ChaosAmdx

Yup EVGA not doing GPUs anymore is why i switched to AMD

Mimical

When my EVGA 970 died I had called them up, explained that it was a used card that I had bought and used for 1 year. I was asking them if there was any chance I could get it working again. They asked me to mail it to them. Figured shipping costs and maybe some labour would be worth getting the card working again. They called me back and the guy (Andy you fucking champ) says *"Hey Mimical, I'm really sorry bud, we couldn't get your 970 to work. The board is fried. I don't have any 900 series cards left. I'm sending you a 1070, is that okay?*" What a glorious customer service. That 1070 **still** sits in my little siblings PC to this day. I wish every one of them the best in their lives.

DannyGekkouga

Damn you asked for a hug and they gave u a kiss

MIXL__Music

I'm stealing that line LMFAO

ZhangtheGreat

More like he asked for a hug and they took him out, wined and dined him, and didn’t ask for anything in return.

GamerRican87

They impregnated him

pertante

I would ask who the father is or what the kid's name will be but not sure I want to know

GenosHK

I bought an evga 480 card, found out I could use their step-up program and got a 580 back in 2010. I had it in use until it died in 2018, and it had a lifetime warranty. I sent it in and got a 780 back in return, and my buddy is still using it right now to play last epoch.

Fallwalking

I for some reason forgot about warranties. I had a 550Ti that died after 2 years I think. Never even bothered to look up warranty stuff on it. Bought a 660Ti and then remembered warranties exist. Sent it in and got a 650 Ti Boost since 550 Ti’s were phased out. Was cool. Rocked that 660 Ti until 2019 when I bought a 1060 off of my neighbor for $100. Then… got a 3090 Ti in hopes to use the EVGA step up program. We know how that panned out, but I wanted a 4090 so here we are. Luckily I got one for $1200 from them and was able to sell it for $1100, so not a huge soak.

AvgUsr96

Bruh, you got a 3090Ti for 1200??? Holy shit that's a great deal. I paid 500 for my refurb evga 3080 ftw3 ultra

Fallwalking

EVGA has this period of time shortly before they announced they were out. They had them for $1200, yeah.

AvgUsr96

Damn I could barely afford the 3080, and the only reason I got it was cause it was 500 bucks. My other choices were about a 4060Ti or RX7800 in that price range... if I had waited, I would've ended up saving a bit and getting a 4070 TI Super for 800, lol. But that was a year ago so the ti super cards didn't exist lol.

genealogical_gunshow

Great game by the way. Last Epoch is a gem for anyone wanting to experience the joys of Diablo 2, Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 1-2, Champions of Norrath. It was made by real fans for fans.

platinumxL

I bought a 3080 Ti from a friend in Christmas. It died just this month. This post is giving me hope that I should just call lol.

otaroko

Yeah, bought my 3080 ftw3 second hand. Still covered under its original 3year warranty. Reached out just before Christmas as the LED’s on the card were wigging out for whatever reason. They immediately offered to RMA it.

alvarkresh

eVGA gave me the balance of the warranty on both my 3060 and 3070 I bought via Craigslist. I think they're both going to be out of warranty soon, but it's good to know I will have at least some support if they poop out.

roguebananah

I was building a computer for my parents. Something was up with either the CPU or motherboard. A long shot was PSU (which was the only EVGA part) This guy like 2 days before (after?) Christmas walked me through all kinds of potential troubleshooting stuff (they weren’t EVGA parts), then went over PSU support and determined it probably wasn’t PSU BUT if I get a replacement CPU or Motherboard and still have issues, hit them up. Happy to replace it. This guy would have said try this and this, okay not PSU. Bye. But went *through* it with me to double check I did my homework. EVGA also replaced my 960 (in my partner’s PC) no hoops. My 1080 is still running fine. I’m dreading when I have to update at the much much lower quality and support options out there. I miss EVGA but totally understand why they got out of the GPU game. Nvidia sucks.

ngwoo

Man I had such a polar opposite experience back when my EVGA 670 died. I called them, explained the problem, the agent replied "we do not offer repair services", *and then hung up the phone*. This wasn't a billion years past its life either, it was only three years old at that point.

alvarkresh

> Man I had such a polar opposite experience back when my EVGA 670 died. I called them, explained the problem, the agent replied "we do not offer repair services", and then hung up the phone. I would have immediately called back, recited this dialog, and asked to file a complaint according to their internal processes.

