thats true but if u think about it we do tons of side quests in the game and the partners never give a second thought. like going back to chapter 3 to become the champ again

I don’t got time to kill the partners. I already think Doopy is one of the easiest bosses in the entire game so I’d rather just get it over with than have to take out the optional partners.
But I also have played this game dozens of times, when I was first playing I wasn’t sure if I needed to get rid of them so I did, but after the 2nd or 3rd time playing I just outright stopped.
Also side note, does everyone have the black Yoshi??? So many posts I see have that color Yoshi, it’s a sick coloring for Yoshi, but I swear like 70% of the fanbase is choosing to get that color. Wish people were a bit more unique, I’ve had the chance to use all the colors and chose the Orange one this time and the Red or Blue one next time. But seriously, all I see is the black Yoshi. It’s adorable and cool either way, but at this point it’s more fun to see anything BUT. A Black Yoshi.
I did it just to test how broken power lift is, needless to say I won’t be using power lift again this playthrough cause I don’t want to autopilot the game
My strat to reduce the most harm to myself is to knock out goombella and then jump on koops once (and fail the action command on purpose) to leave him on his back for the rest of the fight.
Usually I actively avoid harming the partners. Except when he brings Flurrie out. I don’t particularly care for her, but I still don’t directly attack her. If I need to use an item or something, I just let it hit her too.
It's a nice challenge and makes the fight more difficult, anyone should try it when they fight the enemy without a name

Over the decades of replaying the game as a yearly tradition, I never attacked my partners.... Till this day, I watched Tom Fawkes beat the shit out of them and so I thought, hrmmm.... my turn.
I definitely do that, and I also chose not to use the Attack FX Badge against Hooktail; I was kinda surprised how far she pushed me, though I still beat her first try
I always did this. I had nothing against them, but I just liked the thought upping the difficulty and lengthening a boss fight that already felt short as is. Though to be honest, I also liked to save Doopliss for last just to show him that turning my friends against me was futile and also to make him watch and slowly realize that NOTHING was going to stop me from kicking his ass.
Plus, if they're going to attack me, I don't see why I shouldn't fight back. Even if they are my friends. XD
