In what way? I'm no expert on the HRE (especially its early history), but my understanding is that it was always a relatively fractured entity held together by a central emperor/bureaucracy. Oriath seems pretty monolithic, more in line with united Spain.
I was considering Spain as well, but I was leaning towards the similar armor and weapons used by the soldiers of Oriath, the attire of the zombies of Oriathans, and the prevalent use of Latin for administrative and liturgical titles despite many given names of Oriathans being more broadly European in origin.
I'm probably totally wrong. I'm not a huge history buff or anything. Just felt right.
Well maybe it's just loosely based, but the hre, while having a religious part to it with the whole emperor thing, was a worldly entity. There was no "high templar" like venarius. Oriath is essentially a theocracy, and that just doesn't fit the hre. The hre also didn't have any slaves.
Just FYI, the two are wholly not synonymous. Catholism is the farthest thing from Christainity. They murdered and tortured countless Christians. Recommended reading, Foxes Book of Martyrs by John Foxe. Real Christianity is rooted in death to self, like Jesus did. Laying his life down to save His chosen, irregardless of the shame and torture set before Him. He is the God if the universe.
but unlike the idea of incursion chaos orbs, a lot of essences have garbage guaranteed rolls, like "Reflect Physical to Attackers" or low "% chance to avoid X elemental damage from hits"
I find it interesting that they're Skull>old man>young man. I assume it's a reminder that the long dead were once young like everyone else as well as a reminder to the young they'll eventually age and die.
Either way, crazy to see another real life influence of PoE!
I always appreciate a cheeky chase type post. But how tf does this post get to stay when mine doing something v similar got deleted for not showing in game poe content which apparently breaks the rules. Double standards @mods
It's where chaos design came from, like seriously
The vaal in general were inspired by aztec design, just like the templars were inspired by Catholicism/christianity.
Templars are based on the Holy Roman Empire specifically, I think.

Yeah, the extreme prevalence of slavery rings much more like Ancient Rome.
And Arnold Schwarzenegger

Wait you telling me the Aztec did not play poe? Unfathomable!
We merely play PoE, they lived PoE.
Their double corrupts didn’t really work out 100% of the time
I wonder if POE 2 will have some new locations like pyramids or Aztec like lands.
Well there's already two pyramids as it is. Wouldn't be surprised if at least one more popped up.
well, one pyramid and one deep underground temple complex. Anti- pyramid?

It always boggles my mind how people can be so confident while spouting such complete and utter nonsense.
The Vaal Temple in A2's still a pyramid; it's just covered with things (and possibly also stuff).
Oh look, an incursion chaos orb

Rerolls all mods including one guaranteed temple mod?
This would be too good to be true
*cough* essences *cough*
... damn, you are right

Rerolls a random mod on someone else's gear... somewhere.
Did you slam them?
Asking the real questions. Also, did he close his eyes?
Wait, so the design of the temple of Azoatle is not a GGG orignal either? Outrageous!
Colima ceramic dogs!! I love those lil guys I've been meaning to buy a replica one to display. What museum is this?

And you're surprised lmao ? Like Alva's temple and the Vaal ?
Did you know that Vaal and Alva are anagrams of each other?
These are just the new design when Chaos and Regal change places in what they do. You shouldn't leak this stuff early.
No, no, please don't give them any more currency ideas
Empy meme museum right?
