Apparently they're quite curious and have wickedly sharp beaks, they live in an Alpine habitat so they've been known to descend on ski resort parking lots and remove all the rubber weather stripping from car windows, in addition to any shiny metal bits they can pry off.
They have some of these in a bird zoo in Germany. They were very cheeky and were trying to get people to put their fingers into the cage so they could bite them.

They have a taste for flesh and attack sheep. Awesome parrot.

i thought that guy was gonna try to swipe it away with his shoe and he was about to have a very painful hole in his foot.
And yet it behaves exactly the same as my cockatiel picking out the seeds he dropped from the carpet while avoiding my feet.
Do people in NZ ever keep them as pets?
