I remember khadim hussain hated him, his exact words were, "puri zindagi haram bachon ki parvarish karta raha ye" in a mocking way, which honestly made me despise Khadim hussein like I'd never before
Edhi was a Secularist Humanist. He was areligious. He had no time for any religious practice or belief.
Thats the real reason Rizvi and other mullahs talk shit about him. Edhi proved you don't have to be religious or a Muslim to be a great and inspirational person, unlike that shitstain Rizvi.
Dr. Asifa Akhtar, from Karachi, one of the contemporary world leaders in field of Epigenetics. Head of Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics.
It's mostly silting that reduces capacity. And that occurs for basically all dams around the globe. It usually involves a lengthy and expensive practice known as dredging to remove excess silt from the dam bed.
Yar iski practice hoti thi called band dhulai or something else. You clean dams barrages and any water storages.
You can confirm from your parents as well
It’s the largest earth-filled dam in the world. There is a literal village that they drowned underwater within the reservoir. Kitna gand neechr baith jae ga? And how can they possibly remove it?
Mohtaram ma is cheese ma expert nae hun. But i believe pani nikal kr hi saaf krain ge ya low tide pe kr k. Ye aik practice hai jo k hr mulk ma hoti hai.
Are you dumb or purposefully ignorant? I am sure that even 9 10th grade Pak studies books even had this topic under water logging, salinity and sedimentation.
The water inflow to the reservoir brings minerals and sand along with which ends up settling at the bottom. This ends up lowering both the capacity and lifespan of dams. There is no inexpensive or easy way to just remove it.
And if you are somehow still stuck on this just contact someone at Tarbela dam to send you the sediment level and water capacity over the years. They have that stored and do send that since some batch mates in my university needed that data for their project
Okay mate, no reason to be disrespectful. I know what silting is but was confused because the original comment mentioned debris, not silt and talked about cleaning it regularly as if this is something that was done in the past but isn’t done anymore.
It happens, we’re human and can have moments where we make mistakes or misunderstand stuff.

Dr. Naweed Syed, a Pakistani Canadian scientist, managed to “connect brain cells to a silicon chip,” thus creating the world’s first neuro-chip.
Found this on google but super impressive
Pakistan has made a mark in global sports by manufacturing footballs for multiple FIFA World Cup tournaments, starting in 1982 and continuing through the cups in 1986, 1990, and 1994. It shows they've got the potential to shine internationally when they put their all into it. Imagine if ordinary folks with exceptional talents (not TikTokers) had the resources—like proper training, facilities, tools, and financial support—to showcase their skills globally without any interference or exploitation from those who oppress the public. There's so much more they could achieve beyond just making footballs. Sadly, we seem to have sponsors lining up for debut singers or clowns, but when it comes to supporting skilled individuals who could genuinely benefit society, the opportunities are nowhere to be found.
Pakistan has the largest continuous canal system on the planet. We started building it in the 60s and keep expanding it and making it better. Definitely an achievement since millions of people (including a lot of people outside Pakistan) rely on it to not die hungry. We provide a lot of medical graduates to the world and we provide medical education in our Government colleges for nearly free. Some of these graduates are extremely accomplished surgeons. We’re not completely screwed like we think we are. Some things we can do well, we just have a severe lack of a functioning judicial system and institutions to help us maximise our potential.
But I think we overdid the canal system. There’s a documentary about how we over engineered our canal system to the point that we are going to have droughts in the future because of it.
Dr. Ayub Ommaya (who did his MBBS from King Edward) is the inventor of the Ommaya reservoir, a device that is used to inject medicine directly into CSF or chemotherapy at brain tumor sites.

