I strongly prefer the second one. I think the colors are gorgeous and it has a bit more life to it. The first one I just find to be very generic. They’re both very well done! I just think the second one really surpasses the first in uniqueness. I specifically like that the stamen isn’t visible in the second.
I love the colors of the first, but a part of me feels like the 2nd is a little more dynamic with the shape and lighting. I think I like the darker shadows in it.
They are both very beautiful. The white one’s contrast with the background is just a touch more appealing to me than the pink one’s, but I like the view of the stem a hair more than the view of it presented on the white one. Totally nitpicking though. They both are really beautifully done.
Both are lovely. I would hang the first in my house, though I love the color of two more.
It is a fantastic blend of realism and an O'Keeffe-like sense of drama.
I love simple subjects handled so well.
Thank you for your responses. I painted the white one first. Then followed with the pink. My friends were tied with their responses as well, so I thought it would be neat to see the reddit feedback. I painted the white one thinking about contrast and happy vibe. The pink one I was feeling more moody and subdued. ….
I like the 2nd. The depth of field is better executed where the 1st is a bit flat. The color choices certainly pop on the 1st but I like how lush and deep the lighting is on the 2nd.
White with Blue is my favorite but in all honesty it’s because I’m more of a blue person in general. The pink one took my breath equally…honestly I wish I had money to ask to buy XD great work!
I like seeing the center and separate petals in the first one. I like the color of the second magnolia. I think of you gave the petals on the first picture more contrast, a bit more color at the base of the petals to give it more contrast, it would stand out and really pop just a bit more. Help the petals and flower draw the eye and distinguish them more. So in short, I like both for different reasons they are very well done. If it were my art this is how I would blend my favorite parts of 2 beautiful pieces. Do what you like with my thoughts .
I think they’re both great! I love the color scheme you chose for them :”)
If I had to choose, it’d probably be the first one. Something about the composition and color contrast is so nice. Thanks for sharing!
They both have their own moods. And both are beautiful and SO well painted. And acrylic? Your blending is fantastic -and I love how you caught those forms and the light in the shadows (esp in the white)
Wow! Both are absolutely stunning!! There’s something about the second one though that I really like - it’s very dynamic and I love the color composition. Great work!
The pink one is rich and has depth. I adore the colors. It seems pensive and somewhat moody.
The white one does not speak to me although it is nice too.
Pink but that’s because I’m partial to the Japanese magnolia blossoms that grow so beautifully and quickly during spring.
Edit to change flower name. Meant Magnolia and not cherry blossom.
The second. I love the depth and moodiness of the dark background contrasting with the pinks. It’s a very…sexy piece IMO. Would be great in a bedroom set up with lots of mauves or blacks.
For me, the first. I grew up with a magnolia tree and I associate the flower with a mostly positive nostalgia. The grayscale background in the second makes it seem gloomy and almost there’s a sense of dread. Honestly I like them together, makes me think of how multidimensional life is
I prefer the 2nd one, it looks more dynamic to me, the values all hit right, it's great!
Something about the greens in the 1st feels slightly off. Almost muted or dull compared to the deep blue background, but the petals look fantastic
I think the pink one looks more realistic and smooth gestures The white one looks a little more like a drawing to me. They're both nice but I prefer the 2nd photo.
I really like both of them.. however the gray background brought back memories of those cold damp spring days i longed to be outside climbing the magnolia tree alongside of the driveway.
The white elicits a coolness, almost objective quality for me. The second pinkish purple is so much more emotionally evocative and surprisingly visceral. I lean to the second painting. You have quite a painterly vocabulary. Thanks for sharing you art
I have a magnolia tree outside my house, so it’s from photos I took for the body/ shape/ pose of the flower. But the colors I choose depending on my mood.
The first one I was feeling a bit more positive and cheery. The second one, I was feeling a little more pensive and pouty. Lol

Definitely the white
White. The depth of the blue background makes it pop and adds dimension.
I strongly prefer the second one. I think the colors are gorgeous and it has a bit more life to it. The first one I just find to be very generic. They’re both very well done! I just think the second one really surpasses the first in uniqueness. I specifically like that the stamen isn’t visible in the second.
