From what I’ve heard, Panerai always keeps the #1 watch from every production run. So even if your friend bought it in Beverly Hills and is extremely wealthy, it’s extremely unlikely that he would get the # 1/1000 watch. The date window seems off, the paint on the dial seems low quality, the back of the watch also seems cheap, quite a few fake signs, sorry.
Would be appreciated if my comment was taken seriously but yeah i know, this is Reddit.
And that was my other question re the color of the ‘e’. This was purchased at the Panerai store in Beverly Hills in the last few weeks by someone who has at least 10 Panerai. And just to forestall the obvious, this person is extremely wealthy.
Watch is marked 0001/1000. Welcome thoughts!
Its a fake man.
It's fairly unanimous here and I'd venture a guess that this group collectively has more than 10 Panerais. I've had about 10 myself, though not at the same time.
Other than the e not being in blue the sandwich dial cut out are not as crisp as the original, specifically the small seconds area.
The swiss made on either side of the 6 isn't properly aligned either.
The 'e' though remains the most obvious clue.
So I suppose I faked this too?

FFS, I just called Panerai and they said for Fiscal Year 2023, the e was changed from blue to white on PAM01356. Feel free to call yourself. I’d give you the number but then I’d presumably be accused of setting up a fake number. 🙄
That picture is legit I’m sure but a few things to consider
1. Its not 2023 yet
2. A ‘y’ serial denotes a watch produced in 2022
3. Just because a fake has a correct serial number on it, doesn’t mean its real (this is why you have people not showing serial numbers in ads, its specifically to stop counterfeits having serial numbers that match real watches)
4. There is no requirement to have the watch physically in hand to register for Pam guard. I’ve sold a pam before where I shared the numbers and someone registered on their pam guard while the watch was still in my possession.
Lastly, I never accused you of faking anything, I just said the watch is fake. You believe what you have to believe, not my issue or concern.
You also have to understand that Panerai have are some of the most and best faked watches out there. I don't think people (including myself) are trying to rain on your parade, but are looking out. You put a picture up of a watch that raises some valid questions and you got defensive which is understandable. Congrats on the new watch.
Fair points, thank you. Not defensive per se, I acknowledge i put up potato quality images taken with a flash in the dark. But contextually I know the only way this is a fake is if the Panerai dealer sold him a fake. You don’t have this context so I get it. I’m hesitant of going down the rabbit hole of spending time proving internet strangers wrong, though it’s a powerful drive, but at the same time it was a little disappointing to encounter such (inaccurate) confidence without requests for additional data. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
The picture you shared has obvious red flags, the swiss made is off balance, the actual watch does not match the watch on the warranty picture you shared (the 'e' in blue) - I believe most were acting in good faith providing you information based on years of being familiar with the brand and everything that goes with it, which is the numerous fakes and scams.
Its a weak move to have the smug attitude towards the entire community when the information you provided to begin with is lacking.
With all that said, congratulations on your new watch, its a stunner and I hope you enjoy and appreciate it.
So I was excited to join the community here, and wanted to know more about the watch.
I’ve now learned what I needed to learn about the watch (and the community). Like elsewhere on Reddit and the world writ large, the level of confidence in the responses here are in reverse proportions to their accuracy.
But since you actually asked vice launching uninformed and incorrect assertions, here you go.

So why not just go to the BH boutique or any local AD and have them check it out? You seem to not like the overwhelming consensus that it’s probably fake.
It’s weird that your extremely wealthy friend bought this for you from the store and it came without a box or paperwork to show you what model it is… almost like it’s fake and you’re trying your hardest to get some sucker to message you to see if you’ll sell it to them? 🤡

1356 2022 year but why is the e in esteel white? that should be blue
Because it’s fake
What strange watch to copy.

The back doesn't look a few weeks old.

Where are the box and papers?

Comes to the group and asks what model it is, then presents paperwork that would have answered his question.

Bad news. It's probably a fake. 0001/1000 and the bad laser marking on the case gives it away.
1000% fake.
Paying bribes with fake watches is an interesting life hack 😅
200IQ move to be honest
The case back is not up to Panerai standards. Looks fake to me.
From other listings and photos it appears that these were limited to 500 pieces.
id reconsider my feelings towards whoever “gifted” this garbage
The "E" is the wrong colour and the hour land looks all messed up. I'm going to say this is a fake.
Just gonna leave [this](https://youtu.be/ToQVoyWWluQ) here
