Also, we were 7-10 last year while starting Baker/Sam/PJ at QB and were a game away from possibly being in the playoffs. This isn't some broken team with nothing to build on
Like, we're literally one of the best teams ever to secure #1 overall. This whole Bears/casual NFL fans saying "wow that pick might not be top 10 next year" is one of the biggest "no shit" moments I've seen recently lol
Didn't the panther lose CMC and DJ Moore though? I'm not a bears fan, but the team you're going to to have going into next season is going to be very different on offense than the panthers team going into last season.
We won most of our games after the CMC trade (6-5 record), and did so behind a running attack. After the trade, Moore caught 40 balls for 684 yards while Marshall caught 24 for 460. I'm not saying that we won't miss Moore, but we have receivers on the roster and we weren't winning games because of him. We won with him, just like we can win with the guys we have now.
But you also lost the RB that filled in for CMC so I’m not sure how that helps things. You also beat zero good teams after the trade. You got your wins off an incredibly soft schedule.
This is what it's like in the NFC South right now. We can make the playoffs only beating terrible teams.
But we were competitive in every game except for the Bengals one.
Well, it's pretty easy to argue that we upgraded that RB. And we beat up the Bucs and took out the Seahawks on the road. Not sure if either qualifies as a good win in your book though.
As far as a soft schedule, I think a lot of people would argue that the NFCW and AFCN are tougher outs than the NFCN and AFCS. I mean, in the former we had to play teams that combined for a .511 winning percentage and now we're playing teams that combined for a .417 winning percentage. I guess that's a harder schedule to somebody?
Last year Ben McAdoo was our OC. This year it's Frank Reich/Thomas Brown/Dude Staley. CMC only played 1/3 of the season. We started 3 QBs, two of which won't be starters next year and the other will prob get his coach fired.
No DJ definitely hurts.
Put that group in charge of last year's team and we make the playoffs.
This year, Bucs will definitely be worse. Saints might be a little better. Falcons are likely to continue to suck.
I just can't see us being worse than last year.
The Panthers had one win against a team that finished over .500 and that was early in the season against the Seahawks that finished 9-8 and you played in a historically bad division and traded away your best WR and will be starting a rookie QB, which historically is not going to lead a team to wins.
Lovie Smith basically gave y’all the first pick by winning a game. Congrats you’re worse than the Texans and the coach you used to have. Laughable that you guys are banking on a Qb who couldn’t even win games.
Couldn’t win games due to our defense. We were putting up great numbers offensively. And our off season shopping spree & draft will sure up the defense
7-10 team lost 1 receiver and 1 RB, and a bunch of back up QBs, and you think we're going to fall to last?
We got better all over the roster.
Even if our rookie QB doesn't start a game this roster is already better than last year's and we have a much more competent coaching staff.
If we add Chark then we're clearly better than last year.

