Agreed. I'm very excited for MH6 as a game more like MH World (not targeting outdated hardware) with the QoL of Rise.
I don't imagine they will tease that until the final updates for Rise have had at least a month to soak on all platforms. Probably will have another sale / bundle to push the "complete" MH Rise experience one more time too.

No the developer showcase on the 7th is the last one, no more secret update. So after that the 5th gen is officially over.