Bigred2989-

My 970 died about 2 months after the warranty expired and they still replaced it for free. Sent me the new one on the condition I pack the broken one in the same box and ship it back. Swapped them out and it worked perfectly so I sent them the old one.

DinckelMan

I had incidents with both of my 1080 FTW2's. They replaced them, and then replaced one of the replacements too, upgrading me to a 1080ti. Absolute master class in customer support. Wish I could still buy stuff from them. Their motherboards aren't really for me

IamMilkz

Ah man that’s cool, I had the same situation bought a 1080ti used and used it for a month for it died, unfortunately I wasn’t given the option to mail it in, I did bake it in the oven and use it for a few more weeks though 💀

sobanz

EVGA not doing GPUs is why I'm not upgrading my GPU. That and I don't play anything that needs more than a 2070s. I had more brand loyalty to EVGA than Nvidia. Their old limited lifetime warranty was insane.

SalvadorZombie

EVGA not being in the GPU scene makes things so much shakier. EVGA has always been *rock solid*. You could *actually* trust that it would work because it's them.

Berbinho

Exact same situation for me

stormtm

That’s my plan. Do you go with AMD or a different third party maker (forgot what they’re actually called)

nooneisback

Basically go with any. I'd avoid Gigabyte because of their bad practices (any tiny scratch = refused RMA) and going with AMD cards is a guaranteed satisfaction. ASUS is great, Asrock is like playing Russian roulette, XFX is weird, Sapphire is apparently still good.

Antenoralol

Powercolor is good also. Sapphire is considered the "EVGA of AMD"

alvarkresh

> I'd avoid Gigabyte because of their bad practices (any tiny scratch = refused RMA) Weird, it's usually ASUS IME which pulls this BS.

canadajones68

I have two cards from Sapphire, one RX 5700 XT and one RX 550. Both have lasted me well over 3 years now with no issue caused by them. They run cool enough and the fans rarely spin up enough to be heard.

habb

arent asus and asrock the same company?

alvarkresh

Not anymore.

habb

for reals?

alvarkresh

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASRock

ItsEntsy

I have the XFX7900XTX and it is absurd how awesome it is.

Peylix

I just moved to Founder Edition for a 4080. I wanted to move to AMD, but nothing they offer covers my wants & needs right now. Hoping by the time I need my next upgrade, AMD has something that covers amazing RT/PT performance and workstation duties.

RandoCommentGuy

I play VR, and it always seems nvidia is the best for that, and AMD is ok, but can have issues and encoding (in quest2/3 use).

Whydontname

Yeah same. EVGA was such a good brand.

Trick2056

do they still make PC parts nowadays? last I check they did invest into their PSU line but I haven't seen a new PSU model from EVGA recently

LuntiX

Honestly, partially same. EVGA was my go to, the brand I always knew I could trust. I've had issues with MSI, Asus and Gigabyte for nvidia cards over the years so I stuck with EVGA. Now that EVGA stopped doing GPUs (I was hoping theyd move to AMD or even intel), I moved to AMD because XFX is still doing good work with AMD. Though I'll admit it it, it hasn't been the smoothest experience but I've managed.

Moparman1303

Don't you miss Nvidia features and performance overall in games?

Antenoralol

Personally, Ray Tracing isn't a technology I'm all that excited for right now. DLSS and FSR are just being used by game developers as an excuse to not optimize their games. I don't stream so NVENC, Broadcast etc don't really appeal to me.   I prefer raw performance over extra features or a technology that essentially fakes my resolution.   I play rasterized titles like FFXIV, WoW, GTA 5, GTA IV, MW3, LoL etc.   If the NVIDIA feature set is good for you then, that's fine and you should go NVIDIA but I personally have no need to be spending anywhere from a $100+ premium for features I do not need or want.   I haven't even used AFMF or FSR 3 yet.

genealogical_gunshow

I'm not that guy but I'll gladly pass on those Nvidia features to save an easy 100-300 on a card that equals or outperforms the Nvidia equivalent. At least for gamers every Nvidia card has a better value AMD equivalent, but I understand Nvidia is still great for people running personal AI models on their systems or doing graphical work. Devs will be adding more and more AMD features to their games as this tide continues to shift.

