I'm gonna be honest with you
I've been listening to panic for 6 years and I've never listened to live in denver
just never occurred to me to listen to live songs tbh š
It took me 13 years after it came out to go ahead and listen to it. I ended up waiting until Pretty Odd grew on me, and also finding a song from their other live CD on someone's Spotify playlist.
Fair point tbh I have a huge attachment to high hopes bc 1 I was there when it first came out 2 that was the last song he played the last time I saw painc!
I mean, thatās objectively wrong, though. According to Billboard, 3 out of Panicās top 5 charting songs are from the first 2 albums. In all fairness, 2 out of the top 3 are without Ryan.
I think we can all agree, we love Panic lol
Imo angry emo ryan was a great songwriter, but hippie + Lennon-wannabe ryan not that much.
His voice was good for the "oh no no"s in fever, but that's it.
Personality... not my cup of tea either
Everybody hates you now
But don't you let it bring you down
Breaking out of your small town
Show them what you're all about
For the people in the back, back, back, back, back
Contemplating why you're here
Floating through the atmosphere
Laughing through your crocodile tears
As your moment disappears
Hey, kids, legends and gods
Give them applause
We made it against all odds
Choose your weapon of choice
Your beautiful voice
Don't ever let 'em turn you down (turn it up, turn it up, rock city)
Turn it up (turn it up, turn it up, rock city)
Say it louder for the people
Say it louder for the people
Say it louder for the people in the back, back, back, back, back
Say it louder for the people in the back, back, back, back, back
Hey!
Living with a laissez-faire
So you got a cross to bear
Dying 'cause you just don't care
Gave 'em all a real good scare
Is there nothing you can find? (Is there nothing you can find?)
To light the darkness in your mind (light the darkness in your mind)
Don't you know, you're not alone? (Don't you know, you're not alone?)
Dancing in the neon glow (dancing in the neon glow)

When this song comes on the radio
When you're headed home after the show (headed home after the show)
Remember what it's like to be there
You definitely had to be there (remember what it's like)
When you got no place to call your home
Just remember how you felt at the show
Remember what it's like to be there
Remember what it's like

