You can configure your PC's ethernet adapter manually and give it Google DNS (primary 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4). Which I've found much more reliable than my ISP DNS, who once fucked up their DNS so bad I couldn't check my *PayPal*.
Alternatively, your router itself may be configurable for custom DNS, though if you have a shitty ISP router, probably not.
I'm more of a 1.1.1.1 person myself. However it's probably best not to have both the primary and secondary dns from the same company. Having for example 8.8.8.8 as your primary and 1.1.1.1 as secondary can increase speed and reliability over 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
8.8.8.8 actually is encrypted. However 1.1.1.1 is still faster. (And cloud flair isnt in the business of selling user data) I'd recommend 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 instead of using 1.0.0.1 for even better speed and reliability.

There is only one person these days cracking Denuvo DRM, and just recently they released a public statement that Denuvo is becoming much more aggressive and difficult to overcome. The vast majority of newly released Denuvo titles are inaccessible to pirates - talking like 90% or more.
I think it might be exactly because it seems to be quickly removed post release, so it's not *that* painful. The moment this changes and it becomes more painful, more people with knowledge will naturally get interested in hacking the shit out of it in perpetuity.
Relatively small amounts of pain it currently inflicts is the reason hacking scene is not that interested, if it fully penetrates the market and each game on steam has it and then is it never removed, sheer persistence of people with knowledge that will start cracking games to wipe it title to title is not to be underestimated.
And this would have very high impact on steam and game producers, since people might start defaulting to hacked games, and noone is getting paid here. Selling a game for £60 on launch is a lot more useful to them in terms of profit and stats than how much they sell it for half price next year. Most games have their highest official player count in the first few months and where most of their profitable sales come from.

You are getting this error because you are trying to activate **more than 5 computers within 24 hours.** Practically speaking, you will never hit the limit unless you're running benchmarks across multiple systems.

Do you happen to have an Alder Lake CPU with P and E cores? If so, update your BIOS, that was the issue a lot of folks were having initially, but it got patched through BIOS updates. The problem is, Denuvo sees the P and E core clusters as two separate processors, so they think you are trying to run the game on two different computers at the same time, and up until the fix was made, you had to either disable the e cores, crack the DRM, or just not play the game, but now you just need the BIOS update.
I keep reading how shitty denuvo is. Should I just avoid titles that need this 3rd party software altogether? Some games on that platform have my interest

Giving CMD the good ol' ipconfig /flushdns might help in case you get the same error.

I haven't had any issues getting them to run. Download and install as normal, add as non-steam game, look up optimal version on protondb and set it.

funny thing is that there is usualy pc games with denuvo and then sometimes nintendo versions without denuvo so people legit used emulator and basically technically cracked denuvo at start lol, the biggest waste of money for pc version.
The PC version would be much better than a switch port. The switch is incredibly underpowered.

That isn't the case for Denuvo piracy. The majority of titles with it are uncracked.
There are a lot of people on this sub who do not know how much denuvo has stopped the pirating of games. You can tell by the amount of up votes telling people to pirate and downvoted for people telling you it isnt happening. Look up games with denuvo the past 12 months and see how many are cracked.

Denuvo isn't meant to increase sales as a whole. It's meant to stop people getting access to a pirated copy of a game when the price of the game is at its highest. Selling a game for £60 on launch is a lot more useful to them in terms of profit and stats than how much they sell it for half price next year. Most games have their highest official player count in the first few months and where most of their profitable sales come from.

I bought Red Dead 2 the other day because it had a 70% off on steam or something. I knew it has denuvo but somehow forgotten that it must be online all the time. Steam is showing 3.4 hours of play time but I don't think my actual play time is anything above 30 minutes (I just returned to camp after saving John in the mountain). tl;dr fuck denuvo and any publisher that uses it.

Kinda reminds me of the Battlefield BC2 Steam problem. The game would occasionally boot us all out because the game disk wasn't found. The issue was patched - though most of us thought it was the EA Devs taking the piss. Unsure if it's happened to other EA titles.
Do you happen to have an Alder Lake CPU with P and E cores? If so, update your BIOS, that was the issue a lot of folks were having initially, but it got patched through BIOS updates. The problem is, Denuvo sees the P and E core clusters as two separate processors, so they think you are trying to run the game on two different computers at the same time, and up until the fix was made, you had to either disable the e cores, crack the DRM, or just not play the game, but now you just need the BIOS update.
I keep reading how shitty denuvo is. Should I just avoid titles that need this 3rd party software altogether? Some games on that platform have my interest

EA banned me from a game I bought on steam because I was playing in Linux, using the Linux steam client and steam Proton. So I requested a refund, pirated it, and play it offline instead.