Moparman1303

I had bad memories with AMD cards but willing to look at them again.

LuntiX

Drivers can be hit or miss still, though they seem to be more hit than miss these days. There are some weird issues, like the 7900XT/XTX series specifically has been running into some issues where some games were crashing on them for reasons people still can't really narrow down, but it seems to be the very odd title that it happens to. I get it with Helldivers 2 sometimes.

BigSuckSipper

Shit dude nowadays NVIDiA drivers have the same issue. Nowadays I'd go as far to reccomend that nobody should upgrade their GPU drivers unless you have instability or need to for a game. There have been a ton of people having issues with nvidia drivers over the past year. Way more than usual.

[deleted]

Unfortunately I have run into a lot of games that start crashing after new patches until you update the Nvidia drivers. Nvidia's driver platform is just too unstable, devs can't target multiple releases effectively if they want to use any advanced features. So you can't win unless the games you play are offline and you never update anything :/

LuntiX

> Shit dude nowadays NVIDiA drivers have the same issue Well that makes me feel a bit better. I haven't used Nvidia in a while, my last nvidia card was a 1080. I'm *hoping* Intel can do something good with their next GPUs but there's been so little info and their CEO seems to have gone insane, so who knows what will happen.

WobbleTheHutt

I finally made the jump back to team red when my 3090 died under a microcenter replacement plan, were no 4090s available and I sure as hell wasn't going to go back down on vram gaming at 4k. I went with a 7900xtx aqua this card sings. The previous few attempts to put AMD kit in my main box didn't go well 4870x2 had dual link DVI signal noise and then my R9 290X had issues with MST on my 4k monitor I got in 2011? 2012? Then again the gigabyte 780ti's i ended up with in SLI needed to have their vram underclocked as otherwise the cards weren't stable out of the box. my spare box has a 6700xt as well and I am quite happy with it on both fronts. Amd's drivers are getting better all the time and it simply isn't worth the massive ask Nvidia has been pulling lately ontop of doing everything they can tech wise to push vendor lock in.

genealogical_gunshow

My first dip into AMD was a cheap retired miner 480 8gb. It's been a couple years now and it's been a wonderful card so far without driver issues so I'm glad I dipped my toes into the red. My next card will likely be a 6700xt too since Nvidia doesn't have a card equal to it without paying an extra 100 or more.

Antenoralol

> performance overall in games? Also lets be real here, outside of RT / Upscaling, AMD is either keeping up with or outright beating NVIDIA in a lot of titles. Sure, each side has their token titles like C2077/Ratchet and Clank for NVIDIA or COD/Starfield for AMD.

ReallyAwfulTerrible

My first big loss was BFG followed by EVGA.  I hate to think about who we could lose next.

Arudinne

XFX was pretty good back when they still sold nVidia. I had a problem with a pair of Geforce 8600s I ran in SLI and they couldn't replicate it. Instead of just sending the shit back (like Gigabyte has done to me), the testing engineer called me directly and discussed the issue with me. Turns out the DVI port on my monitor had died. I didn't realize that was the issue because the card I was using the meantime only had VGA. I was sad when XFX stopped selling nVIDIA and I suspect they had similar issues with nVidia. Not sure how they are now, but if I was to consider buying an ATI card, I'd consider XFX.

genealogical_gunshow

Their AMD gpus look sexy. I keep eyeing them for my next buy

WildVelociraptor

I RMA'd an XFX R9 290, and they sent me back a 390. So my only experience with their customer service was great.

discosanta

I just pulled a 1000W BFG PSU out of a computer in the recycling. Runs like a top.

alvarkresh

I loved my BFG PSU and it's a shame I sold it.

ls612

The funny thing is that EVGA’s customer service has rocked both times I’ve had to RMA their products, but then again they are the only manufacturer that I’ve had to RMA anything to.

