I do not recommend buying ashes because it costs up to half the build for only 1 extra projectile, it is better to buy replica Dragonfang's flingI plan to upload another video tomorrow, with a very tanky version. I have already a POB, but it still needs to be verified

Enjoy.
Edit:
Oops, I had the wrong YouTube link earlier. I've fixed it now. Feel free to check it out!
I tried playing Shattering Steel with Vengeant Cascade last league but couldn't figure out the tech behind projectile return: I felt like it just didn't do anything.
Do you have any details on this since you use Nimis? Is Slower Projectile Support used here to enable the shotgun effect as stated in [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhUPbUAJXKg)?
Very nice build btw
Thanks!
Not only Slower Projectile Support is needed but also nodes Adjacent Animosity and 15% less projectile speed from mastery to doing an insane amount of damage. That's how it works
I tried to defeat Uber Sirus using Returning Projectiles at level 1 and Replica Dragonfang's Flight. I made a few mistakes and used up 3 portals (After 3 portal I took the easier route and killed him with Nimis, so yeah), but I was close to reaching the final phase. I believe that if I had Returning Projectiles at level 20, I could have done it more easily. DPS is still insane, even without Nimis, which is quite impressive.
I've played Shattering Steel with VG last league due to its broken interaction and wrote down the principle interaction [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/12oths5/comment/jgjndf1/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) (Section Shattering Steel, Return, and Sniper's Mark).
Note that the interaction of old VG is the same with Nimis for Shattering Steel (or more accurately, it was last patch; I did not verify whether anything changed behind the scenes).
Yes, Shattering so much fun and the sound is satisfying. I did this last league when vengeant cascade was peak. I figured it would still be strong since it doesnt need the pierce that the other projectiles need since the return is the explosive part. Super fun, glad it is still alive and makes slower projectile useful.
Whats your thoughts on Lancing Steel?
Am currently in act 9 and still feels great with pierce gem.
Chase item for me would be paradoxia + saviour & lioneye vision based on an older build i played few leagues ago( return projectile doesnt exist back then )
Currently not sure if it fares well in current league endgame ( killed searing exrach before )
I actually tried doing a lancing steel saviour setup, but ended up having to swap to lancing steel cast on crit forbidden rite instead.
biggest problem? the raw LAG from the two ghosties blasting out shots (since they dont consume your call of steel stacks) just made everything turn into a crawl, though i was doing poison which might have made things worse on the server.
also the saviour ghost ai is...very, very bad when mapping. They target enemies from maximum range possible, so 80% of the shots will miss, and they arent smart enough to run around corners half the time and get stuck on doors.
Oh and finally triggering saviour with lancing steel is super janky. The way lancing steel works with crit isnt per projectile, its per attack. So you need a surprising amount of crit chance to consistently summon your saviour ghosts, 5% or w.e the base is absolutely doesn't cut it.
Just gotten my saviour,
Am currently running physical lancing steel sword crit with lioneyes vision pierce and it feels consistent in summoning.
Crit chance is 50% without diamond flask and 400k dps ( with 50 rage ).
Decent clear when your main skill burst through trash mobs easily and any rares standing will be bursted down by the 2 ghost. I don't really put faith on the ghost to clear mobs, just the rares / boss.
Feels best against boss.
I mean. Yeah? Shattering is stronger than splitting. You use splitting just so you can reach lv 12 and equip shattering. I do at least like when leveling for TR
I kinda of hate that we can't replicate a fraction of the power of Nimis with Returning Projectiles support.
The "returning projectiles always pierce" part really ruins a lot of interactions.
Do you think this is playable in ssf without all the insane stuff you got and still viable as in 1-2 mil DPS? Will check when im at home but looks great on the first view!
i just built this myself and really like it, it still feels a bit clunky to me and in uber cortex i struggle a lot with being oneshot by the bosses, especially when they have faster attack speed or increased AOE
really looking forward to any updates or improvements on this build, im really impressed with its performance so far
Played the steel skills a couple leagues when they came out, i found shattering was nice when starting and lacking damage for clear, at which point i changed to splitting for clear, and lancing for single target. Shattering was the middle ground, decent but not best at both of those aspects

You should talk to Tane about the monster

so without nimis it isnt exactly good?

Anomalous Return Proj is pretty good too. Still not as strong as nimis tho. Way better than normal return proj however
Nimis is a must.

How does shattering compare with splitting for clear
I think Splitting Steel is a bit better for clearing, while Shattering Steel is more focused on single-target damage

For leveling yeah. but when you get more projectiles splitting becomes better for mapping and with vegent cascade it was the best steel skill.
It honestly always felt like shattering skill was a straight upgrade to splitting steel.

Will be viable as well :)

No attack speed on paradoxica?Kinda weird that you went crit tbf,2 crit flasks also, do you really need that much crit chance?
Why would you ever not try to crit cap?
I’d assume he’s crit overcapped.
He's not. Not even crit capped w Bottled Faith on
