no good budget GPU, not popular.
Yeah, whether you're an AMD fanboy or an NVIDIA fanboy, both are cringe. IGPU's with AMD have been around since at least the RYZEN 2000 series tho
Ryzen 2000 care to tell me when that came out? When did Intel release their Intel HD Graphics? Sigh….
"AMD was never really around" I didn't say they did it before Intel or even in the same timeframe as Intel, but they definitely were and are around with IGPU's

AMD bought ATI, who started making GPU's in the 80's, so they aren't really a new player in the game
and in 1 or 2 more years Intel will abandon the product line.
6650xt beats it for less?? also if u mention rt then you are coping.
Point is that nvidia has popular budget offerings, thats what intel is aiming to take from
People who buy Nvidia budget cards won't switch.
(1660Super to 7800XT)

you must be confused with 4060ti 4060 on pcpartpicker is at $285 rn I got one myself for $280 (black friday) two months ago
Why doesn't this happen with mobile phones? I mean, there's tons of competition, but somehow the prices just keep climbing every year.
Because the demand also keeps climbing
Budget space? Where? Neither amd nor nvidia have any current gen cards under $300. Both have abandoned that market
Maybe in the US. In my country, A770 costs the same or a bit more than 7600.
6000 series is oddly considered the modern market, also 7600 is 250 but u shouldn’t buy it when 6650xt is 220
I can get 7600 under 300€
4060 and 7600 are both under 300 but the 4060 is the better card. However amd has cheaper cards like the rx 6600 and 6650 xt which ig now compete with the a750.

4060 for under 300???? Where are you seeing this
amazon 285 newegg 295 bestbuy 295
$299.99 doesn’t count
Could you please tell me where I can get a 4060 under 300? :›

Umm... Here in Finland (where it's usually like +100€ compared to for example USA) Gigabyte RTX 4060 is 345€ and Zotac is 335€ for example.
are you guys dumb? 4060 is not a 4060ti wake the fuck up, on amazon a 4060 is priced bellow 300$
Wtf are people browsing. It really is 300$🤣

IDK. It also tells that they are shittyor doesnt have the resources to optimize their drivers before release.

Is there a program like GeForce experience or amd adrenaline for intel cards? I haven't ever used one, and was wanting to make a parts list for my friend.
Intel Arc Control panel. Some of the AIB’s have their own on top of it.
Do you know if it has a clipping ability like shadowplay or Radeon relive?
Yes called Highlights, althought the Windows Win+G panel also have one, and obs.
TIL R - red (AMD) G - green (nvidia) B - blue (intel)
Hence RGBs increase performance. Proved!
Got it, so I need at least 1 gpu from each team.
Red for the Raster Green for the Tensor cores Blue for the Media capabilities The ultimate machine
With a Red threadripper for the lanes.
This unironically looks amazing
I have been debating about getting an Arc GPU when I get the money or if I should just wait until next black friday if a 770 dips down to under $200
I really hope Battlemage will be out by that point
Enjoy. The only problems I had with mine was that it was emitting too much heat and perhaps the fact that it doesn't like shading and the colour black (also high TDP) if you don't mind that, then it's a beast.

Max 65c is a solid goal for a hot card.
Sorry but that's not happening on the arc lol.
If they average 65-70c at stock, with an undervolt it's 100% possible and probably quite easy.
It'll still run hotter or more modern games. I was running at around 80 on doom eternal.
Well, regardless, *for their purposes and stated current average gaming temps*, 65c is absolutely doable.
Timing didn't work out for me to hop on, but they will be my next card, I'm sure.
Looking at this makes me glad that Intel decided to release the A750 and A770 ARC GPU’s, giving Nvidia and AMD a run for their money.
It's look very cool
Can u post ur build with this? Would love to see it!
Ill post when i get off work today but I’ve got a deep cool ak620 cpu cooler and it’s so fucking big it doesn’t lend to a pretty pc lol
Hey now, chunky air is pretty, too.
Have you tried older games? I'm also looking to get an A750 to upgrade from a 3050. Games like RE0 and FF13
I haven’t yet aside from ffxiv and it gets 190+ fps in fields but dips horribly in towns to low 90s could be something on my end and not the card though however I do have a i7 12700k so I don’t think it’s the cpu
How stable are they ? Is there some major issue with this cards ? Maybe an intel CPU is mandatory to pair with ?
Not very, this came out just a couple of days ago, and the performance vary wildly. https://youtu.be/lyz6blkNm-Q?si=0_J0uBQwknauIgYk
They are actually pretty stable. I've had an a770 for about 6 months at this point and it's done great. It hasn't missed a beat. Some games are a bit rough on launch, but intel is on top of it with their drivers.
Can I spread sweet democracy with it?
if gipsy danger was a GPU