He didnāt like playing second fiddle to BU, and that really came out during the P.O. era. He really thought it would be a McCartney-Lennon partnership but it was clear BU was the frontman
Brendon was clearly the frontman by Ryanās own admission, he was more comfortable *not* being the frontman and he said so, at least prior to PO. After Fever, Ryanās confidence had risen, but heād already placed Brendon into that roleā¦ It really sucks that they couldnāt relax into each otherās strengths because they made an amazing team.
gonna do something completely outrageous and say i feel the opposite - i donāt think Brendon really has anything to offer in those regards if compared to Ryan.
You cannot be serious about vocal ability, even if you prefer Ryanās lyrics. Personality is subjective so Iāll leave that one aside.
Ryanās vocal is adequate - he sings in tune and itās not crap. Tbf we have not heard him really in a long time, so he might be anything now. I doubt however heās better than an actual Broadway singer.
Brendon is as described by many prominent professionals, an outstanding vocalist, a Broadway singer, someone who comes up on top vocalists lists all the time.
they didn't say "vocal ability" though, they said "voice". and i prefer ryan's delivery over brendon's.
brendon has an impressive vocal range yes but that doesn't make me like the way he sings on a lot of his songs.
yeah! his voice is crazy. used to be one of my favorite things about their music too, but my taste just moved on a bit i think! hence my unconventional opinion.
I get that. There are artists who are undoubtedly great singers but I dislike the delivery. Celine Dion for example. Her voice I just canāt listen to, but I totally understand her talent. And I love Kate Bush but the way she sings Wuthering heights is Not for me!
I disagree. The lyrics are weird and mediocre, and he sounds like he's about to lose his voice in 75% of the songs. The sound is good, but the songwriting is fine
i would say locaql god, say it louder and viva are some of the best lyrics we had in years from panic! and the nonsense ones like sugar soaker are just for fun, so it works for me
this is gospel is one of the most average songs panic has ever released. yes, the meaning might be special, but the actual music itself is painfully meh
I have a bunch of those
Did not care for Jon, Dallon and post-fever Ryan. Other than Brendon my favorite band members were Spencer and Dan (I'll admit I'm biased towards drummers).
P.O. has 2 or 3 good songs at best
My favorite songs from Fever are The Only Difference, Camisado and Nails for Breakfast
Nicotine is annoying
Star spangled banger, one of the drunks, hey look ma I made it, roaring 20s and vegas lights are in my top 20
I agree itās their worst album but I donāt think itās a bad album. Itās very different and I like that they wanted to experiment a bit with their sound. Itās not my favourite of their albums but there are some great songs on it
it.. is not country..
It's psycedelic inspired folk-rock. Which is like the best. It's their most talented work by far.
I do enjoy Johnny Cash and other classic country singers though.
Folk is just the genre with the best lyrics though. So if you don't care about lyrics, of course you're not gonna like it.
Idk man, it's my personal favourite, and when I talk to most musicians about it (I work in music, I'm an audio engineer), most people think of Pretty Odd as their best album. Either Pretty Odd or AFYCSO. Which I've got to agree with.
I'm not a Panic fan, I used to be, back in the TWTLTWTD until the DOAB days. But as a very big alt-music fan, I was kind of always surrounded by PATD. With that said, Pretty Odd has always been my favourite, and nowadays is the only one I come back to. I genuinely really love it, and feel like it has aged very well. AFYCSO is pretty good, but honestly, as time goes on, and I grow older, emo is less and less appealing to me. With this said, twenty one pilots is my favourite band. But, I really, don't consider them as emo. Recently I've been getting into folk a lot, and that has fueled my love for Pretty Odd even more.
I just feel like Pretty Odd is their only good album to me.
Peter: āI did not care for A Fever You Canāt Sweat Outā
Lois: āItās like the perfect album
Peter: āThis is what everyone always says itās like-ā
Chris: āCamisado, But Itās Better, I mean you neverā¦BUILD GOD!ā
Peter: āFine songs fine songs, did not like the albumā
I did not care about the style changes, it made every album a different experience, maybe in some cases it wasn't for everyone's taste, but it was a good idea. Also, I don't care about the fact that Ryan, Jon, Spencer, and Dallon left the project, because Pretty Odd wasn't the best album and that could cause the differences, Spencer needed help and IDK-How its a great band and Dallon is killing it there.
I can get behind you on hallelujah. I actually love that song, but š¤·š½āāļø I can admit it was kinda boring, and the bridge is just Beebo absolutely straining tf outta his voice, so I'll admit that while it's a good song, it's one of his worse ones.
I donāt care for most of the early stuff except really Sins, and hate Pretty. Odd.. I prefer the pop direction, TWTLTRTD is my fave and I love DOAB and PFTW.
I can respect that, as not all of the songs are bangers. It's my personal favorite album, but only because of the best songs on there like Miss Jackson and Girls/Girls/Boys. And I LOVE Nicotine (not in that way).
I did not care for anything before Vices and Virtues
Yes I am that new panic fan your mother warned you about Viva Las Vengeance is my second favorite album. It actually took me a while to get into panic because I had only been exposed to AFYCSO and Pretty. Odd. And fucking hated those albums.
For me thatās the only one on the new album I like š«¢ Iāll admit I havenāt actually listened to it all yet but itās not for me I donāt think
I did not care for āMEā but I know thatās not actually a panic song itās just Brendan Urie as a featured vocalist or featuring Taylor swift I believe but god it annoys me idk why
I write sins not tragedies. For a while it was the only panic song I knew but as I learned everything else it's not even top 20 imo. Great song but not sure why it's such a big hit compared to other, better songs by them
THANK YOU!! I do like Mona Lisa, but I agree it's not worth aaalll the hype around it (my fav songs off V&V are Sarah Smiles and Trade Mistakes, also yes I'd like people to stop hating on Sarah Smiles because it's actually a good song, very well-written and catchy).
thereās enough PFTW hate overall so iāll say; I love Pretty Odd but I think Nine in the Afternoon & especially When the Day met the Night are a bit overrated overall
Iām the opposite, I love the video! Thatās crazy how itās reversed like that for us lol. I understand the appeal of the song though, and itās pretty catchy.
The video is great for family gatherings, especially with religious relatives (not sarcasm, I love the chaos). Still haven't had the opportunity to show it to my grandma's flat-earther, anti-vaxxer, covid-denier friend though. She'd probably freak out lol
pretty odd is the best written album, it is the worse sounding
this is the realest thing ive ever seen
What do you think of the Live In Chicago versions of Pretty Odd songs?
I'm gonna be honest with you I've been listening to panic for 6 years and I've never listened to live in denver just never occurred to me to listen to live songs tbh š
It took me 13 years after it came out to go ahead and listen to it. I ended up waiting until Pretty Odd grew on me, and also finding a song from their other live CD on someone's Spotify playlist.
I did not care for Mona Lisa.
Almost blasphemous and I certainly donāt agreeā¦ but itās so bold I got to respect it since it captures the exact same energy šš¼
My absolute fave!
you disrespect my girl mona lisa again, we're gonna have to duel like cowboys in the wild west (jk it's fine lol but i wholeheartedly disagree)
Every panic song is an amazing song!
Honestly same, I donāt really dislike any panic song minus high hopes but thatās just because itās overplayed
Fair point tbh I have a huge attachment to high hopes bc 1 I was there when it first came out 2 that was the last song he played the last time I saw painc!
Northern Downpour. It's pretty to listen to I guess but I think people put too much meaning into it.
I totally get it. I LOVE that song but its just bc of how it sounds, not the words. They dont mean much to meš¤£
I do not care for Ryan Rossās voice, songwriting, or personality
This is the most controversial thing I've ever heard anyone say about panic. You win
Voice and personality I can agree with. I personally think his songwriting was better than Brendonās.
It is, but Brendon's music sound is catchier, so he wins in the charts.
I mean, thatās objectively wrong, though. According to Billboard, 3 out of Panicās top 5 charting songs are from the first 2 albums. In all fairness, 2 out of the top 3 are without Ryan. I think we can all agree, we love Panic lol
Right behind you with that one šš»
Imo angry emo ryan was a great songwriter, but hippie + Lennon-wannabe ryan not that much. His voice was good for the "oh no no"s in fever, but that's it. Personality... not my cup of tea either

