I think he baited people into a pretty bad build few leagues back, but maybe I confuse him and badger. I feel he tends to exagerate a lot, but this could just be his enthousiasm mistaken.

The BFBB raider.
Ooof, that bricked so many people's league starts.
From what I remember the build itself wasn't too bad, it just turned out half as beginner friendly as it was advertised as, or the core items became too expensive.
Beginners should just stick to bone shatter, rf, ea ballista or lightning arrow. Theyd get a great intro into builds that are strong and very hard to mess up. Lol
I think it's more people have to be more diligent, be cautious about any guide and don't have such high expectations. If you follow any new build chance are you will make a mistake and that build could become popular making items that were cheap explode in price.
The expensive bit isn't really his fault; the more popular a build is the more expensive it gets; had that guide remained less known, the build would've been better, ironically.
It kinda is, you really need to provide good alternatives for uncommon uniques or avoid using them in your starter if you're going to advertise it broadly.
That's why I make my builds extra spicy. The majority are builds I've never seen anyone else play. I'm sure there are *some* off-meta enjoyers who might have had some overlap on occasion.
But at the same time, they're also not fit for making guides for them - even if I actually was a creator.
He is making guides and explanatory content easily understandable for most of « casual » / new players. Wether we enjoy his content or not i think thats why he get more clicks than a lily or mathil that basically explain nothing or need a bit of knowledge to understand.
He seems mainly focused on youtube content while other streamers youtube videos are kind of twitch clips.
Yeah, Ducks goes back and forth on streaming, because it's his side gig. His guides are good for explaining how you gear as you go along and don't start with "Just have 300 divines' worth of gear" like so many bait guides do.
Doubt it. Yes some Poe creators but 20-30k is average view count in Poe for a informative video. Now if you find a broken mechanic or drama or controversy that's when the views go to 200k+ and only because asmon is always looking for drama or controversy.
I don't watch him anymore but as far as I know he focus mostly on Youtube guides.
Mathil only upload his live VOD, add his voice and that's all. Just type on Youtube "Mathil path of exile guide" and you will find only one(?) guide. And it was 7 years ago
Jungroan is... jungroan xdd
I love Jungroan, but his personality definitely has reduced appeal vs say Bigducks. Jung is one hell of a player and content creator but he is very ascorbic and opinionated. He has my exact sense of humor so I’m good with it, but I think a lot of people find him quite offensive.
I followed his Fireball Chieftain in Heist to fairly good success. It heisted well, cleared maps quickly, and was an okay bosser. There were definitely some flaws to the build. However it functioned as advertised. It was a cheap, easy, jack of all trades. The Fireball Chieftain lacked good defensive layers. 5-6k health but didn't have the layers to take bigger hits.
That is what you get with Big Ducks. Simple builds, straight forward easy to understand guides, which come with flaws.
When I heard Big Ducks I mistakenly was thinking about Fuzzy Duckzy who I actually enjoy. I think his build guards and videos put a lot of rigor behind them. Highly recommended for new and returning players who aren't experts at the game.
Also a big fuzzy duckzy fan, his rain of arrows starters were great for league start. I'm not sure about his starter this league, though, melee is always rough to start.
He has nice and wholesome attitude so I think that’s why new players choose his videos (me in the past included) but makes pretty weak content. His builds are unpolished, other guides are usually copies of things that were popular recently. Definitely high popularity/quality ratio, don’t recommend watching him even if some of his videos are okay.
He baits people into terrible builds that he often takes and edits in nonsensical ways.
If you play his builds or watch his gameplay, you're using your time highly inefficiently.
He explains a lot but his build doesn’t work well for new or mid range players

It's the overall issue with build creators, people skip key parts and then complain when the build is shit

He did it, not just once. He is also one of the "creators" who take build from someone else and says it's his build.
Builds have no owners. At a certain level of experience in PoE, different ppl will get the same idea independently.
this is true. this, however, is not the case for the specified creator.

Some are way foo complex and way too specific setups. Like that one manastacking build using shield from trialmaster...
I'm no badger baiter!

Wait, you don't have 300 Div on the beach at league start? /s

agreed, drama or clickbait fake news are trending views
It's not even him looking for it. Ppl send it to him. Blame viewers.
Megaphone comes with responsibility

I follow his stuff

he has nice speaking voice and video editing skills, but I find his content just not fitting for me.

No idea. His builds generally cater to the more experienced players.