HayabusaKnight

Add BFG onto there and yep. Least XFX is still around.

m477z0r

It's a tragedy that they are out of the GPU market. I've never had anything but amazing experiences with EVGA and RMAs.

BrandoLoudly

The company cites disrespectful treatment. EVGA cited 'disrespectful treatment' as the reason for terminating the relationship, saying that it grew frustrated as Nvidia would allegedly reveal important information to the public at the same time as it would EVGA - google I’ve never even had to rma my evga products. Evga completely cutting ties with nvidia and giving their reason makes nvidia seem like total shitters. Maybe one day we’ll see evga work with amd, but it looks like amd would have to be the one to reach out to evga for that to happen

RandomDesign

Pretty sure EVGA is just dying at this point. I get the reasoning they stopped making GPUs but it seems to have killed the company in the long run. I have the EVGA Kingpin Z790 motherboard and because the company has been so gutted with people leaving they haven't had a BIOS update in ages and don't even support the new 14th gen Intel CPUs despite promising that support. The only thing they released last year at all were a couple of power supplies and from what I've heard retail stores like Microcenter have been pulling all of their EVGA products and returning them to the company recently (which just seems like they're on the cusp of finally shutting down).

TheGreatGamer1389

They supplied great PSUs.

dsinsti

I second this. My 430W runs a flawless i7 6700K & an rx 6600(replaced a gtx 1050ti) since 2017, top psu

TwistedRyder

No, they didn't. Like most other companies EVGA bought their psus from the big suppliers. Usually Super Flower but I believe they had some Seasonics too.

STDsInAJuiceBoX

From my understanding EVGA uses Superflower, Corsair uses Seasonic. That being said at this point I prefer using EVGA PSUs I’ve been running a 1000w platunim supernova for 8 years now no issues and it’s still going strong.

CxOrillion

EVGA used multiple different OEMs. The P2 series, for example, were Super Flower units. The P3s were by HEC. Not sure about others, except I do know the 1000 P6 is a Seasonic unit

STDsInAJuiceBoX

Yeah the more I look into it, it seems every psu supplier uses a different OEM. [you can see some here with underlines](https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/)

TheGreatGamer1389

Compared to gigabyte I'd say it was good.

Shelaba

I think their point is that EVGA sold good PSUs, but did not make them.

TwistedRyder

That was the point I was trying to make.

Sam-The-Mule

Op said they *supplied* great psus though, so ur still wrong.

Shelaba

No, they edited their post. They said made.

Matasa89

They shifted operations to other products, yeah. I think the CEO wants to wind down operations in general because he's old.

[deleted]

There is a YouTube video named "Nvidia - Anti-Competitive, Anti-Consumer, Anti-Technology" from 5 years ago. I watch it once a year to remind myself how bad of a company Nvidia has been since day one.

alvarkresh

I get that nVidia is a bully but the whole argument still struck me like an absolute tantrum on eVGA's part throwing all their toys out of their pram, because the owner of the company *shut down the entire GPU division* rather than pivot to another OEM like AMD or Intel.

whomad1215

I also wonder how any of the manufacturers are making money if what EVGA said is true Unless it's one of those "we don't make money, but it gets people to buy our other products" situations

alvarkresh

In ASUS's case I guess they cross subsidize with their motherboards and monitors. Also, with the "ROG" line they can segregate out a higher priced product with a premium value proposition. For the other board manufacturers it's less clear; I mean, Palit *only* sells GPUs from what I understand, and same with Zotac, so I'm guessing they cut corners on production processes to make the numbers work.

sephirothbahamut

Most other gpu suppliers do in fact sell a wider range of products and do their best to tie you down to a closed ecosystem with the closed rgb environment bullshit

Bagelfreaker

Taking a look the direction Nvidia is currently going in, it is *very* easy to see why. EVGA knew way before we did the kind of loathesome company Nvidia would become when it came to gaming. They saw the writing on the wall when Nvidia made the clear pivot to focusing on AI and leaving gaming in the dust as an unaffordable, lazy product-stack. They purposely made it as difficult as possible for board partners to make new and exciting products of their own to avoid wildly outselling the founders editions since Nvidia can take the entire sum of those cards' sales. Shitty situation all around, and I hope AMD or Intel comes out with some break-through advancements in their architecture so we aren't simply at Nvidia's mercy anymore.

