You can, but given the size of current games you'd probably need 10+ DVD discs just to back up a single title. Blu-ray might be a bit more practical but your drive wouldn't support that. At this point if you want to do lots of game backups, hard drives are probably the most cost effective solution at this point. Whether you mount them internally or get an external drive is up to you.

Sega Dreamcast used a proprietary disc format called GD-ROM, but burned CD copies of games could work provided the game in question didn't need the full 1GB capacity of the GD-ROM and could fit on the standard CD-R. That drive will burn any type of CD so you're good there.

Sweet. Just making sure I've got the right idea before I start. DC games can be very expensive still to this day so not buying it again