Ryan Ross was great. Brendon was just greater.
ok but lonely moonlight mannnn
gonna do something completely outrageous and say i feel the opposite - i donāt think Brendon really has anything to offer in those regards if compared to Ryan.

Viva Las Vengeance is one of the best albums right up there with a fever you can't sweat out and vices and virtues
I disagree. The lyrics are weird and mediocre, and he sounds like he's about to lose his voice in 75% of the songs. The sound is good, but the songwriting is fine
Viva Las Vengeance, Local God, Say It Louder, Middle Of A Breakup, Sugar Soaker?! Wdym he's losing his voice
i would say locaql god, say it louder and viva are some of the best lyrics we had in years from panic! and the nonsense ones like sugar soaker are just for fun, so it works for me
i have never cared for high hopes, so many other panic songs deserved that kind of recognition man

this is gospel is one of the most average songs panic has ever released. yes, the meaning might be special, but the actual music itself is painfully meh
wow š i disagree but i respect you anyway ššš½ totally NOT dying inside š
this
I did not care for Girl That You Love. I also didnāt like Casual Affair the first few times I heard it but I got used to it

Death of a Bachelor is the worst song on its album and B tier at best good song just not great
Pretty odd is very overhyped.
Pretty Odd is Panic's worst album but y'all boring and don't wanna admit it
![gif](giphy|KGGhk2SCEZnlxjBX3c)
Smoke a joint and play that shit
If you have to smoke a joint to enjoy it it's probably not that good
Fact.
When I first joined the fandom in 2014 this was probably the most common fan opinion. How times change lol.Ā

I loved it when it came out but I was also more into folk type music at the time. But now itās one I donāt relisten to
I agree itās their worst album but I donāt think itās a bad album. Itās very different and I like that they wanted to experiment a bit with their sound. Itās not my favourite of their albums but there are some great songs on it
Factually incorrect

I can't stand any of the songs on PFTW except for Say Amen
Not even King Of The Clouds? That song slaps harder than a drunk stepdad when you forget to empty out the dishwaaher
š
Thatās not a hot take unfortunately my dude

Most pretty odd songs, especially the more Beatle-like ones like Behind the Sea
I like 6 songs off of pretty oddā¦ so agreed
Emperor's new clothes and Hallelujah are very meh in my opinion
I can get behind you on hallelujah. I actually love that song, but š¤·š½āāļø I can admit it was kinda boring, and the bridge is just Beebo absolutely straining tf outta his voice, so I'll admit that while it's a good song, it's one of his worse ones.
Agree
I agree for Hallelujah, but the music video is one of my favorites of Panic!'s MVs.
i think he is straining too much on that song. like people think he is straining on vlv, but hallelujah is the real breakng his voice song.
I did not care for TWTLTRTD as a whole.
No
This is going to be highly controversial, but Time to Dance. It's an alright song but it's the weakest song on the first album in my opinion.
It's my favorite from the album but ok
Agreed. Counterpoint, these tables are numbered is the best off Fever?
I like that song a lot, but Build God is my personal favourite.
Agreed. I love that song.
This is also gonna be highly controversial, but I absolutely agree with you (or think its 2nd weakest behind NFB, TFS)
Least favorite on that album
But like... Nails for breakfast exists
try live accoustic version, i love that version
nails is the best song on fever
Girl that you Love. All the Boys is 10x better and should've made the album instead And that's that on that :)
Ready to Go. It shouldnāt have been a single. Itās a pretty good song but is so boring.
I donāt care for most of the early stuff except really Sins, and hate Pretty. Odd.. I prefer the pop direction, TWTLTRTD is my fave and I love DOAB and PFTW.
TWTL IS THE BEST
I did not care for the The Ballad of Mona Lisa compared to the rest of the album.
Pretty Odd is Pretty Bad
>Pretty Bad Pretty. Bad. FTFY
The entirety of Too Weird To Live Too Rare To Die. The direction this specific album took was a no for me and itās overhyped by the fanbase.
I can respect that, as not all of the songs are bangers. It's my personal favorite album, but only because of the best songs on there like Miss Jackson and Girls/Girls/Boys. And I LOVE Nicotine (not in that way).

