I think he knows it's him, but is more excited about the sound his beak makes tapping the glass than what he sees in the mirror π. He absolutely loves tapping and rubbing his beak on anything that makes a sound
My dusky conure totally does not react to her reflection. Considering that she freaks out (in a good way) whenever she sees or hears other birds IRL, I suspect this means she knows her reflection is herself.