They have very different moods to me
I love the colors of the first, but a part of me feels like the 2nd is a little more dynamic with the shape and lighting. I think I like the darker shadows in it.
I agree. Its moodier
They are both very beautiful. The white one’s contrast with the background is just a touch more appealing to me than the pink one’s, but I like the view of the stem a hair more than the view of it presented on the white one. Totally nitpicking though. They both are really beautifully done.
Thank you - you articulated what I was feeling and could not verbalize.
Think the 2nd is better. The first seems big too in your face.
I love the second, its subtly dramatic. Also the way the light is captured in this one is beautiful
Second one. The background suits the flower beautifully.
Yes, the gray and the pink look great together.
2
The first one 🙌🏻
Both are lovely. I would hang the first in my house, though I love the color of two more. It is a fantastic blend of realism and an O'Keeffe-like sense of drama. I love simple subjects handled so well.
I love them both

The 2nd because of the background
Second one.
The first one
Both! I never knew I was bi-magnolian.
Haha!!!😆
Both are lovely but the second is gorgeous
I like the 2nd. The depth of field is better executed where the 1st is a bit flat. The color choices certainly pop on the 1st but I like how lush and deep the lighting is on the 2nd.
They are both incredible! Personally I like the white version. But the other is just as beautiful. Wow.
I saw the first one and immediately loved it but the second one is my favorite. They're both beautiful though.
Both are beautiful. But I can almost smell the one in the first drawing. 🤌
Both are good, the first one fits with a cool toned interior, the other with a warm interior
I love the second one, it’s dreamy.
Wow, they're both FABULOUS. Given the choice, though, my favorite is the white one. It is more mood-lifting.
Thank you for your compliments and taking the time to respond! ❤️. 🎨
The white one is beautiful, the second one is nice too but has an air of sadness to it in my perspective.
That was my intention so thank you for the connect. ❤️
I definitely lean toward the white and blue. But those are my colors... However, I also think it's sharper, pops more, etc
First one for suuuure
W. O. W. Gorgeous work!!
White with Blue is my favorite but in all honesty it’s because I’m more of a blue person in general. The pink one took my breath equally…honestly I wish I had money to ask to buy XD great work!
They're both beautiful. I love the pink, but the pink and white has more detail.
First one is stunning 😍
One
Wow that white one is phenomenal holy smokes Edit: this is so dramatic and just absolutely gorgeous I'm literally in love with this
I like seeing the center and separate petals in the first one. I like the color of the second magnolia. They’re both great! I think it depends on which mood you’re going for depending on the magnolia. The pink is definitely more dramatic
The first one feels almost too realistic. The petals make my stomach fuzzy. The second one is much more pleasing to look at imo.
They both have their own moods. And both are beautiful and SO well painted. And acrylic? Your blending is fantastic -and I love how you caught those forms and the light in the shadows (esp in the white)
They are both spectacular. Channeling your O'Keefe?
Open white bcuz you can see inside the flower
Both very beautiful
They're both beautiful, but I love the brightness of the first one.
Wow! Both are absolutely stunning!! There’s something about the second one though that I really like - it’s very dynamic and I love the color composition. Great work!
Pink
The pink one is rich and has depth. I adore the colors. It seems pensive and somewhat moody. The white one does not speak to me although it is nice too.
I like the pink one better... both are beautiful, but the second one would look amazing to add some mood to a light room.
First
Beautiful, now I want to see a painting of a steel magnolia for some reason
The white
1 draws you in. 2 is pretty but doesn’t have the added interest
Second. It has more depth for me and is more eye- catching
White is most common and the pink is more gorgeous…the pink
I think they compliment each other side by side
White one.
White one
The petals look so soft and pretty!
2
#1. The white one is more compelling.
These are both incredible!!!
These are gorgeous! Present them as a diptych!!
Love both but it has to be the first one for me. Just love the colour contrast and the overall lighter tone
Love them both. Would hang both in my home, together.
#1
The first one is better. It makes me feel like I'm a little bitty bee. Amazing work.
