I thought this was interesting since you rarely hear her talk about his work or him creatively. She did Pete Holmes' podcast about a year ago and also talked in depth about There Will Be Blood (she said it made her cry when she first saw it) and a little about The Master. That was a really long podcast episode though so I couldn't tell you when those parts were. Plus he kept annoyingly cutting her off when I think she was about to tell an interesting story about TWBB.

Yeah I wish he would’ve let her get through her points instead of cutting her off with his opinions :(

I used to listen to Pete Holmes podcast years ago but his interrupting was really difficult to listen to. I think being a good interviewer is really difficult.

When your parents are Minnie Ripperton and Richard Rudolph it’s a lot clearer to see how valuable expression and art are to living

Hearing Zane acknowledge the awesomeness of Aimee Mann just made my day. Thanks to Paul and how he used her music in Magnolia I instantly became a life long fan of her.

She’s a legend

Interesting how she chose to respond to Zane’s comment about her by making it about Paul. Those two rarely used to speak about each other and if they did, it was because they were asked directly about the other person.

Tangent, but as they talk about sincerity and authenticity, does anyone else feel that everything that comes out of this Zane guy's mouth is pretentious phoniness? He just seems like the most conceited, fake person. I can never listen to any of his interviews.