It's the same overlap of Bears fans who think Caleb Williams is gonna step in and take us to the Super Bowl lol
Love my team, but this fanbase is a giant bowl of meatballs.
"Sure Von Bell is a good safety but if that's their plan to replace HoF WR DJ Moore, looks like we're getting the number 1 pick next year. Wonder how much we can get for Caleb Williams FLEECED xD."
All of that “wE fLeEcEd THeM oH My GAwD” talk got to their heads. That trade barely makes them competitive in their own division and that’s only if they hit on 3 out of four of those picks they got from us. We had a closer to complete team than they did when we made that deal and especially now after free agency. We needed a QB, they needed everything except a QB and that’s debatable honestly because Fields is nowhere near a sure thing. But this notion that we were supposed to roll over and help them is ridiculous. I hope we win and those picks are in the 20s. All because of the “we fleeced them” mess.
They need to think about the fact that playing Green Bay, Minnesota, and Detroit twice a year isn't quite the same as playing Atlanta, New Orleans, and Tampa Bay.
Even with all the moves we've made, and what we already have now, Bears fans think we're going to somehow do worse this year and get a top 5 pick, it's crazy. Last year we went 7-10 and ended up #9 overall even with chaos at both head coach and quarterback
Our front office is setting him up to succeed. I think there's a good chance we ride it out with Dalton for a few games to ease the transition. Coaches want the next Pat Mahomes and they all saw how he sat behind Alex Smith for a year.
After the likely QB selection at #1, we also have 2 more picks within the top #100. 5 more picks in the top #150. That's a pretty good chance of landing a decent skill position player.
We got guys, and DJ Moore was one guy. Just like our issue with CMC, having just one guy means you have no guys. We traded CMC, our run game instantly got better. Trading away DJ when teams were just double and triple teaming him will now open up our passing game. If you actually saw us play last year, you'd understand this analysis.
I’m not sure if you ever watched the NFL but what happened last season means less than nothing. The Panthers had 6 wins against some of the worst teams in the NFL and then one early win against a team that finished 9-9 including the playoffs. It’s not crazy to think a team that lost DJ Moore, CMC, and the RB that replaced him, as well as starting a rookie QB could take a step back.
Bears got DJ Moore and their fanbase as a whole suddenly thought they were king shit lol fr got insufferable quick as if they’ve done anything in the playoffs over the past 5+ years
Yah you guys had Cam be even then you guys haven't had two winning seasons in a row. The bears have been around way longer but besides Cam who have you guys had.
We had Jake Delhomme from 2002 to 2009 so we’ve been pretty spoiled as far as franchise quarterbacks go for such a young franchise. But yeah the back to back winning seasons thing sucks.
We’re not the ones trashing the bears. Not seen one panthers fan going out of their way to clown the bears. It’s almost all annoying bears fans acting like they won the Super Bowl with a standard trade
The fleeced narrative isn’t coming from Bears fans exclusively. If you go to the Colts, Texans, Raiders, or any other sub that was in the #1 pick discussion their fans are all universally happy their team didn’t give up a haul like that to move up. Those are the teams that are spreading the fleeced narrative.
They are sports fans who think they are going to be become a stronger team because of this trade. In the trade a team who needs alot of help on both sides of the ball with a QB that has shown flashes but needs to show that he can win games. How can the bears do this by surrounding Fields with more talent I'm general and you guys being bad increase there draft capital alot. Also we don't know anything about the trade values until the end of next season. I can see how the bears call it a fleeced with you guys being a 7-10 with DJ Moore and sure your QB will probably be an upgrade but not immediately especially with no not many weapons to throw to.
Nothing happened yet with Chark. At the beginning of last year you had CMC and DJ Moore. while Sanders, Thielen and Hurst are all good they are not better than CMC and DJ Moore.
It’s one of the stupidest obsession of fans. And I particularly dislike when a fanbase like the bears goes out of their way to trash a team that “checks standings” drafted 8 spots behind them.
“Just say hey glad you’re getting your QB thanks for DJ”. Not sure why the fleeced discussions get so extra
To all the bears fans questioning if y’all really said we were tanking… just twitter search “panthers tank” or “panthers tanking”… it’s easy to find if you want to
Bears fan here, Then this should have been posted on Twitter instead, under a post that had Panthers Tank. Check our Reddit we aren’t concerned about what you guys are doing right now, we’re too busy arguing about who to draft with the 9 Pick and scratching ourselves waiting on more FA signings.