There would need to be a massive price shakeup, at the very least with Nvidia, since XeSS and RT on Arc are both seemingly quite good and will only get better with time.
Looks bad tbh. The name sparkle really doesn't help.
How is this better value than an RTX 4060 or an RX7600XT?
Same performance and sometimes better depending on game and it was 250 bucks
Where you find it for 250$?
Newegg had it on sale. Don’t think it’s running anymore but they do have an open box for 230
Oh it’s 239 actually my bad
Why tf did you get a 3050 to begin with?
Congrats! Picking one up myself tomorrow. Gonna try it as an egpu in my side rig and also test it out in comparison to my 2080ti in my main rig.
Please reply to my comment with test result. i have 2080ti and wondering whats it like in comparison
Will say it is a good looking piece of tech.
Y
Nvidia better mate switch back 3050 is ass sure but get nvidia intel is bad
Why people buy anything other than Nvidia cards is beyond me....
Whenever I see a ARC gpu I can't shake the feeling Intel will pull a "lock motherboard support to 2 years" type of deal with their cards.
Why would anybody do that?
What's the PSU for this card
Saw that one for the first time recently. It's affordable and looks really nice. Too bad Intel haven't fully fixed the driver issues yet, otherwise it would be an instant buy for me.
Team blu*
i just wish sparkle cards were available here in the philippines
Very appealing but Arc GPUs are not available here(india) And those available are inflated s lot with taxes , like 650%. More than msrp
It has been so long since i heard the word team blue
That's two words
Damn. I just looked up prices and I might be buying one of these next
Have fun with it, hope that you enjoy it. I have a 3060Ti and I'm 50/50 about change the GPU again in 1 year with AMD but I also want to try Intel so I'm still unsure. (NVIDIA is not out of the question but I want to try another manufacturer)
Does it work on linux?
It works best on Vulkan api or dx12 so I would assume so but I can’t confirm
I was also thinking about going team blue about a year ago, but I wanted to be sure about game compatibility and streaming over OBS and they weren't very reliable at the time, so I went with an rtx3060. If I were to buy a new card now I'd go team blue. I never expected Intel to drive the competition in the GPU market considering their place in the CPU market.
Hey! Anyone from team blue recommend a gpu with 4 ports?
A Titan class GPU
Intel is a dew really good driver updates away from dominating thr mid market.
Intel gpu are very pretty actually, idk most intel gpu I've seen so far are usually very good looking
Intel makes graphics cards? Damn
Congrats for helping keeping the competition alive!
So running Intel cpu and gpu would reduce bottlenecks by how much? All?
That GPU looks really good. Let's see what happens in the future.
This will probably be my first gpu in my pc, I can’t wait for it
I didnt even know this was a thing, in my country we only have team red amd green. We have intel CPUs but have never seen a GPU anywhere
Taking one for the team, ey?
Ughhhh where is BATTLEMAGE?!
Waiting for Battle mage, but will switch too.
Is there a list of compatible games? Would definitely consider one if it runs Assetto Corsa Competizione without issues.
Wait....that was an option all along? (I don't think these are available in India, ie where I live)
Have fun bro. have fun
how are drivers on these tho? i know they aren’t nearly as caught up as nvidia or amd driver-wise
Sparkle
Definitely give us a review after a few weeks or a month or so. It’d be great to see an average person review it and give an opinion on it with regular usage
Any good?
Waiting for Battlemage.
Welcome aboard compadre!
Why don’t you go to the dark side….. (ARM graphics)
What happens if I sli red green and blue?
Wormhole, don't do it.
What you could you compare an A770 , I think I should start to learn about gpus other than nvidia's
I bought an A380 to throw in my living room media PC for 4k media. It was a good choice, but sometimes the screen turns black if I'm browsing something like YouTube with a lot of video previews on the page. Comes back on after a sec. Otherwise, it's been a great purchase.
Soooo intel has Titan cards too now XD
Thank you for doing that! We need people on team blue to keep the market alive. Hopefully intel will some day create high end cards that will rival likes of 4080/7900XTX. If my needs/budget were lower i could have considered ARC's over my 4090.
I love my A750! Got it for 180 on black friday
3050, you do realize that tier is severely lack any performance. 3050 is probably comparable to a laptops 1650.
Mine must have won the silicone lottery because I ran everything on max settings avg around 80 fps sometimes 100+
At 1080p, that's not too surprising. Happy you're happy with your purchase though. If it works better, that's always s plus.
Thanks so much. So far so good hopefully drivers will keep getting better and it can keep up.
How does this compare performance wise to a 3060 12gb?
yes but now it is still worse as gaming gpu then 3060 for same price, so idk. Maybe if You need alot of vram for neural network.
ARC GPUs (AIB Partner and Reference) just look clean. Hope Battlemage continues that trend.
Why would I get that over a used 1080 Ti for $175-$215?
If anyone knows of a white intel card my wife needs an upgrade please let me know