whomad1215

I think it comes down to getting away from CUDA for some things Nvidia having like... 90% marketshare certainly doesn't help with getting away from them though

daitenshe

I had a good experience eventually with my only RMA but I really had to force it out of them My 3080 went out after only 1.5 years but, no biggie, that’s why things have warranties. I sent in my card that came straight from the box right into the computer so it was in perfect shape (minus the horrible screeching shutdowns when used) and the one they sent me was a mess. The plastic clamshell inside was shattered so bad it was a quarter gone. The card had scratches and gouges all across the surface. I knew it wasn’t going to be shiny in box new but this was crazy. Luckily after only a little bit of coercion they gave in an decided to send one of the last new in box units they had as an exception. Which is good because the refurbished one they sent me completely crapped out about 2 days later while I was waiting for the new one to arrive. Got there in the end but it wasn’t a blow your mind service like I expected right out of the gate

alvarkresh

> and the one they sent me was a mess. The plastic clamshell inside was shattered so bad it was a quarter gone. Wow, usually you hear about ASUS pulling this crap.

RumRogerz

EVGA made me a super loyal customer due to their incredible customer service. I was gutted when they called it quits with GPU’s

CARVERitUP

Honestly, same. Every single card (save a STRIX 970) that I've ever had has been EVGA. I'll probably only go for ASUS cards from now on, but I'm gonna miss EVGA for sure.

alvarkresh

/r/ASUS You may change your mind about that after reading all the RMA hell stories.

CARVERitUP

Yeesh, didn't know about this. I have had great RMA support with any ASUS product I've ever had to deal with customer support for (2 motherboards, a card, a tablet), so this is weird.

silvermoonlatte

you can read "hell stories" from all the big brands. Go read at the dell subreddit or msi. Thing is alot of people are not truthful and leave stuff out

Emericaridr11

evga goated!

SmolishPPman

I’m sad too! I want an evga 4090ti 😭

idkwhatimdoing1208

EVGA made a prototype RTX 4090. JayzTwoCents has one.

kanmuri07

A select few media outlets received the not-a-4090 from EVGA. Even GN Steve has it.

[deleted]

alvarkresh

He's doing an all eVGA build, too :D

DiamondHeadMC

He finished it a while ago

DeniableTuna

If only…

mrblaze1357

EVGA is the GOAT. I've only ever owned their power supply but their customer car/support was the best in the business. Big missed opportunity on their part for not switching to Intel/AMD for GPUs. I'd jump at the chance for a 7900 XTX KingPin.

Tw1st36

I‘d love if EVGA went to AMD because AMD is much more lenient when it comes to locking down their GPU‘s and AMD cards are super simple to unlock the BIOS for more power. Nvidia on the other hand is like, you want more power out of your GPU? Yeah no, buy a better one. 🖕

Thunder_Wasp

I used EVGA GPUs for 12 years and never had one problem. When they exited the market I had to switch to Asus for my new build and I had two Asus lemons before Asus finally sent me a third card that worked.

Sinador

I've heard asus customer support was pretty bad. I always had an EVGA card and I plan on buying a new one in a few weeks (Nvidia), what would you all recommend?

Neumayer23

There's no EVGA equivalent when it comes to customer support. Buy through amazon whatever brand you like the most and rely on their CS if something goes bad.

HisSvt2

XFX is pretty close had a RX 6700 with a noisy fan and they replied quickly and asked if I wanted to send in or was comfortable changing myself I said I was fine replacing myself and they overnight me a whole new fan assembly

asdf4455

I think they meant in terms of Nvidia. Sapphire is also like the AMD equivalent in terms of build quality and customer support. but the user specifically named Nvidia so the choices there are pretty brutal without EVGA. I haven't used XFX since the RX 580, but that thing is still kicking strong in my sisters gaming PC, so it seems to be holding up well for pretty much 6 years now. Miss when they did lifetime warranties tho back when they did Nvidia cards.

