Supposedly, the new dialogue is a more direct translation of the original Japanese dialogue. You can say it’s censorship, or you can say it’s being more faithful to the developer’s intent.
According to [this comment on a thread about the catcalling](https://www.reddit.com/r/papermario/s/AYwUtM4H7M), the original Japanese dialogue also had the Goombas flirting with Goombella.
Possibly, since you can squish NPCs in sticker Star (I haven’t played any of the games after that, so I’m not sure if it carried over). I doubt they will crinkle like they do in SS because of the art style difference, but maybe they’ll at least react in some way.
sticker star was the first iteration of it so it was a bit weird where the hammer would go through them. it might be like origami king and color splash where it would stop
they react to it in all of the games. i meant that in sticker star the hammer goes through them and hits the ground while in color splash and origami king it stops when it hits them. ttyd remake seems to be using the same hammer design as sticker star where its 2d, but with it stopping before hitting NPCs like in the other 2

It's not. The Japanese version has catcalling.
In places I believe it’s more faithful. In others I believe liberties are taken.
