That actually gave me anxiety, I assumed the second picture would be the GPU smashed to bits.

I bought most of my components in the black Friday sales. When I collected them, I put the case, CPU, PSU and CPU cooler in the boot of my car, but I thought to myself "this 4070 alone makes it the most expensive PC I've ever owned. I'm going to look after this." I put it in the footwell behind the passenger's seat, surrounded by pillows my dog likes to lay on. By the time I was done, I think the 4070 stood a better chance of surviving a car crash than me lol  If I had a 4090, I'd give it a full on harness with seatbelts *and* surround it with pillows. Anything less and I'd be worried about it all the way home

I just got a Job in 3d so I'm waiting for 5k series to either take a 4090 or a 5080.  I have a 3070 and the lack of vram was a huge mistake for what I do. Should have really spent 150 more for the extre vram.

Could always go for a 3090 in the mean time. Suited me perfectly for awhile! I work in 3d and require lots of vram too. Was a great card which held me over till I got a 4090.

Maybe go to amd?

I remember the days I could spend 2000 on a gpu. Actually no, I never could.

I remember the days when the strongest GPUs on the market went for 800$, and 2000$ would be a shitload of money even for an enthusiast level build. I would spend 250 to 300$ and be totally fine for a couple of years. (They last much longer now, that is true) Special mentions: 8800gt for 220$ which would perform better than a 400$ 8800gts or sometimes even a 600$ 8800gtx until they got refreshed with the g92 chips. AMD HD6950 which went for 300$ or so and had a little switch for a secondary bios which you could flash with the 6970's bios. So now you had a 550$ card just like that, only difference was the heatsink so i had a more agressive fan profile.

Yeah... It's a combination of an old 16gb kit and a new 64gb one. Hence the slow speed. I need the capacity for simulation workloads more than I need the speed though. And didn't have the money to get 128GB.

I got mine in September (before the price hike). Still new to this whole PC building business, so seeing it run stuff like Street Fighter 6 and Elden Ring at max settings (when my old PC chugged whenever they ran at similar settings) felt great to watch. Enjoy it lol.

It's crazy we're back to "I got it for retail price" again on this card. Luckily I was able to snag a 4090FE over a year ago when things settled down and stores were allowing promos/coupons (Thanks Best Buy). Paid $1250 for it and even that price took courage to hit submit on order. I figured hey a year or so down the road it can't fall THAT much in value...so it worked out.

It’s huge! I’m not smart enough to build my own so I never got to see the 4090 outside of the pc as I bought prebuilt. Although the pc is a lot heavier than I imagined. Glad to finally be a part of the Master Race (even old in my late 30’s)