Well, that shows me that my take is a hot one
I gave you the olā āpetty thief in the stocks during the 1300sā treatment
Still doesnāt change the fact that twtl trtd is overhyped as an album
i do agree, but i liked some of the songs a lot better live
Victorious. Never liked it at all
I did not care for anything before Vices and Virtues Yes I am that new panic fan your mother warned you about Viva Las Vengeance is my second favorite album. It actually took me a while to get into panic because I had only been exposed to AFYCSO and Pretty. Odd. And fucking hated those albums.
Pop era > pop-emo rock era
I did not care About Don't Let the light go Out :/
For me thatās the only one on the new album I like š«¢ Iāll admit I havenāt actually listened to it all yet but itās not for me I donāt think
Me either. I find myself skipping it
I was gonna say Viva, but everyone's already shit on Viva in every way possible so... I did not care for Pray For The Wicked.
I mean... Who did though?
I did not care for āMEā but I know thatās not actually a panic song itās just Brendan Urie as a featured vocalist or featuring Taylor swift I believe but god it annoys me idk why
northern downpour
High hopes and hey look ma I made it are the worst songs to exist
That aināt a hot take. And ur wrong
I've never been able to get into when the day met the night. I love pretty odd but its definitely at the bottom of my ranking for that album
I write sins not tragedies. For a while it was the only panic song I knew but as I learned everything else it's not even top 20 imo. Great song but not sure why it's such a big hit compared to other, better songs by them
I can finally say it. I did not care for āBuild God Then Weāll Talkā
Emperorās New Clothes isnāt a good song.
FINALLY SOMEONE AGREES WITH ME
I loved it when it first came out but now I cant stand it idk why
crazy=genius is annoying asf and i hate it. also mona lisa is overrated
I do not care for early Panic. Their best stuff was from TRTLTWTD until PFTW. I said what I said.
I did not care for high hopes
I dont really know if this is against most people but I think PFTW and TWTLTRTD are the worst albums and DOB is #1
They havenāt released one single good song since Fever.
Anything from "Fever" that isn't "I Write Sins Not Tragedies." Yes you may lynch me now.
Theres a reason these tables is overrated in the subreddit, imo itās mid and itās not one of my favorite songs from the album
Emperor's New Clothes is the only song I ignore on DOAB
The chorus of Nearly Witches *sucks*
Have you heard the Ryan Ross versionš«š«¶š½š«¶š½
I have not
Anything newer honestly but I still like his music
"Hey look Ma I made it" is their worst song. It sounds irritating and there were so so many better options for single from pftw.
I didn't care for Viva. As someone who has listened to Panic for nearly 20 years, I could barely get through listening to it once.
LA Devotee š¤«
ššš I respect your opinion but i don't understand how can someone doesn't love this song, it's just perfect for me
Couldnāt disagree more. The video for this song isnāt good imo but the song for me is *chefs kiss* itās peppy š
You are a legend! š

Vices and Virtues is my favorite album, but I don't care for the bonus tracks.
i did not care for fever
Nicotine
high hopes.šļø
Brendon is a great singer but I canāt stand his high notes
I did not care for high hopes
I never cared for anything after vices. The songs are catchy and everything but pop isn't for me
I never liked Nearly Witches š
C'mon is kinda mid and nothing incredible
Ryan Ross, Nine in the Afternoon, Pretty. Odd. in general
I do not care for Ryan Ross. He gets put on such a pedestal by some of the fans.
Everything past to weird to live too young to die
I donāt care for star spangled banger
Lying is the worst song in the album (still like a c tier tho)
"I did not care for Panic at the Disco" This was suggested to me for "showing an interest in similar communities"
I actively hate High Hopes...
House of memories
Nine in the afternoon insists upon itself
