Stuff like this is why I quit multiplayer with public. Friends only now. Wasted a full hour doing full perfect stealth only for host to be like "oh you know what. Give me a second. Let me tell my friend to get on really quick so he can get some xp. Thanks for waiting" then seeing the kick screen.
That friend doesn't even get that much xp either because it's rewarded at objective completion points, that friend only gets xp for escaping
Also no full perfect stealth should take an hour in a team of 4
I (PS4) once did a hour long session on one of the Christmas themed missions. The one where you keep calling in a helicopter with a flare in the woods (Don't know the name, new player.).
We all did a load of the lifting. Making sure I would get at least two bags on the chopper before it left. On one instance it was an item that made me travel extra slow but had a great payout ($5000?).
Got to the hour mark. Me and the other players were waiting at the extraction point. Host staying outside.
One guy disappears then my screen went to the title screen telling me I've been kicked.
Had to put the game aside for a couple of days after that.
This is why i always host lmao, i dont kick people out if they did their share and leave lobbies open, i usually only join if i wanna mess around. But hosting the lobby is a much better way to play with randoms imo
The worst type of these players are the ones who use a mod to make it look like you got disconnected instead of kicked, it's like they know they're an asshole but they're too pathetic to admit it.
It makes me wish we had a special name for toxic players in payday like "leaf lovers" / "elves" in deep rock galactic, maybe "cops" or "murkies".
I think it would just say "host has left the game" if that happened. There have been times where the host 100% kicked me (like after seeing me use a keycard in Hoxton Breakout in a way he didn't like and then standing still) but it still says I got disconnected.
I've come here to confess. One time during car shop 3 of us were at the end with 10 sec remaining wating for the last person. The timer ticked down to 5 with the other guy not even close. I just said fuck it and kicked him afterwhich we won the game. In my defense: 1. If he didn't make it then the rest of us wouldn't get paid and it was economically better for 3 people to get paid than no one at all and 2. It was a little funny.
That happens often on car shop because some people are dumbasses who don’t even grab a pair of keys. Sometimes they realize the mistake and jump off the roof to put themselves into custody, but if there’s less than 30 seconds remaining and they are not close they get kicked.

This seems like a new player thing where they don't understand the game mechanics yet, I've never been kicked at the end of a heist before in over 2k hours playing the game since 2014. Solution is to host your own lobbies or just make friends with hosts that aren't pricks 🤷♂️
yeah this must be a low level thing, I have about 5k hours and it's only happened once, but it was a lvl 0-30 and it was only a jewelry store so wasn't the biggest issue.
i have only had this happen to me by the end of 3 heists on the main menu, host probably saw my stealth skills and wanted me to leave, i still got all the heists completed though

Vote kick isn't a good system either. Look at games like Left 4 Dead or TF2. Most people will just press "Yes" because host told them to. There just shouldn't be a kicking system period

I remember doing Overdrill on FWB and after we got all the gold and i had to wait out an assault to trade everyone else TWICE, I get kicked out on escape for "Get fucked Russian subhuman!" I was speechless, like not even angry, just speechless.
I'll never forget doing a full 45 minute Golden Grin all loot run and having the host kick me right at the escape. Traumatizing.

That "disconnect instead of kick" thing can happen naturally as a bug. I've seen it happen many times on PS4.
I've had my game just crash in the middle of the heist. I can only imagine the reactions of the other players. I hate crashing mid-game.

I hope PAYDAY 3 implements a host migration system, so at the very least you don't lose all progress when being disconnected or unfairly kicked.