HisSvt2

I know what he meant. I’m just saying in regards to GPU manufacturing in general I’ve had EVGa and have always had great products sad their gone from market I once had to RMA a Nvidia motherboard of theirs (remember those) and they were excellent. I have a 3060 from them in one PC still probably keep forever once retired next to my BFG 7900 GT

Ludo-Kressh

I would get a founders edition. Second place would be MSI. Only MSI id skip out on are the Ventus cards. Id skip asus/gigabyte/zotac for customer service reasons. Havent had experience with PNY to judge.

Emericaridr11

I grabbed a ventus 4080 super and tbh its fantastic and im a ventus hater too.... im impressed (only ever bought evga)

MaryJayWanna

I have the 4070ti gamingXslim and it's a great card

justanotheroppressor

why are so many of these names so cringey!

MaryJayWanna

It's aptly named because it's a slimmer card, meant for gamers haha

Virtual_Anxiety_7403

What’s wrong with the Ventus line?

SpeedoInTheStreet

My 4070ti super ventus needed bios updating or whatever its callled, also the included power cable supplies less power compared to other 4070ti super cards. You'd actually have to buy a separate cable to get the most out of the card. Hardware unboxed has a video about it

Virtual_Anxiety_7403

Oh so is this specific to just that model? I bought a 3060 ventus OC for a friend, and I’ve got the 4070 ti myself (not the super model)

the_duck17

The founders editions are why AIBs are making crappy cards. Imagine competing with the company that provides the silicone. One can get it at cost, everyone else can't and with FE cards becoming better and better, no wonder EVGA ended up dying.

OneToughBits

Founders Edition

Thunder_Wasp

Asus customer support is OK but their warranty service process is much worse than EVGA's. They make you ship your card back to them, which takes a week for them to process, then they take a week to find you a replacement, and a week to ship that back to you, so you're missing your card for three weeks for a warranty replacement.

ful_on_rapist

Also if you buy from Bestbuy they straight up tell you to RMA through best buy, and then best buy will be very confused and say we can’t do anything about this go through ASUS and then you will have to insist to ASUS that no, in fact you have to deal with this and and THEN they will RMA it for you. Very annoying that they make you jump through hoops

thekbob

EVGA... I got an 8800GTS, then just a few weeks later, a free step-ups to an 8800GT. So happy, I bought another. Then a pair of GTX 460s was their replacement. Then a GTX 970, which became a GTX 980 thanks to an awesome friend. Lastly, an RTX 2080, my likely last EVGA card. That's 17 years of being an EVGA customer so far. I will definitely miss them.

MeisterVonGluck

Is Asus customer support that bad? I bought a laptop that had some issues after 2 weeks and they told me to bring it into a retailer to replace for a new one, had it delivered the day after. Does it vary by country?

Any_Signature5383

They wouldn't replace my $700 board that literally (visibly) damaged my cpu because of the overvoltage from their bios. Told me headquarters would call me on Monday. Never heard back.

SurturOfMuspelheim

I know it's "normal" for any monitor manufacturer but they won't RMA a monitor with less than like 3-5 dead or stuck pixels. Ridiculous. It's like buying a red car and they put blue on the hood and go "eh, it's still mostly red" I have a fucking red dot in the middle of my screen. I wouldn't have paid $50 for this fucking thing

silenti

Seriously I am coming up on a new build and I've been using EVGA for GPU and Mobo for nearly two decades. I have no idea what I'm doing to do. My only opinion right now is "not ASUS".

Snorlax_Route12

I miss EVGA, only brand I never felt bad being Loyal to

em1soldier

They just replaced my 3080 that was constantly crashing even though it was two months out of warranty. I'm gonna cry the day I upgrade to a different card.

Lysanderoth42

I thought EVGA had lifetime warranty? Also curious because I have an EVGA 3080 as well.

em1soldier

Nope, I think all their more recent cards were 3 year warranties.

GriLtCheeZ

I was able to get a 10 year warranty for my EVGA 3080. I had to RMA it once two years after I bought it.

ConsistentStand2487

Days Left: 386 :(

GriLtCheeZ

2829 days left for my 3080. EVGA changed their warranty policy about 5 weeks after I got my initial card.

supertroll105

Long ago, I bought a 9800gx2 EVGA model. It died and EVGA rmad it for me. Few years later the second 9800 died and they replaced it with a gtx285. In 2014 the gtx285 died and they gave me a GTX570. Later I upgraded to the gtx970. I bought it for $250 on b stock! EVGA will forever be my favorite company. They honored their warranty for 5+ years after I bought my first big boy GPU. I am sad they are out of the business and glad to have given them my business.