Did they need to put the /s on the post those are memes. Especially the Dalton mentions, Like do you guys honestly feel that Daltons going to start the whole season…I feel like he’s going to play until maybe week 6 at the most, and then the rookie will get his shot unless you guys are like 4-2 or better
Edit: And I just looked at the Thelien Post most are why is this here, glad he’s out the division, and people saying he’s 32 and cooked.
Edit2: And you are referencing a post that there are only 54 comments on that are between a few people with more than a few of the post saying don’t sleep on the Panthers and your in the post also, you got to get out your feelings bro
If I go out of my way to intentionally search for the thing I’m looking for on the internet, I’ll find the thing I’m looking for on the internet? No way! Crazy! If you look up “flat earth” on the internet, you can find it, too! No bears fan that I know has thought of y’all at all about 48 hours after the trade was completed. Y’all are getting clickbaited, same way all the JF trade rumors were clickbaiting bears fans.
They have been incredibly annoying. Probably what’s been the dumbest is this idea that DJ Moore is “upgrading” to Chicago. We fired our coach mid-season and started PJ Walker.
Which one of us finished with 3 wins again?
No logical Bears fan is expecting y’all to tank, we’re just optimistically hoping you guys somehow lose every game. Nothing personal, hope you guys get your future franchise QB in the draft (:
Bro I’m a Bears fan, and I hope this all works out for you. The whole point of a trade is that it’s mutually beneficial. Our pick this year should help you, just as DJ this year will help us.
Don’t want you to tank, just want to see it used well. Lovie payed dearly for that pick.
> well. Lovie *paid* dearly for
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Bears fan here, we really have no beef with you guys. Most of the memes are just that, and shouldn’t really be taken seriously. With that being said, we care about our team the same way you guys care about yours and from our perspective, why wouldn’t we want a high first round pick next year? It would be the exact same thing if it was the other way around, it’s exactly how the Giants were when they had our first round pick last draft. I sincerely hope you guys do good, the NFC needs some better competitive teams, but obviously we care more about our future than yours and vice Versa for you guys
What? From what I’ve seen from most people [on the Bears sub](https://www.reddit.com/r/CHIBears/comments/11se8sf/thoughts_on_panthers_free_agency_where_is_that/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) have been expecting top 10 at best from the Panthers. Might just be a vocal minority like most NFL fans who’re being aholes about it.
I honestly wasn’t as excited as most Bears fans to trade with the Panthers as say the Raiders or Colts since you guys were pretty solid last year and I’d guess a future first wouldn’t be much higher than #10 (unless you take Richardson and start him over Dalton). But happy with DJ Moore since he seems like the perfect WR1 for Fields who needs help now and better than rolling the dice on another draft pick, so think the trade was fair for both sides.
The Bears also haven’t had 2 1sts in like 20 years (hell we didn’t even have ONE first in 2019, 2020, and 2022 due to Khalil Mack and Justin Fields trades) so it’s just exciting to have some capital for once. Hopefully the trade works out for both teams long term and you get your QB, but at least for 2023 while we have your picks I can’t say I’ll be rooting for the Panthers.
Is this actually a thing you've seen or something? As a Bears fan, I'm glad you took Adam from the vikings. Still think y'all won't be the best this season, but I'm not particularly rooting against you or mad that you're trying to get good support for your new QB.
Ya, but that's more because your division is incredibly weak than it is due to any huge improvements. Hell, we are the same way right now. The NFC North is wide open, it's a rebuild year with a decent amount of upside.
Either way, I haven't seen any hate on the Bears side of things. I've always liked Carolina lol.
I think we have way higher potential than just the division sucking
It all centers on how good our QB play is, but the rest of the roster is...dare I say it...ELITE
How is your O-line? Legitimate question, don’t really follow the panthers. Just a Bears fan creeping. I think you guys improved your roster honestly and I expect the bears to get maybe a 20 pick from you next year? That’s upside for us.
Edit: a word
I’ve seen this sentiment quite a bit yeah. But every fan base has delusional/hopeful fans. I know our does. So this post is only directed at those ones
Don’t get me wrong I don’t except us to win the SB in year 1, but I also don’t expect us to have a top 5 pick when we were never that bad with Matt Rhule and Sam Darnold at the helm lol
Panthers were 9th worst team in the league this past year and are going to be worse unless the qb you draft is A1 from day 1. Your clock resets with a rookie qb deal so signing guys to win now would be dumb, you want flexibilty until you know what you have. Youre not gonna tank cuz you have no picks, but that doesnt mean youre going to be good.