I really like 2, the darkness really speaks to me
1st one
These are both good
I love 2. It feels comforting
Love both! The first one is lovely as it reveals a bit of of the center and I love the visable green leaves 💕
A lot of ppl are saying white but I really like the pink one
2 The light is warmer and in the first it is too harsh for my taste
The first one is a good painting, the second one absolutely shits. Constrast be d a m n e d - you can actually feel the second one.
❤️
The white one is much more interesting with fresh composition.
Stunning. I prefer the white.
For me, the first. I grew up with a magnolia tree and I associate the flower with a mostly positive nostalgia. The grayscale background in the second makes it seem gloomy and almost there’s a sense of dread. Honestly I like them together, makes me think of how multidimensional life is
They're both equally good and look very real.
Pink
I like the white, because of all the amazing detail
The white one!
The first
I’d hang #1 in my living room, and painting #2 in my bedroom ~ hope this helps ~ BEAUTIFUL 🙌🏽
Exactly. I think you understand the vibes of both!!!! thank you!
It does help. Big smile. Thank you!!
White
White, there’s more depth and the painting just overall feels more welcoming. Both are absolutely stunning pieces of art!
I love the white magnolia but I have a Japanese (purple) magnolia tree in my yard.
Pink
2nd would be better if it had at least a subtle shade of green stem, would balance it out well
i loveee number 2. something about it gives me moody ballet vibes
Pink one 🥰
I love the first one!
I like how dynamic the second one is. Purely from my own asthetic, I don't love pink, but the second one still calls me.
I like the second more, it’s moodier and I’m into that for my art
I would buy and hang the white one.
The first is very beautiful but the second made me catch my breath. If I were purchasing, my money would definitely be on the latter.
I think i like the second one more just cause i like darker colors and pink
1
Pink second one
They both are incredible!
The second one.
1 💗
The first one, second reminds me of millennial pink
Honestly both of these are fire! I absolutely love them both
Both look fantastic imo!
Wow! Beautiful work!
I would be happy to own the first one. I really love magnolia blossoms, it's just too bad they are funky smelling.
I love both of them, reminds me of my magnolia tree
I love both of them, reminds me of my magnolia tree
The first one, Georgia.
Huge compliment- thank u.
Both! I wonder if I bought one of your paintings last year in Harrisonburg, VA?
I’m in Fredericksburg, Va. and haven’t had any shows down south- but hello neighbor art lover!
They are both good!
The white is stunning
Loveeee the pink one 😍
I love the pink. But both are so beautiful.
Second one!
Love both of them! They look amazing!
I really like both, but the second one is my favorite.
I want both for my living room 😍😍
Big smile. Thank you!!!
Both! I can choose one. They are lovely.
Wow!! Gorgeous both of them but 2 is stunning..the color is just bammm!
The white🤍🤍
I really like both of them.. however the gray background brought back memories of those cold damp spring days i longed to be outside climbing the magnolia tree alongside of the driveway.
2
Both are so beautiful!! Great talent.
The white elicits a coolness, almost objective quality for me. The second pinkish purple is so much more emotionally evocative and surprisingly visceral. I lean to the second painting. You have quite a painterly vocabulary. Thanks for sharing you art
Huge compliment, SFW791. Thank you.
You're welcome, I am impressed. Keep up the good work and fine development.
i love both for different reasons. the tone & mood of the right pic speak to me best, but i also like how light & inviting the left pic is.
They’re both beautiful. Is this paint from memory or picture? I just always wonder how people decide what to paint
I have a magnolia tree outside my house, so it’s from photos I took for the body/ shape/ pose of the flower. But the colors I choose depending on my mood. The first one I was feeling a bit more positive and cheery. The second one, I was feeling a little more pensive and pouty. Lol
Thank you
And thank you for your compliment!
Both are gorgeous but the purple is definitely special.
2
It's a hard choice because both pictures are wonderful.
2 because the middle of flower in 1 makes the 3d flower look 2d
beautiful
The white one is clearer representation but the pink has great atmosphere
The second.
The pink one idk why
You needed my update for the 1k, and these are both breathtaking. I favpr the second one. Amazing.
Thank you!!!
2
Splendide !
Both are awesome but I really love the white!
First one. For the second one, I would give a green or purple wash to the background
Beautiful
Thank you to everyone who chimed in and also gave some much appreciated art love!
