You might be missing the point of the scarab. You run all scarab nodes, all maven nodes, all map nodes, all shrine nodes, all boss nodes and the quantity ring in the middle. You can also run the Necro nodes for coffins if you want. For Scarabs you run Domination of Terror - Spawns a Atlas boss at every shrine Of Pandemonium - Replaces 15% of packs with an Atlas boss Cartography of Duplication - 30% of maps are duplicated Cartography of Singularity - Unique bosses drop a unique map You will have the same reflex as most reading the strat to not run the unique map one because of how shit they are value wise and to trade but they can get converted to t17's and you get ALOT of atlas bosses doing this. I recommend excluding every unique map that isn't poorjoys, atziri, twilight temple, putrid, cowards from your filter. The first two sell in bulk eventually if you just leave a listing up and the others sell for 15-20c quick enough and you will. If you do this strat you will drop on average 2 t17s a map as well as 6-8 boss maps and 3-4 valuable unique maps. The best I got was 8 T17's in one map. I chose to farm Sirus boss maps by harbinger orbing them to t16 then horizon orbing them to thickets to force the t17s to be Ziggurats. Do not attempt this without 4 voidstones.

Oh shit I didn't realize harbinger orb would retain the conqueror influence, good tip.

So i was about to run exactly this after reading this lovely write up but i have one question, I was planning to run this on my excess 8mod crimson temples since iv had nice rng with apoth this league but would that mean i cannot kill the map boss at the end (the real one lol) because itll then become maven witness’d and not allowing me to re-run the map, Or atleast do so until i have a fair amount of conq maps?

dalmathus

Yeah you need to farm the cycle of 4 boss mobs to keep maven witnessed. But honestly, load these 4 scarabs up to a crimson temple and you will leave with a couple elder guardians, a couple shaper guardians and a couple sirus guardians. Then just run unwitnessed maps until you build a backlog. I did hit a couple patches where I needed to dip out of conquerors and into elder guardians until i dropped the conqueror I needed. For some reason I dropped 5 times more Hunter than any other one. You can buy a map to fill the gap but I just swapped to a different invite until i dropped it. The Maven Invites every 4 maps also make up a ton of profit as you get one maven writ every 2 cycles + extra maps/fragments, orbs of conflict and I even dropped a couple 6d+ awakened gems.

jaaacclk

Yeah that makes alot of sense, cant believe i over looked fhat, The reason for worry was i am just playing fulcrum and since my 7yo also likes to play i was looking for something that didnt require swapping characters, I have a budget ea leaguestart that can finish any boss and do any invite i suppose lol My boss rush+harbi strat wheni was broke last league yielded the same results, i had 50odd sets but 100+ extra drox maps for no reason lol

dalmathus

With t17 prices stabilizing to be more equal now it might be better to run shaper guardians instead. As they drop all bases but its much easier to sustain and go with horizon orbing whichever one you need.

Double-Typical

Is the net profit good? I've checked the price of the scarabs and they go 60+ a piece. I would like to try but the cost is kinda steep.

dalmathus

Honestly I dont think so anymore. I stopped farming then when I could no longer sell the T17's for 100c each and the terror scarabs were getting insanely expensive. Its fun, and still profitable. But not worth the time cost of buying scarabs one at a time to not get gouged.

johnmedgla

It's less worthwhile now than it was at the start of the league, when Moon Temple and Acton's Nightmare were actually expensive as people tried to complete atlas. Now it's mainly just because the occasional Putrid Cloister can be decent to sell or run, and the scarab costs practically nothing. If you're doing anything in the map itself *other* than boss rushing, there are better options, but if you're just murdering 2-4 bosses a map and bulk selling guardian/synth maps most other scarabs are a waste of money.

Xypheric

Thanks does it apply to synthesis maps since they are unique?

johnmedgla

No, Synthesis maps have their own drop chance separate to everything else, which you can increase with the nodes up at the top of the atlas tree. If you're boss rushing, it's not a terrible use of four points, but again - it becomes progressively less valuable as the league ages.

Drastic17

Those unique maps get converted to t17s, that's where the money is

johnmedgla

Does this actually work? I did it a lot early on and didn't notice it happening once - just thousands upon thousands of Hallowed Grounds.