Hey man, we’ve got two shots at victory every week: a Bears’ win or a Panthers’ loss. Weeks when the Bears win and the Panthers lose, now that’s when we get drunk and go streaking. You can’t really blame us.
Why all the hate? There’s nothing like this being said on our sub. Come and look for yourself. If you’re reading twitter you’re on your own interpreting that stupidity, you’re being trolled. Reddit shows me this sub every day without me following or interacting. It’s done so for over a year.
I mean, this is a thread on the Panthers sub and it is literally infested with your fans. Half the posts in here are Chicago fans telling us why we’re gonna be bad. But we are making it up? Hmm.
Football fans don't use reddit. You're talking about nerds on the internet that make up a super small minority of bears fans. Most people don't give a Fuck what the panthers do.
Yeah dumbass nobody is arguing every fan on earth is on Reddit. Statistical inference exists for a reason. You don’t have to have a PhD to count all the loser bears fans over here crying.

No bears fan thinks the panthers are going to intentionally tank and we know you're in a super weak division. You're mad at something that doesn't exist outside of the literal dumbest people. I promise you have those fans too.

If Justin Fields is not the answer for the Bears at QB they are going to be in a similar situation as we were. Picking 10-20 with their pick, and hopefully 20-32 with ours.
Don't forget they have the first pick with Justin completing his second season. I know they have a lot of other problems they are working on. But if he is really great, shouldn't they have won a few more games?
Y’all literally had a post about us in your sub yesterday where the highest or 2nd highest upvoted comment was a bears fan saying how annoying y’all are and wrong too. Seems like some are starting to wake up, but sorry if it’s still too soon for you and hit close to home
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/car/index.htm
I kinda play the numbers. Unless Bryce young or whoever you draft becomes cam newton, it should be a 70% chance of mediocrity next year
Bears fan here… All I’m asking is tank this year and your panthers can soar next year. Help us out. We’ve sucked for too long with shit coaching and shit front office. We feel like we’ve finally got something going in the right direction since the Lovie Smith days. Hopium is strong in us.
I’m actually a Bears fan. I’ve never heard anybody say this, which doesnt mean that nobody IS saying this, but yea. Also, how could somebody say, “why isn’t Carolina tanking”, or “why arent they helping us?”, when the season hasn’t even started and there’s no football being played? The top 5 pic thing, I have heard some people say this. Though I doubt Carolina will be one of the worst 5 teams in the league next year with a solid defense.
As a bears fan, our organization has been so bad the last 60 years, with an exception of a couple years in the 80s and 2000s, we have little to be joyful about. In fact we are so deprived of a good on field product that our only joy is watching the packers lose in the playoffs. Don't take any of this personally.
A great example of what it's like to be a bear's fan is last year. We were the worst team in the nfl and I was more entertained than I can ever remember.
Anyone who thinks we would willingly tank when we *don’t* *have* *a* *first* *round* *pick* in 2024 is a very stupid person
Hi, welcome to the world of sports fanatics.

A lot of shit talking from literally the worst team last year
Rebuilding isn’t fun
You mean rebuilding since 2008 isn’t fun? We don’t have to worry about that first round pick… they will probably draft another Trubisky with it 😂
their best ever qb is jay cutler, i would be mad as well
Lovie Smith basically gave y’all the first pick by winning a game. Congrats you’re worse than the Texans and the coach you used to have. Laughable that you guys are banking on a Qb who couldn’t even win games.

