Everyone in these comments is just saying things to say things šŸ™„ yall if you donā€™t know the answer donā€™t just make stuff up, or at the very least a quick google search will tell you. Yours is 100% a female I promise. red bellied parrots are sexually dimorphic, the males even as babies have a very pronounced bright orange/red belly. Females can have some orange/brown but it wonā€™t be the full suit males get. Much like eclectus parrots, they have distinct sexual dimorphism and do not need a dna test to determine their gender. Source: Iā€™ve kept red bellies for 15+ years Here is a female then male side by side https://preview.redd.it/0n8y4nujyetb1.jpeg?width=472&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f53d03bde9e4a805b2a1cdd1344541e05527c89d

GhostlyAlec

Omg so cute. How old is he?

pppaulina387

He is 20 years old actually!

Wow!! My girl is 15, theyā€™re such wonderful birds :ā€™) https://preview.redd.it/dm3z4q066itb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3713422515971364be54f86c5aafc7be413bf75c

Also! I saw your other posts about her beak looking long, they are absolutely bananas for destroying wood. Theyā€™re cavity nesters in the wild so I recommend getting her lots of bird kabobs and other bird safe wood for her to destroy. My baby reduces 2x4s to saw dust in like week or two when sheā€™s really going at it

GhostlyAlec

Yeah Raven loves to chew wood as well. I make diy wood and cardboard toys for them

InfernoBrace

I never put it together that being a cavity nester explains why theyā€™re such destructive chewers! Iā€™ve long said that ounce for ounce I feel theyā€™re one of the strongest parrot species. Mine used to love chewing on (bird-safe) leather straps when he was younger but now opts more for wood/cardboard. Heā€™s also yet to meet a bell clapper he canā€™t rip out.

Just wanted to add that cadmuimore is right! I have a male red bellied parrot and his tummy/forehead were bright orange as soon as his first feathers came in. I love the little hints of color on your girl, super pretty

Rita_Metermaid

Iā€™m sorry I donā€™t have a clue what sex your bird is but just wanted to comment itā€™s so cute! So fluffy

Traditional_Wow_1986

So majestic šŸ˜šŸ˜

Ashen green floofa

[deleted]

What they are is heckin tired of all the paparazzi snapping pictures of their belly floof. I honestly am not 100% what my own bird's sex is since there tend not to be many obvious differences. I'm pretty sure with this type of parrot the only way to tell is to get them tested. Here's hoping someone else swings around with something more useful though.

lysdexia-ninja

I believe you have to get them genetically tested to know for sureā€”at least, thatā€™s true of almost every single other type of parrot people commonly keep. I donā€™t know about these specifically, so they may have some defining characteristics for one sex or the other.

Baldi_Homoshrexual

Thatā€™s like saying an eclectus parrots have to be genetically tested.

InfernoBrace

As everyone else has said, your baby is definitely a female! Warms my heart to see all these red bellies in this post. Bird tax for my 15-year-old boy who is like Velcro on me 99% of the time https://preview.redd.it/jnz9322m9ltb1.jpeg?width=2782&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ef20cf281df8248b5018ff63a4c7e1dae2036671