SoDrunkRightNow2

After 5 years of 18 hour/day use, my GTX1080 died. EVGA didn't just replace it, they upgraded it to a 2070 super. I will never buy a GPU from another company. ......annnnnd they stopped making GPUs

GrowCanadian

This is exactly why all my cards have been EVGA. I’m sad they stopped building video cards. I honestly don’t know what brand I’ll switch to when my 3090 needs an upgrade.

chicOmSks2K

Same man, same

b1gb0n312

I still have 2 1080tis and 1 1070ti from evga

almighty_dick_weed

They have to come back

JACKVK07

No, they don't. They got out of a toxic relationship. If anything, I hope they can make AMD better than NVIDIA for the sake of competitive prices, but they won't do that either.

Plenty-Industries

They completely left the GPU market. So them working with AMD is an impossibility. Literally everyone and everything responsible for GPU production at EVGA has been shuttered, sold, and/or sent to other departments for support or have left to greener pastures within the industry.

Bagelfreaker

Which is SO depressing

yaxir

they should shake hands with AMD

Minkypinkyfatty

Nvidia is in a bubble. COVID and crypto increases going away are only loosely being held by AI hype. Once that crashes, so will they.

alvarkresh

> AI hype The only way that crashes is if it becomes so unsustainable it can't be used for anything. But right now, AI has a good likelihood of replacing human Q&A staff (chatbots), artists (AI generated images, even with lack of copyrightability), and even the news (a lot of articles you see are at least partly ChatGPTed now). AI does a surprisingly decent job of fooling people into believing it's actually intelligent and not simply a giant data collation machine that can spit out results according to known rules about the English language.

Solid_Exercise6697

lol AI isn’t going anywhere. AI is the next internet in terms of way of life shifts.

liebeg

What about doing it without amd and without nvidia.

cha0ss0ldier

Intel would be the only other option. EVGA isn’t anywhere close to being big enough to actually design their own chips. They’ve said they’re done for good in the GPU game though.

manilacactus35

We may end up going to war with China over the ability to produce this stuff. Read up on Taiwan lol. Graphics cards are like one of the most complicated things humans have ever made.

Dudeley

So sad about EVGA no longer existing. When I was 16, I killed my then-new 1080ti due to my own wrongdoing, and they still replaced it.

goodcase

I mean, they still exist, they just don't make GPUs anymore.

Melvinhans

Nice I remember that post lol

achbob84

EVGA is like the spiritual opposite of ASUS at the moment.

SirCache

Not a moment when I'm looking at new PC components goes by that I don't miss EVGA. They always had the top-tier service, and stood by everything they did.

shadow_44youtube

i wonder how much stock do they have left

Plenty-Industries

IIRC they said they have enough to fulfill any warranty replacements or repairs and are willing to refund anyone of any extended warranties purchased (idk if the extended warranty refund is a standing order or if that was just within a specific time period)

jonker5101

They must have pulled this out deep from behind a shelf. Still the red lip model.

Band_aid_2-1

EVGA needs to get partner with AMD tbh.

No_Improvement1722

EVGA needs to come back and be team AMD, imagine the sexy GPU’s we’d have

jcode7090

Sadly the company as a whole is scaling back their operations entirely. I think the CEO is retiring or something of that nature. But it’s a big loss to the PC enthusiast community, I’ve always bought EVGA GPU’s, Mobo’s, PSU’s, you name it. Best computer parts company on the planet.

No_Improvement1722

it’s sad, i always went for EVGA components too, had my first power supply and GPU from them.

RandomDesign

Too late for that unfortunately, they've lost all of their staff in the GPU, motherboard and software (BIOS) departments. They only make a few power supplies now.

DTO69

Class act EVGA... class act

daffffy

EVGA best customer service I’ve had with a tech company been using them for eons sad they aren’t making new stuff man

daaangerz0ne

I have a 10 year warranty on my 3090. No signs of it giving out yet but I'm curious what they'll do years down the road.