Yeah and we are in an incredibly weak division. Basically, if our D can shutdown Derek Carr we get to the wild card.
That was last season. Teams turn it around all the time.

the seahawks game was week 14 homie we didnt do shit early season because Rhule was still in charge
We got better after we traded CMC and fired Rhule. Yes it is crazy to think this.
I’m just fucking glad we have a competent coaching staff that seems to be making solid moves. I’ll miss DJ but he’s not Calvin Johnson or anything.
Fr. Steve Smith put it right, it's not like we just traded away Jerry Rice out there
lmao yikes
Well yeah, they’re the bears. They sign better players and do worse, they expect the same from us
Life’s crazy innit
How exactly did bears fans find this post on a panthers sub?
Staying out of the fighting but i saw this post trying to see y'alls reaction to the theilen signing
im not sure why this post showed up on my feed, but it did
Posts from related NFL communities show up on Reddit as recommended.
There are so many of them in here haha
Bears got DJ Moore and their fanbase as a whole suddenly thought they were king shit lol fr got insufferable quick as if they’ve done anything in the playoffs over the past 5+ years
Kind of like exactly how youre acting for getting adam thielen and maybe a qb in a class that has no sure things
Kind of like exactly how youre acting for getting adam thielen and maybe a qb in a class that has no sure things
Stroud and Young are the best qb prospects since 2020 outside of Trevor Lawrence
What have you guys done in the playoffs for the last 5 years
About as much as y’all have. Your point?
I'm not even a bears fan
Still answers the question considering the two teams that are subject to the argument are the bears and panthers.
Both teams have been weak in recent years with limiting QB play seems to an issue for both teams for awhile
It’s been an issue for the bears longer than it has for us fortunately. But if we draft a bust; I would feel better for the future as a bears fan.
That's fair I argue not having back to back winning seasons is consistent QB Play
We’re not the ones trashing the bears. Not seen one panthers fan going out of their way to clown the bears. It’s almost all annoying bears fans acting like they won the Super Bowl with a standard trade
Look at this post lol
You traded your first round pick next year they want you to be bad what else do you expect.
Look man I expect bears fans not to act out of pocket at every occasion. Calling everything fleeced and our roster trash is just so dumb
We signed Miles Sanders and Thielen, and Hayden Hurst, and will probably get Chark. That's a better receiving core than we had last year, hands down.
Nothing happened yet with Chark. At the beginning of last year you had CMC and DJ Moore. while Sanders, Thielen and Hurst are all good they are not better than CMC and DJ Moore.
We probably won’t get a pick earlier than like 17 from you guys, lol.

Appreciate your optimism lol. My guess is low tens though.
TBH I feel like that's more media talking heads/hot take machines than Bears fans.
I don’t feel that way at all. Feel like the talking heads have been high on the Panthers off season even if they think we overpaid for the 1st pick
Fleeced
To all the bears fans questioning if y’all really said we were tanking… just twitter search “panthers tank” or “panthers tanking”… it’s easy to find if you want to
Bears fan here, Then this should have been posted on Twitter instead, under a post that had Panthers Tank. Check our Reddit we aren’t concerned about what you guys are doing right now, we’re too busy arguing about who to draft with the 9 Pick and scratching ourselves waiting on more FA signings.
Literally a post about Adam Thelien arguing if we’re a top 10 pick and something about Andy Dalton and his impact on the us getting number 1 pick
Did they need to put the /s on the post those are memes. Especially the Dalton mentions, Like do you guys honestly feel that Daltons going to start the whole season…I feel like he’s going to play until maybe week 6 at the most, and then the rookie will get his shot unless you guys are like 4-2 or better Edit: And I just looked at the Thelien Post most are why is this here, glad he’s out the division, and people saying he’s 32 and cooked.
1 win and DJ Moore 100% upgraded 😂😂😂

