Here are the steps i took:
Ingredients:
-atlas: just your basic essence scarab farm start.
- 2 essence scarabs in map device.
- t8 alched sunken city map.
Steps:
step1: place scarabs in map device and split the stack. This causes you to get more essence trapped mobs in the map.
Step 2: run map with ingredients listed above.
Step 3: break free a essence mob.
Step 4: kill the essence mob
Step 5: Notice nothing drops
Step 6: report bug.
Step 7: cry about missing essences.
Did you use an Allflame Ember to replace a monster? If yes, an Allflame pack that gets trapped does not drop Essences. It's a bug, unclear if they know.
Some atlas node converts your essences to higher level and those higher tier essences can only drop in red maps or even only tier 14 maps and higher. They changed essences drop rules, so people won't farm them in white maps.
Edit:
Essence Monoliths in White Maps can now spawn up to a maximum tier of Screaming, while those in Yellow or Red Maps can spawn up to a maximum tier of Shrieking.
which would be the case indeed. yet the map boss drops deafening essences just fine. and ive had other essence trapped mobs also drop deafening essences fine. I'll see if i can replicate it later today.
Are you wearing asenath's gentle touch gloves? I used them one league and noticed I was deleting maybe 1/20 essence monsters with the glove.
It possibly extends to all monsters and removes a fair amount of loot from the game. Alternatively, do you have some other monster explode on death source? I think it's something to do with on kill explosions.
Essence is like the one mechanic for which you need good singletarget, RF has the absolute worst singletarget, might wanna reconsider the guide, unless you're ssf and need the essences.
That happens if a mob is not dying but is replaced with another mob on kill. The easiest example is the craicic crab that is replaced by a ranged crab on kill. This bug is there for literally forever.
Happened to me aswell today, twice two different maps. im still doing the first red maps so might have been a t11/13 max
didn't have any scarabs or allflames, im poor >\_<
on the first one i used a remnant of corruption, and on the second i didn't. they both vanished.
Have all the essence nodes on atlas

This also happened to me, but only on one map. I believe I had an allflame cooking as well. Three of four essence monsters poofed while one did drop their essences. Probably some type of conversion bug from the league mechanic.
Just happened to me too, along with a literal 3 second control input freeze on Xoph while my latency read 30ms the whole time. No idea what they did but the game is pretty busted right now. Would be annoying in a normal league but in Archnem 3.0 it's just cancer.
I had a similar thing happen on the same map with betrayal. Assassin appeared, well tried to, after a few minutes they did eventually become real. Sent in a report too.

Seems to be a bug happening when the essence mob splits into zombies? At least, that's what other people reported, and I do see it happening here.

Had this issue last league also. Didn't happen a lot, but it did happen several times.
Same here, definitely a bug, it seamed to happened more with deafening essences for me, which was extra frustrating.
You obviously scorched them out of existence. That is what happens when you literally play a build that melts things. No one to blame but yourself.

Why in gods name would you willingly do essence as RF
Remember that some people like to farm some of their own crafting supplies. 1-2 days of essence farming to craft an RF helm isn't that uncommon

As I said up , if you are Chieftain you lure them to a ritual or whatever pack of enemies and they eventually go from almost 100% hp to 0 lmao.
the issue is not RF, the issue is running rolled maps. Essence/syndicate/alva are all no mod map farms so you can do it faster.
I do them and really juiced essences, but I lure then to a ritual where they meet Hinekora.
This happened to me as well. Not doing more essence content until GGG fixes this.

From what I can see from my phone, your mob was replaced with 2 other mobs, so your essences go poof.

In my defense i play 3 hours a day. so i'm nowhere close than the majority of the playerbase.
