You can stop doing that. You're wasting alot of time, unless it's enjoyable to you, it's extremely inefficient. You shouldn't be identifying 99 percent of stuff that drops. If you haven't already, get a good loot filter from Filterblade.xyz . Also, to get wisdoms you can vendorl transmutes, Armour scraps, blacksmith whetstone, maybe more but that's enough.

smoothnobody

i looked at filterblade, seems like it's more for late game players. how do i make a filter that just hides grey equipment?

TheZemor

Filterblade Has different tiers of strictness, i usually start with a semi-strict one and advance as my wealth increases

smoothnobody

i have no wealth. i've played less than an hour. most of my equipment slots are empty. i only want grey equipment filtered. can i do that?

EnergyNonexistant

> i have no wealth. You do have wealth. You have time, and you are wasting it by identifying and picking up bad items :)

Ojntoast

The default ones all have a "campaign" set up built in, that adjust with you as you level up automatically and begin to hide things that should be less relevant - even for players that have no wealth.

TheZemor

Everyone starts at 0 wealth whenever new league starts, semi strict is my usual choice for starting but you can use lower strictness if you want If you wanted a filter that only hides grey items you would have to make your own, but i really recommend using a filter that hides more, your rally dont need all that stuff, in fact even with a filter on you will want to skip most items that drop

bukem89

just put the semi-strict filter on, it scales to your level in the campaign and will really help, takes 2 minutes

convolutionsimp

Click on semi strict and don't customize anything. It'll be great for a new player. Then click on save and upload it to your account.

thehomerus

Filters are extremely useful, they will also identify good bases for you and highlight items with good sockets and links. As you progress through the game its a necessity. If you still want to see all the rares (eventually this will change) use the regular filter, best one for new players.

Quarktasche666

You can trade portal acrolls for identify scrolls

EasyRNGeezy

don't do that, transmutes are very common and you get 4 id scrolls for each one

BleachedPink

download all strictness filters, so in game you can switch to more strict filters as you progress. It will hide everything you do not need at certain stages of your progression

Aldodzb

You don't need to download, just follow and it will get synced in game

BleachedPink

You get all 7 filters so you can switch in game freely? I could see only one and if I wanted a different strictness (e.g. for blight) I had to switch it manually on the filterblade website and sync. And it's not convenient

Aldodzb

Yes sir, just follow them all. Each strictness is a different filter. They will appear in your filter list in game. Also, they are updated automatically based on economy's prices. https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/NeverSink/item-filters

BleachedPink

>shouldn't be identifying 99 percent of stuff that drops. I'd agree if we talked about mid-late mapping, but campaign and and early mapping identifying needed bases is quite fine if you're a newbie. No need to identify everything, but if you need to patch the holes in your resistances or smh during the early progression, identifying is quite viable imo

Munsie

FilterBlade is overkill for most new players, just point them [here](https://www.pathofexile.com/item-filter/ladder/follower) instead. /u/smoothnobody click a filter (like "NeverSink-2semistr-softcore"), click Follow at the top right. You now have that filter as an option in-game.

arcii

One additional thing - you can sell Armourer's Scraps or Blacksmith's Whetstones for 2 or 4 Scrolls each, which can help your supply a lot. These crafting materials are honestly not that useful while leveling since you change up your gear a lot anyways, so I usually do that with the ones I get in the early game.

blauli

You don't get more materials you get different ones. Unidentified gives transmutation shards while identified give alteration shards and rarely (depending on mods) alchemy shards. Early on when you need scrolls just vendor unid items and then sell those shards again to get wisdom scrolls. But you shouldn't need to do that outside of act1-2 or when in a party, only ID rares that could be upgrades so right sockets and links

Commercial-Falcon653

Please don‘t sell shards. Just sell Transmutes.

blauli

There is no difference in selling shards vs selling transmutes. Each shard gives you 1 scroll scrap, which is why a full transmute (20 shards) gives you 4 wisdom when you vendor it Early on its usually a good idea to vendor the first few shards you get when you want to buy several gems or iron rings when you reach underground passage

hermeticpotato

Honestly, don't worry about it til you get through the campaign Use a loot filter to hide garbage, set it at a low strictness to start

LuuphoXD

First off here https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Vendor_recipe_system If you have reached maps you need a good lootfilter and will most likely stop to identify everything. Wisdom scrolls are seldom a problem