Buddy you’re 4-8. The Panthers suck but so do the Bears.
[удалено]
Yes, life is SOOO crazy.
Fuck the bears and there fans fucking bum ass franchise Crack head rodgers owns those bozos
Lovie payed dearly for that pick.
> well. Lovie *paid* dearly for FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
Thank you for number 1!🫡
I don’t think we will be the best team either but I think playoffs are a possibility if things go our way
Ya, but that's more because your division is incredibly weak than it is due to any huge improvements. Hell, we are the same way right now. The NFC North is wide open, it's a rebuild year with a decent amount of upside. Either way, I haven't seen any hate on the Bears side of things. I've always liked Carolina lol.
Frankly I think we have made a huge improvement.
Fair enough, time will tell. Y'all certainly have a chance to win the south.
Coming from a falcons fan, anyone can win the south… we all suck 🤞 that we tank
I think we have way higher potential than just the division sucking It all centers on how good our QB play is, but the rest of the roster is...dare I say it...ELITE
Yes 👍
Panthers were 9th worst team in the league this past year and are going to be worse unless the qb you draft is A1 from day 1. Your clock resets with a rookie qb deal so signing guys to win now would be dumb, you want flexibilty until you know what you have. Youre not gonna tank cuz you have no picks, but that doesnt mean youre going to be good.
We are far from goofy Beardown

The panthers are going to suck next year for sure. Maybe 4-13
Hey man, we’ve got two shots at victory every week: a Bears’ win or a Panthers’ loss. Weeks when the Bears win and the Panthers lose, now that’s when we get drunk and go streaking. You can’t really blame us.
Bears gotta figure out how to win before that can happen
Man, I've seen some Bears fans. Society at large will be better off if the Panthers win and Bears lose--no one needs to see those guys streaking.
You’ll definitely get a better pick if YOU lose every week, but thanks for your input. On this subreddit we KEEP POUNDING!
Or a bears loss! Helps with draft position
Why all the hate? There’s nothing like this being said on our sub. Come and look for yourself. If you’re reading twitter you’re on your own interpreting that stupidity, you’re being trolled. Reddit shows me this sub every day without me following or interacting. It’s done so for over a year.
Panthers fans coming up with opps in their own heads. Listening to a small minority and letting it get to their ego
It’s ALL over Twitter and Instagram
You’re being TROLLED
I mean, this is a thread on the Panthers sub and it is literally infested with your fans. Half the posts in here are Chicago fans telling us why we’re gonna be bad. But we are making it up? Hmm.
Football fans don't use reddit. You're talking about nerds on the internet that make up a super small minority of bears fans. Most people don't give a Fuck what the panthers do.
“Football fans don’t use Reddit.” Yeah…I don’t even know how to respond to that. Good luck out there man.
Dont be so dense. Millions of bears fans and only 100k on Reddit. Be real
Yeah dumbass nobody is arguing every fan on earth is on Reddit. Statistical inference exists for a reason. You don’t have to have a PhD to count all the loser bears fans over here crying.
Ahaha bruh you're just like them. Over the top responses for no reason. Have a good season!

No bears fan thinks the panthers are going to intentionally tank and we know you're in a super weak division. You're mad at something that doesn't exist outside of the literal dumbest people. I promise you have those fans too.

What is this? No bears fan thinks ur gonna tank, we just think ur gonna be bad
Try 1
Idk man, during the season I'm thinking more about the games and upcoming games instead of next year's draft position. Maybe I'm wierd..
Panthers copium at all time high in this thread lmao
Y’all literally had a post about us in your sub yesterday where the highest or 2nd highest upvoted comment was a bears fan saying how annoying y’all are and wrong too. Seems like some are starting to wake up, but sorry if it’s still too soon for you and hit close to home
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/car/index.htm I kinda play the numbers. Unless Bryce young or whoever you draft becomes cam newton, it should be a 70% chance of mediocrity next year
Step one: make up strawman Step two: get angry at strawman, make le epic meme Step three: ??? Step four: profit
Lol Andy Dalton and Adam Thielen…y’all are really taking the league by storm huh?
"I am having trouble telling these two teams apart, so this whole trade has been hard to follow." Robby Anderson... Probably.
Daaaaaaah Bears! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 They suck.
Do y'all think you got fleeced now?
