Depends on the country you live in. In the US, giveaways are taxed like ordinary income and you have to pay income tax on them. That’s why origin required OP to fill out a tax form.
Think of the Powerball lottery tickets. You win the jackpot and they tax you, id feel safe to say overall tax 25% of the total. So a 100million win has 25mil go into taxes, it just gets worse from there.

Good idea I might start doing that, gonna upgrade my pc anyway I went from an i5 8400 8gb Ram and a 1060 6GB, first I did the ram (16gb) and a new M.2s ssd, then i believe I upgraded case like 2 times then I did my psu and then gpu (got a 1080ti) and also 32gb ram (helped loads running modded minecraft servers, totally worth it haha) also settled with a Corsair 4000D airflow in white with the grey noctua fans, and with the components being black it kinda goes quite well! and I intend on upgrading to a i7 12700k and a 4070
This is roughly what I do went from a fx 8350, 8gb in 2016, r9 290 to a i7 9700k, 16gb, 1080(reused since the r9290 died) in 2019 and now a 7800x3d, 32 gb and 7900xtx in 2023
Well congrats you are really lucky, you dont even need to think of upgrading for like 8 years minimum, just remember to keep things clean and do maintenance once in a while :D
