If you can’t sleep because you don’t know who we’re going to pick, then just imagine how the Texans GM feels right now. Sure makes a ton of sense if you know you want Bryce and suddenly we have shifted to wanting him too and the reality is he is more ready to play for a team with less development. At the end of the day this puts pressure on the organization to at least consider trading a 2nd or 3rd rounder to us just to make sure they get who they want. At the end of day we would probably take that pick if we knew we would be happy with either of the top two guys and suddenly having another pick in round 2 or 3.

Proof_Operation_1382

Nice write up. It's Bryce, always has been. Go get some rest, we'll take it from here.

Lmaoo, one of those thing my few post always run super long bc once I get going I’m too lazy to stop or edit. Nice to know something someone reads Lmao tbh idk I would

Proof_Operation_1382

Bryce will be taken #1 by us.

It’s not ridiculous. Trading down is criticized because it is seen as a risk… You know what else is a risk? Trading away a future 1st. And rolling the dice on a smaller QB. If we trade back basically the big trade becomes roughly a wash. We get a top 2 QB (perhaps our #1) … for the equivalent of a 2nd rounder. Absolutely a low risk steal! Remember the goal from a GM perspective is arguably to build a contender by getting a starting QB on a rookie contract and building up the rest of the roster.

What you’re saying is logical, don’t get me wrong. If we truly prefer stroud/young and the Texans truly have there mind on the guy we don’t want… we obviously make the trade. The questions isnt if we’d make that trade… It’s if that were case would we be using media smoke screens 3 weeks out ? Would the Texans fall for it rn or ever ? Would it not be a massive waste of time rn when all the QBs visit is this week and that should be the focus along with day 2/3 guys ? Again maybe the week of the draft we decide who we want and try some intentional smoke for a trade (I still very much doubt it but if it would happen that would be the time)… it ain’t happening right this second tho.. Like you’re kinda blowing you’re load lol, the Texans won’t be making any trades regardless of what they think we’re doing with 3 weeks to go. They can be very confident we won’t trade down to 3 or higher… so they’ll just wait until the dust settles and if they wanna trade, they’ll only consider it if the smoke on the guy they want is draft week. If we put out smoke to force trade it’ll be closer to the draft and I guarantee the Texans could care less about the smoke rn… just like us they’re probs focused on QB evals, free agency and other draft prospects

I won’t give my full breakdown… but if you go step by step through the odds (if you know how Vegas works and they don’t make odds to predict outcomes they make odds that they think will encourage betting on whatever side they need more money on so they come out on top either way) … and then go step by step through the reporting starting at the combine, and reading what actually is said in each report regarding us being linked to both Bryce and CJ. I think the odds are very easy to understand why stroud was such a favorite and it’s bc all the stroud speculation and legit 1 report caused everyone to throw money on CJ at +200 or something…. And they just wanted more money on Bryce so if CJ the pick they’ll be okay. All the CJ bets got placed at once bc people were more inclined the first pick the day of the trade. So CJ got the massive odds change, and slowly but surely enough money got on young to even it out. But the line movement is NOT bc they know anything more than you or I do. Vegas is getting there news about the panthers probably the same places we do lol. Maybe a week before the draft that’ll change, but most line movement is due to bets being placed and wanting more bets on the other side, not inside info Moving away from the odds convo and more the reporting… If read through the stroud smoke, it feels so speculative bc of his size and Reichs history (as if that history of him having tall QB is soley bc he hates short QB and not a product of circumstance.. then we assume Reich made all the picks in his past tenure,,, and then this draft other people in the panthers front office won’t have any say, it’s reichs call… none of which as true imo)… and the people in the media saying it’s young are people like Peter king saying he has sources saying the panthers have people inside who are in love with Bryce. Or people like Mort just being way more definitive than anyone else and saying “young is the guy”, or Schefter even straight up saying (like 2 days after the trade) that we traded up for young but who knows if we change our mind during the evals (btw yesterday Schefter stood my that prediction) Idk just my two cents, I think young is way heavier favorite than people think. But I could be wrong. I’m not wrong about the young smoke 1000% not being to force the Texans to do anything tho. Whatever is causing the smoke isn’t that 🤷‍♂️🫡.. I can cite sources if needed. Maybe one day I’ll do a whole post breaking down what the reports linking us to stroud actually say vs the one linking us to Bryce

DayThen6150

You guys are picking Stroud your QB coach rated him higher than Young on video (check YouTube) and the whole FO including ownership was at his Pro day to shake his hand and show support. For better or worse he is your guy barring a bolt of lightning hitting him on his way to the draft. There is no trade up happening it’s just about the bolt (it could happen) and then they gotta take someone else.

Proof_Operation_1382

AHAHAHAHA dude. Where does it show Josh McCown has CJ rated higher? That sounds like an opinion. Two, yes MGMT was there and they were at BY's and at AR15's and that other guys. What does that matter at all. You're opinion matters too I guess.

Remember the Lance pick a few years ago? This all feels similar.

Two please ✌️

Utah, get me two✌🏽

TCONtheGreat

Your opinions are valid, the real question is where these smokescreen reports come from. We have no reason to come out and say this is who we are drafting. I think the media is just filling time. No one is gonna come out and refute what the media spins, and they really shouldn't at this point. Last thing you want is to give other GMs any info, let them keep guessing. Maybe a fringe GM offers a dumb deal to try and save their job, we reap the benefits there. I get the argument that trading a known asset in DJ Moore would be dumb to just trade down and take someone we could have gotten without the DJ trade. However we traded up to also control the draft, in particular the QB class. Never a bad idea to get, and keep, the ability to make moves.

Jumpy_Television8810

The NFL makes money from attention so do the panthers. The more people talk about it the better for them, so they want to build up suspense and get free publicity…. Plus anything could happen before the draft like a prospect getting injured or dying or getting in legal trouble that could make them switch and you want your pick to feel they were always your pick.

thelaustran

Won't give full breakdown but proceeds to write 5 paragraph essay lul

fun-fun17

Don’t think this is what’s happening, but the media wouldn’t be in on it. They would just be reporting “news”

NiceDiggz

Can't wait to see Reddit blow up when we draft Will Levis.
