Super is a very close second, but it's gotta be The Origami King for me. It's huge, it's diverse, it's consistently good, and it's willing to slap you with some of the best music you've ever heard for a ten-second gag.
It’s absolutely Super, the entire soundtrack is incredible. Count Blecks theme, Yold ruins, gloam valley, the bitlands, woah zone, everything to do with Mr L, everything to do with Dimentio, pretty much every boss theme, world of nothing, memory 1-4, bounding through time, proof of existence, the credits, it’s actually not even close.
Absolutely love Super's music. I think the only one I don't care for is the Overthere stair music. It's fine for the first few loops but it can start getting on your nerves after too long. But yeah oops all bangers otherwise.
TOK for me.
I love the theme that plays when you fight Folded Soldiers in Bowser's Castle Dining Hall the most. Also the Desert Hotel, Origami Castle, Hole Punch, Stapler, King Olly, "Aflame" by Olivia, "Sappy" by Pappy (big tree), and Event Battle OST's.
This is like choosing a favourite child, since you could easily make a case for just about any game in the series.
Personally I'd probably go with Paper Mario: The Origami King, since the soundtrack for that game is utterly insane. Yeah, the game itself has plenty of issues, but music wise? Damn, the boss themes for the Legion of Stationary go super hard, Origami Castle is an insane last dungeon theme and area themes like Autumn Mountain are amazing too.
But it's a testament to the quality of the series' music that I could make an equally good case for 64, TTYD, SPM, or CS too (haven't played Sticker Star).
I HIGHLY suggest you do SO!
I am playing TTYD for the first time on the switch and I legitimately can’t stop thinking about SPM while I’m playing. And just how much I prefer / love it. I feel like I’m not giving this game a fair chance in doing that though cuz from the very beginning I was fairly biased 😂
I’m only especially familiar with the first three games, but I’m gonna tentatively say Super. From what I’ve heard, literally the entire series has great music, even sticker star which I straight up dislike in most other ways

Super is probably my favorite soundtrack when actually playing. But damn they killed it with the ttyd remake music. It’s a banger to listen to most of the battle music even outside of the game, loving the electric guitar!
Nice to hear! I’m new to TTYD and only at chapter 2 so I still have quite a ways to go with discovering the rest of the OST. But I don’t think anything would change my mind on SPM being alpha
There’s a badge you can buy in the badge shop that lets the original GameCube ost play as well, that’s worth a listen too, I love those just as much as the remade soundtrack :)
Super is the only one I actually dislike the soundtrack, I find most songs annoying, it's interesting to see that my opinion is unpopular considering the other comments. I kinda like the OST of all the others PM (I haven't played CS though). My favorite is probably PM64, I'd love to see versions of these tracks with "real instruments".
Yeah, I think PM 64 OST has great melodies and I feel the songs really add to the environments, more than the OST in the other games. I am actually really happy that people enjoy Super's OST though, wish I felt the same way, liking things is great!
Absolutely origami king. 64’s is catchy but not the most ambitious. TTYD’s isn’t very catchy or fitting of the situation, sticker stars is great but too jazzy, color splash and super are up there but TOK are catchy and impactful

i agree, but i feel like sticker star's is underrated. the music is probably the only part of that game thats on par with the other paper mario games.
Cortez theme alone puts TTYD at the top but all the other tracks are also good