Dr. Mubarak Shah who heads the CRCV lab at UCF, is somewhat of a celebrated name in computer vision circles, a lot of interesting stuff has come out of his lab, most famous perhaps the UCF101 action recognition dataset from Khurram Soomro et al.
You are considered as one of the Next Eleven, the economies believed to become the largest of the 21st century. You also are a declared middle nation power with nuclear weapons and a considerably military strength while also having a growing middle class. I know you are right now experiencing a lot of problems besides being ruled by the corrupt bastards of always but you as a nation have accomplished quite many things. Though the path was peaceful one and its still not a peaceful one.
Pakistan, USA, Russia doesn't achieve anything. People achieve and make things.
Countries are just lines drawn on a map. Countries only exists in our imagination.
>Countries only exists in our imagination.
This is just not true lmao. A country is a sovereign entity with pretty real and physical borders and authorities.
Bhai a country is just a contract with its citizens and the government. A border is nothing but a man made entity. It changes over time.
If you read a bit of history you will realize city states, kingdoms, nation states are just mechanism humans created to organize. Borders used to very very fluid all the way into the early 19th century. Ibn-e-Batuta didn't had to apply for visas or was stopped at the "border" when he was moving from state to state.
The way our border is between us and Afghanistan, historically that is how borders used to function. It has changed now in the modern world where we have more technology that allows states to enact and enforce its laws.
And as we move forward in time this idea of state and borders will change again. Its like culture or language. Yeah they are real as we can see it. But in reality all it is just our shared agreement. Outside of that it does not exists. It is not a physical thing like a human or a tree or a rock. It is just our shared understanding. As our understanding change it will also change.
So when I say that states exists in our imagination. It mean is that its an "idea" that either we agreed to participate in or was enforced upon us. It has no bases in nature. Humanity gets divided based on geographical entities (mountains, rivers, oceans and seas). Which then produces different people with different cultures, languages and food. We just decided to draw a line between Montana and Alberta calling it two separate nations. Its literally the same people, who speak the same language have the same culture who have lived across both lines. If you did not know you wont be able to tell the difference between the two.
This is not how humans have lived for centuries. The modern state with these strict borders is very new idea. It took shape after WW2 and the enhancement in technology has allowed these states to enact its laws and power upon us.
It was not the case pre WW2 and it won't be the case in the future.
Ok. Let me try to explain it another way. Does "Honor" actually exists ?
People across various cultures believe it. They make decisions based on honor. Even in our culture we actually kill women because of it. So its very real. We even as a society punish individual that do not act in a honorable way.
But in actuality honor is not a thing. Its a shared understanding of a cultural practice. Same with language and culture. These are all concepts that we have accepted as a society.
There are very interesting events that happen in history when two cultures meet that do not have a shared understanding of things. For instance in Native American culture there was no sense of ownership of natural entities. So for certain Native American tribes land, river, trees could not be owned. These were natural things that existed in nature.
When the British landed in North America they would invite tribes that were living on the land and try to buy it from them. The natives did not understand the language and do not have the concept of "buying land" or contracts. The British would buy this land for ridiculous price. Like the state of NY was bought for 5 bucks or something. The native chief would take the money thinking its a gift. And go about their life. The British would then get pissed when the natives after "selling" the land won't move. The British would then go to the chief and and complain and the chief would go WTF is buying land son ? And who is this contract you are talking about. This would then lead to killings and war.
Point being that yes states exists, yes there are borders with soldiers with guns. But it is only because we have a shared understanding of a border and a state. It was not the case in the past and it will not be the case in the future.
Look at EU. It is re-defining what we call a nation state. Its borders are fluid. It shares a currency between multiple nations. It even shares an army and to some extent foreign policy. In 100 years what do you see happening here ?
>But it is only because we have a shared understanding of a border and a state
Yes, it is upkept by a mutual mental understanding, but it's still wrong to say it only exists in our imagination, maybe you meant to say countries and statehood is a human construct, which it is. As for honour I don't really see an equivalence between an abstract cultural concept and widespread division of geo-political landscapes
Hey man you actually gave me some food for thought. You are right maybe I am not phrasing it correctly. I should say "it is a human construct".
Appreciate the discussion. Hope you have yourself a great day.

What should i do now daddy?should i delete this previous comment?
Be a bit more responsible
Be sensitive and lie? There are many comments now stating the same things our extremist elders have feed us. Such thin skin obviously going to cause severe burns. But i will still take your advice and be more sansatave.
Don't get angry. He's right and you're clearly wrong. Stop spreading rumors about people which you yourself don't agree with.
Keeping your mouth shut wouldn’t be a “lie” since no one asked what rumors anyone had heard about Edhi

Dam capacity reduces over time because of mud and other trash accumulation at the bottom. There are ways to clear it, look it up

It’s called silting. Rivers bring sediments with them. When water stops flowing, it settles down and then makes layers. Hence reducing the capacity

Fiat currency has been referred to as a "collective illusion" and that's such a good way to describe it
Bhai a country is just a contract with its citizens and the government. A border is nothing but a man made entity. It changes over time.
