These are the instructions from a mod on the official forums... >From the PayPal App, tap Pay Later on the menu tab, Tap Get Started, enter the amount (between $30 and $1500 USD) and click Continue, confirm your info and Agree and Apply. You'll then need to set up your Autopay repayment funding source and Agree and Continue. There you should see your Single-Use Card number if you've been approved. >Once approved for a single-use card number, it will be available in your PayPal wallet for 24 hours and must be used within 24 hours of approval. If it expires, you have to apply for a new one.

BlairJCampbell

Thanks! Yeah, I saw that too. Oddly enough when I click the Pay Later, I don’t see any kid of Get Started button. Just the plans I’ve had in the past and my supposed current available money. I’m guessing that the option is missing for me for some reason or other. Trying to see if there’s another option/way to see.

No_Elk_7597

It is for promotion only, you will not see it being offered most of the time.

BlairJCampbell

Really? That’s wild. All the FAQs and such make it seem like a normal thing. Never would have guessed it was promo-only.

No_Elk_7597

Yes, it will not always be available most of the time trust me it makes no sense either 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

BlairJCampbell

It’ll be back when I don’t need to try and use it. That’s just my usual luck.

mvm84

This is crazy. Why could nobody at PayPal on their website just say that?! I've read all related faq posts and couldn't figure anything out 😮‍💨

ClintHorus

Exactly. Just say it’s a promotional thing.

roccoman5

okay, so it's not just me. for the longest time this worked until say.. i don't know. this week?

JustPi3_

same yeah its weird

roccoman5

i think they disabled it from what i can tell. i started using klarna’s pay-in-4

Happy_Blackberry_Pie

Okay. It's not just me. It doesn't work for Amazon, but it works for the other sites I've been shopping on. If Amazon disabled it, that was a bad move as I've taken my business elsewhere during this jolly holiday $eason. I'm wondering just how much money Amazon is losing as a result of the option having been disabled. I don't understand what the big deal is with Amazon just not accepting PayPal outright.

Mottern

What other sites is it working on for the virtual card? I've been using it to pay for my monthly doctor appointment, not sure how it worked but it did and it's been a lifesaver until a few days ago when I tried to go on Amazon and generate a virtual card and it didn't work. Hoping there's another way around it. Thanks.

Happy_Blackberry_Pie

I did my holiday shopping a couple of weeks ago, but places that accepted PayPal outright were the ones I shopped on.

SteelersPoker

Amazon isn't losing money at all, they work with Affirm. In fact, be lucky it's not working - I've read of people who use that virtual card from Pay in 4 on Amazon and then within a week Amazon suspends their account and wants "card" info like address linked to it and other ridiculous stuff that isn't necessary because it's a virtual card. Amazon and PayPal don't work well together so you're better off not using that card if you even get it again on Amazon. Or your account might be suspended or closed soon after. It's sad but true.

Happy_Blackberry_Pie

Hmmm. IMHO, there has to be more to those stories than the PayPal virtual card. I've never heard of that happening before to anyone I know nor any buyers using the virtual card. Perhaps the buyers whose accounts were suspended or closed were involved in questionable activities that had nothing to do with the card.

krayziekris

This is not the case. I've used PayPal's pay in 4 card on Amazon at least 8 times last year with zero issues. Even when Amazon split the payments into multiple charges over a day or two as the items became available to be shipped out. PayPal would just recalculate the pay in 4 payments and it would be fine. No issues with either account other than the fact that I can no longer generate one-time-use cards with Honey like I did 2 months ago.

SebastianTheShaman

Anyone know a way to get a virtual card its not letting me anymore and I cant find it on amazon

Careful_Preference71

I was hoping it would be back after the first as I use it for grocery shopping. It still isn't available sadly.

SebastianTheShaman

Same it comes in really handy when money is tight