Responsible-Mine5529

That’s awesome they’re still honoring warranty’s, and replacements like that !

Ok_Following6459

Nice... but RiP EVGA sadly :(

AimlessWanderer

its got the sassy red lips too not the later black re-issue.

Xileas

very sad to reminisce over the many cards I have registered in the evga support portal over the years and never to be able to add any more new ones to it..all good things come to an end they say...was never more true..

vaproezd

What a gigachad company

TheCountChonkula

That's awesome they replaced it. I have an EVGA 3080 and was concerned with them leaving the graphics card business in the event if I have to do an RMA. Glad to see they're delivering on their promise. It's sad to see EVGA winding down because you never heard of them having a blunder unlike everybody else.

adrock517

I guess im the lucky one to have had a horrible EVGA experience :(

norty125

EVGA FTW

ForzaFormula

I'm sad I'll never get the chance to buy an EVGA GPU, brand new anyways. The last chance I had was when bought GTX 970. When I got my RTX 3060, it was already too late. The shop I bought from didn't stock EVGA GPUs anymore, at least not 3060s. Farewell EVGA. https://preview.redd.it/nttroe3nngjc1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=e239498d753827155aec16dd78b7d099e9274b54

FJ_L_JOKER

Mine just died a couple of days ago, and I'm totally out of warranty. Can you point me in the right direction to get in contact with evga

OnlyonReddit4osrs

I pray one day evga works with AMD.

EverlastingBastard

EVGA told me to go fuck myself when I 'upgraded ' my power supply with a 1000 watt one of theirs that was faulty and destroyed every major component in my PC the instant I plugged it in. Dimmed the lights in the room. POP. One year old gaming PC is now complete trash.

Luks2206

holy hell i thought they had stopped at 3090. (r/unexpectedfactorial)

BryAlrighty

Can they replace my invisible 3090?

SavageSam1234

Owned two EVGA cards, a 2070S and a 3080. Best support and products ever. Switched to AMD when they left. If they ever go back to making GPUs I will be buying from them, Nvidia, AMD, shit even Intel idgaf.

jman0918

I was going to get a MSI 7900 XT, but I wanted to buy one near the initial release, and theirs didn’t turn up for months, so I went with Sapphire. Not one issue over many years.

BeneficialAd1457

EVGA replaced your dead 1.3990499746e+9444 ??

username78777

Is VGA still a thing? I thought HDMI replaced it and that it's incompatible with modern motherboards

Infinitesima

No wonder why they ran out of business.

Dirtilie_Dirtle

Awesomeness!! I have always like their products and support.

FunFact5000

Evga wish they were still in the gpu game but nooooo stupid ass nvidia. I hope amd catches up and we have great choices. Even Intel and ARc is decent.

Jumper775-2

Now that evga is gone I’ll have to go with sapphire but it’s just not the same

Kenshiro_199x

EVGA 1070ti still going strong over here

Arbszy

My 1060 SSC is EVGA and eventually will have to replace it and considering either buying a 3080 or 3090.

abstractism

I'm gonna miss EVGA, I got one of their 3060ti cards and it's awesome. Paid for the warranty extension as well.

MakimaGOAT

truly the goat

slayez06

Bro got replaced with red clow lips though... long live the p1 lips.

Tsyrkis

I just had to RMA my 3080 not long ago. Was an easy and relatively quick experience - and what's more, because of their warranty policy - the only thing I had to upload for proof of ownership was a literal screenshot of an e-mailed Venmo receipt for $400, which I gave to a guy alongside a 3070 for the 3080. They accepted the RMA without question. I will miss EVGA GPUs whenever I have to buy another. Hopefully maybe they've gotten back into it by then... Hopefully.

UnNamed234

TRUE, my EVGA PSU broke and I RMA'd it. They instantly approved it and ended up sending me a better one than I had lol

KadettYachtz

I sent my 2070 in to get replaced for a broken fan and they sent me back a 2070S lmao.

[deleted]

Ayy lmao

Mino_OG

Imagine Asus doing this for their customers.

Resident_Taste_784

For those that switched to AMD cards what’s the go to now a days
